This is a cute little story about a few remarks that Kristen Scott Thomas made about her impressions of Robert Pattinson on the set of Bel Ami. As many are no doubt aware, Thomas plays Madame Walter, who is one of the cougars several high society ladies that Pattinson’s character, Georges Duroy, seduces on his way to the top of the social ladder. While it’s difficult to tell from the trailer whether Pattinson convincingly pulls off the role, Kristen Scott Thomas would like us to know that the Sparkler, at the very least, is rather fetching and looks magnificent in his top hat. And without the hat as well, or so I presume:
Bel Ami is all about sex! How will Kristen handle watching him with so many other women?
Robert Pattinson clearly has a way with the ladies — especially the ones named Kristen! In a new interview with USA Today, Rob’s Bel Ami co-star Kristin Scott Thomas, 51, says Rob is “absolutely charming and delightful, and he looks very good in a top hat.” Sounds like someone‘s a little Robsessed (and we’re not just talking about us.)
Kristin plays one of several older ladies Rob’s character, Georges Duroy, takes to bed in Bel Ami — and she certainly didn’t complain about having to shoot the movie’s steamy love scenes.
“Yes, I understand [his appeal],” she admits.
Poor Kristen Stewart! We can’t imagine going to the movies to watch our boyfriend having sex with multiple other women – assuming our boyfriend was also a movie star. Maybe this is one she should just skip altogether.

Now I’m actually feeling rather sorry for Sparkles’ ladies in this movie, which include not only Thomas but also Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci. Together, they will be put on the spot in dreadful ways in press interviews leading up to the movie’s October 19 release. In addition, these women will also face the wrath of the Twihard crowd as journalists twist their words in an effort to make each of these woman appear “Robsessed.” Obviously, we’re not above poking a little fun at the phenomenon either, so do I think that Kristen Scott Thomas might have enjoyed her sexy time with the Sparkler? Oh, why not.

Ugh, not attractive at all. Besides he’s a shitty actor. Seriously, Christopher Walken imitations and constipated faces are his vast range.
Hm, I think it’s his fangirls that make me dislike him so much. It’s the same with Justin Beiber fans, girls who think he’s a living God when he’s actually just a talentless hack.
I must disagree about j bieber. He isn’t talentless. He played in a jazz band at 4 years old and kept up. He can not only play guitar but bass and drums, and has a beautiful voice. There is a difference in being a sellout and being void of talent. He does boyband bullshit yes!!! But you have to kno that he is good.
“… seduces on his way to the top of the social ladder….”
It’s the American way: get to the top by starting at the bottom.
@bedhead It is KristIn Scott Thomas, not Kristen Scott Thomas. Curious how Rob’s costars never really praise his acting but stick to his personality, looks or fame. Makes me wonder if they think he is as good as so many fans want to believe. Personally, I think he is overrated in the acting department.
He looks awful. Why so pale and grey like he’s sick? Where are the makeup people?
Ha! I love that “what did I just step in back there?” photo.
I do not get his appeal at all. Too pale, eyebrows look like catepillars, nose is crocked, eyes are like bugs. The twihards have been conditioned to believe he is the most beautiful man in the world. Advertising works I guess.
Can we confirm if Ms. Thomas requires eye glasses?
And the count down to this messy break-up….
So far, the comments are in the “I don’t get it camp” so… I’ll be the first to say “I totally get it” (different strokes I guess)…
Seeing him in Water for Elephants, there were a few times I actually sighed from how great he looks on screen. And his interviews are the best… hopefully his acting ability will catch up to the strength of his general appeal.
Sexy.
Ah, not nice to choose such a bad photo, not nice, really.
🙂
Oh I think he’s hot-not Fassbender hot but still there’s something there. And I’m not a Twi-hard.
@Mia girl IMO, his interviews are losing their luster. he either answers with an “I don’t know” or a giggle. That worked in 2008 but it’s time for him to step up to the plate or he is going to fall behind his more talented but not as charismatic peers.
@Tigger about Beiber
“when he’s actually just a talentless hack.”
A RICH “talentless hack.”
Rob and his girlfriend are both laughing all the way to the bank!
You mean Rob and his beard are laughing?
They are obviously not laughing since they desperately try to come across as “serious artists(LOL)” and want to have respect the others get because they are talented.
@womenfromthenorth
Huh? I don’t think they are. They both come across as the most miserable, angsty people to me. And again what WTF? said, they want nothing more then to be considered ‘serious actors’, which we know is not going to happen 😉
@Lydia – I guess I’m not watching the same interviews that you are. On press duties for Water for Elephants the interviews I saw (many because they were posted on this site) were funny, charming, self-effacing and smart.
@Tigger, @WTF etc… I get that the fan-girl/twihard madness around him can repel and that Pattinson may not be the best actor, but it also seems like you are hating on him just as hard as others fawn over him. He’s just an actor doing his thing. Most actors want to come across as serious actors, I don’t see any crime in that… and only time will tell if he actually can pull it off.
Well I saw a couple of WFE interviews and I found his language to be either crass or uninformative. I don’t want to hear about snot in wigs or Reese using the bathroom in the corner or fuck!ng Reese and I don’t want to hear Rob answer the majority of the thoughtful questions with an “I don’t know”. He couldn’t seem to give an in-depth answer as to what the film was about or why he did it or what he learned. The crass humor is fine for an R rated raunchy comedy press tour but I found that he was promoting this film the same way he was promoting his last drama, Remember Me. Whoever told him that talking about sex toys was a way to impress the viewers for that film was seriously sleeping on the job. Give me Ryan G, Jesse E or Andrew G who are intelligent and witty any day of the week. Rob seems to be at a standstill and needs to up his game. Giggling through an answer is so two years ago.
The movie looks great! I can’t wait for it to hit theatres or DVD. I’ve been really psyched since watching the trailer and all the ladies in the cast are really wonderful.
Just give him a chance, will ya all? He is talented, charming and a genuinely nice guy.
I really think people that hate on him also like to kick puppies in their free time…
He looks like Stewie Griffin Lol.
If you want funny interviews just watch Michael Fassbender and James MCavoy during the X-Men press tour. They were hilarious.
By all accounts, Rob is a great actor to work with, professional and friendly on set. I’m looking forward to this movie!
@sure_fine_whatever
Rob is not hipster-funny, he is REALLY funny, which is rare….
I think he’s very, very handsome. Also, what’s with all the people on this site who think fair skin is so ugly? It’s weird to judge someone’s skin as “ugly”. It’s skin. You’re born with it, so why mock what someone can’t change? Speaking as a fellow pale person, I think he looks great! 🙂
