I read something about this earlier in the week – I think Life & Style (via Jezebel) was the first to report this current round of split rumors between Alex Rodriguez and Cameron Diaz. According to L&S’s insider, “He needs to focus on baseball, and that’s all there is to it.” The report also claimed that Cameron was trying to play it cool and act like she didn’t want kids or marriage, but then after they’d been dating for several months, she started pressuring him for marriage and kids. An insider said: “For a long time, Alex thought she was a ton of fun… [she] kept saying that she never wanted to get married and have kids, he thought she would be an easy girlfriend. But then she pushed for more of a commitment, and he told her to cool it.” After which, Alex probably began pressuring her to get a boob job, I guess. Anyway, that report was “denied” by a “source close to Alex” to Gossip Cop. And now Perez Hilton is now claiming that Camy and Alex are dunzo. And The Mail is running with it:
She only spoke publicly about their relationship last month. But it has been reported today that Cameron Diaz and her baseball player boyfriend Alex Rodriguez have split up.
A source told Perez Hilton’s website fitperez.com: ‘They’ve broken up. (Cameron is) hurt and betrayed, because she tried so hard to please him. She went overboard.’
The couple first started dating last year and the 38-year-old actress confirmed that she was seeing the New York Yankees star in an interview with Britain’s Elle magazine.
‘Yes, Alex is my boyfriend. It’s not a secret any more,’ she said.
The couple had been spending an increased amount of time together, with the actress apparently even moving to Miami to be closer to the 35-year-old. And Cameron is already said to have met the baseball slugger’s daughters Natasha, six, and Ella, three.
However, just last month the actress claimed to be in no rush to get married.
‘Marriage hasn’t been important to me,’ she told Cosmopolitan magazine. ‘And you can’t have a child just because you think it’s something you are supposed to do.’
The actress is currently promoting her new film Bad Teacher in which she stars alongside ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake. Cameron’s representative did not return calls to MailOnline asking for confirmation of the news.

I don’t think it’s suspicious at all that we’re hearing split reports on the heels of so many reports about Alex and Camy perhaps getting engaged. I don’t think Alex is very into it, honestly. I don’t even think he likes Cameron as much as Kate Hudson. I also think this whole coupling is a total disaster, but I’m not sure whether I should take these split reports as the gospel. While Camy is filming a movie in London and A-Rod is doing his baseball thing, they might have just taken a break. I think Camy might try to get back with him. I hope she doesn’t, but I just think she’s going overboard with this one.

I used to like her so much but she’s just another insecure actress. Cammy stay away from A-Rod and his Centaur.
Cam needs to be true with herself when she goes into these relationships. She attempts to be the ‘easy girlfriend’ and winds up getting hurt every time. Why just be honest and say you want marriage and a family instead of pretending you don’t. If the man feels the same way, then he will stick around , if he doesn’t then NEXT! When she starts in relationships with all this bravado, the men are glad because there seems to be no pressure yet, as the relationship progresses, her real self comes out and the men are taken by surprise and leave. Her ‘trying too hard” is so obvious to these men.
I would dump anyone who suggested I get implants, too. She always seems so touchy feely and draped over him. (picture above as example)

I agree with this as always. Not sure if it’s true, not sure if it’s false. They’re both in LA this weekend so if they want us to know they’re still together I’m sure there will be more photos of Cameron hanging all over him. That one picture is pathetic. He doesn’t he care about her and she is all over him. I agree with one of the comments, I hope it’s over and I’d be more surprised if they get back together. But this “relationship” has been all sorts of surprising.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Cameron got back together with Justin Timberlake? There are still press tours to do for their movie, and I think they said they were friends again…so if they’re both single…
Please let this be true. After she hooked up with A-Roid, she just became so clingy and pathetic. She needs to go to some self-esteem boot camp, make another Charlie’s Angel or something.
Camy is a strong woman and don’t need these kinda doughbags for BFs – come on girl get yourself together, and choose someone higher up on the food chain next time.
I don’t believe for one moment Camy is a strong woman. Well she might be in some ways. She tries to project that she is in relationships but too much has come out over the years (same with Kate Hudson too) that they are too clingy and insecure. If there is a split, we will hear from her publicist that Camy didn’t want to get serious but he did or something ridiculous like that.

It could be true, but he’s busy traveling around the country playing baseball, and isn’t she shooting a movie somewhere? So we can’t expect to see them together much at this time. Guess we’ll have to wait till the end of the baseball season to find out!
i have a theory that Cammy is an ardent gold-digger in disguise. esp since she really pursues the mega-rich boyfriends. she threw herself at Timberlake. now she’s throwing herself at A-Rod. common denominator ? they are both mega-mega wealthy.

There is NO explanation other than these women like money/fame attached to an athletic body. If he worked at the local grocery store as a clerk, none would give him the time of day.
Years ago I used to workout in a small private gym at the same time of the day he did. He is just gross in a missing link kind of way, not bright and a major womanizer. The only attractive thing about him was his eyes.
I agree totally with Dorothy’s post. When Cameron goes blabbing to the press that she finds it hard to stay with the same person and does not want to get married she attracts men that want the exact same thing. She should not be hurt by A-Rod. He was playing the same game.
I like Cammy, I like her movies and think she has a cute laugh. But she doesn’t do all that well with the men. I think she is a little ADD in relationships. I think she will never get married or maybe 10 years from now she marry or hook up with some 25 year old. Just think her future bf is still in highschool …..

I agree with Mia Girl in that Alex is likely not too bright a bulb to begin with, and then he’s a womanizer. Of course, he knows there are always going to be attractive women waiting in line for him, so breaking up is not an issue. I agree with most comments, that he is a very poor choice to hook up. He, on the other hand, probably gets more recognition when he dates an a well known actress. An added boost to his ego.

Honestly, I didn’t even know who he was. I was just staring at his eyes and perfect body. I must have said “Who’s that!?” out loud because some guys at the next table told me it was A-Rod.
@Kaiser do you really think he was more into Kate? She needs implants a lot more than Cam does and she isn’t buff – these are two of the FEW things I like about Kate. A-Rod seems to like his women buff: ex wife, Madonna, Cam.
