If the release of the book “Through the Storm” and subsequent media blitz supporting it was hard on her daughters, the next thing Lynne Spears wants to do with their story will be even worse. Lynne is reportedly talking with movie producers to turn her book about parenting Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears into a movie.

According to insiders, Lynne is convinced that her recently-published memoir Through The Storm will be a hit on the big screen.

“She’s pitching the book around to studios,” says a source close to the Spears matriarch.

It’s been reported that rising star Anna Faris is in the frame to play Britney, but Lynne has another – less obvious – choice in mind.

The source tells The Sun that “she even says she wants Julia Roberts to play her. It’s insane!”

The thing that floors me more than anything about Lynne Spears’ actions in going forward with this book, and whatever she’s hoping it will entail, is her timing. I’m not so put off by Britney and Jamie Lynn’s mother for writing the book in and of itself, it’s a very public interest topic and many family members write books about their experiences with their celebrity families. It generally doesn’t score points for them with their famous kin, and it’s clearly a self-serving thing to do, but most subjects are able to deal with it.

But Lynne Spears took the moment that was arguably the most vulnerable time for both her girls to capitalize on that and release the book. Now, when both her daughters are struggling to put right the things that have gone off track in their lives, she wants to take it a step further and splash the scenes, that were before hidden between the covers of a book, onto the large screen. Even if they avoid they film, the advertising for it would affect them. Her daughters are still struggling and this isn’t the time to put these things in front of the media.
