My thought is that if he ever has a girlfriend, it will be someone with the bare minimum of famousness. Just barely enough to be acceptable. A woman with no Hollywood power or circle of support in the industry. Maybe an insecure 21 year old model whose career is basically over at that age. He wants to be the prominent one, and the imbalance of power in the relationship allows him to continue to dictate the (unfair, one-sided) rules of the relationship. He could not get away with treating a famous, strong, independent, smart or grown-up woman in that manner – so those are the women he avoids.
