I wish Pippa Middleton had a better poker face. Her sister does – true, there are lots of photos where Kate’s veil has dropped and you see the naked ambition in her eyes, and in recent photos, you can see the happiness/smugness of finally achieving her endgame, her nine-year (Waity) goal. But for the most part, Kate’s face can very easily become a mask, never tense, never upset, never emotional, never put out. Kate often adopts a look of “I know you’re looking at me and that’s fine, but don’t think you know me.” Pippa seems incapable of reticence, of mystery, of holding something back. My take on her is that she’s like the royal-family version of a Kardashian. Simply being photographed, becoming extremely famous in her own right for barely anything, and Pippa enjoys every second of it, loving the attention and the cameras like a C-list celebrity shilling a reality show. That’s what we’re watching at this point – The Pippa Show.

Anyway, these are photos of Pippa in France yesterday for the French Open. I still think Pippa is trying to end up with a title, but I’m not sure if this is the way to do – daily paparazzi outings, even internationally (Madrid, now Paris), and now this nearly see-through blouse. Thankfully, she’s wearing a bra (for a second I did think those were her nipples though). Still… duchesses don’t wear see-through blouses to the French Open. My mother would refer to this as “advertising”. That’s exactly what Pippa is doing – duchess advertising.

Fresh from her trip to Madrid with friends, girl-about-town Pippa Middleton has headed off to the continent again – this time to watch a spot of tennis. The 27-year-old, dubbed Her Royal Hotness after winning a host of admirers for her star turn as maid of honour at sister Kate’s wedding to Prince William, was spotted taking in the action at Roland Garros.

She joined a group of friends at the French Open to watch defending champion, Rafael Nadal, beat Ivan Ljubicic in his fourth round match, 7-5 6-3 6-3. Slimline Pippa, whose figure has prompted adoring Facebook groups and internet sites, donned a short skirt and on-trend peeptoe heels which showed off her tanned and toned legs. A black top, together with sunglasses and handbag, completed the relaxed outfit for her trip to the grand slam championship.

The 27-year-old has reportedly taken on a job working for her ex-boyfriend George Percy, who runs a geothermal energy firm, so presumably getting time off may not have been a problem. The news of her job came after she spent a week with George, the 26-year-old son of the Duke of Northumberland, and a group of friends in Madrid. Pippa will juggle the role with her job at party planning firm Table Talk, and editing an online magazine for her parents’ firm Party Pieces.

She wants to marry this George Percy guy. Even though the British papers are still claiming that Pippa and Alex Loudon are together – and they might be, technically – I think Pippa has seen what her sister got, and she wants to compete. While Alex is certainly a dish (I find him attractive), Pippa wants to “marry up”. And she’s never been in a better position to see what else she can get. Unfortunately, I don’t think Pippa has Waity’s infinite patience. Pippa’s not going to review her options much longer. I feel like she’s going to try to nail down this Duchess of Northumberland thing in the next few months.
