These are newish photos of Jennifer Lopez shooting the music video for her new single “Papi” in LA over the weekend. In all honesty, I don’t have any problems with Jennifer trying to get her music career back on track, and I don’t mind the her general insanity. But I do mind the fashion missteps, and I do mind how dated Jennifer’s music career and styling feels. I mean, Jennifer is trying to “rock” some culottes in this video. Culottes and a belly shirt. It’s just so… Pretty Woman. Early 1990s. I will always give Jennifer credit for one thing though – I love her legs. I love that she has dancer’s calves and thick, muscular thighs. I think her legs are really sexy.
In other J.Lo news, there are about a million stories about her split with Marc Anthony. Last week’s tabloids claimed that Jennifer was trying to ensure that Marc didn’t get one red cent of her fortune, but I’m not sure I believe that. Surely they had a pre-nup? Surely Marc is already incredibly wealthy on his own? Granted, he seems to have crappy business sense, but I still think he’s pretty wealthy. Meanwhile, Us Weekly’s sources claim that Marc is “harassing” Jennifer (CB mentioned this in a previous post, but it’s worth mentioning again):
Marc Anthony’s being a bugaboo! Although he and Jennifer Lopez announced their separation nearly a month ago, the singer’s still not ready to let go, a source tells Us Weekly.
“He calls her nonstop, especially when he’s drinking,” the insider says. “Marc is constantly harassing her and doesn’t think she’ll go through with the divorce.”
(Anthony’s rep denies the calls, and the twosome put on a united front in Southhampton, NY August 10, so Anthony could spend time with 3-year-old twins Max and Emme.)

There are also even more reports that Jennifer is acting like a diva on the set of What to Expect When You’re Expecting. Last Friday, CB reported that there were rumors about a J.Lo-Camy Diaz feud, and now Gatecrasher claims that Jennifer “wouldn’t talk to anyone directly” on the Atlanta set, and “would converse with people only through her handler.” I don’t know… I’ll always buy that Jennifer is a diva, but she’s never seemed like the “don’t look me in the eye, peasant!” kind of diva.

I don’t think I’d call those ‘culottes’ – they are just pleated shorts. I think culottes are longer and more full. Whatever though, she looks positively frumpy in that last full-length pic. The top is kinda cut though. I did LOL though at the thought of MA drunk dialing Jlo.
I really wish she does more latin related music. Her album is just…well..blah.

Pleated shorts, pleated anything…probably not the best look for her, especially from certain angles, but I think she looks cute.
Culottes tend to be longer then what she is wearing. But other then that they do look rather dated.

Maybe her video is set in a different time period…lol. Also her last two videos/songs, I’m Into You and On The Floor were not dated at all nor was the styling. OMG I loved the styling for I’m Into You. So freaking cute. I also think Jen is very professional on set and doesn’t have a diva attitude.
Fug outfit but I just can’t hate on her. B!tch has a great, healthy body and has managed to keep her career going despite her very limited talent as a ginger/actress/fashion designer/etc.

Only in a world where the terms “artist” and “musician” have been eviscerated is this product called an “artist.” If she’s so good why isn’t she headlining 2-3 hr. 20-40 thousand people concerts because she can’t sing or perform live for more than 5 min. of cheap lipsynching; everything is done for her she’s just another bland corporate product; last month I saw U2 2hr. 45 min. of live music with 60,000 other people. JHO’s “career” is an example that talent is irrelevant and the music industry is joke.

She most definitely bank blocked Mark. Jen waited to sign her Idol contract for a reason… this was earnings AFTER the separation and would not count in any split of earnings while married.
If Jenny wants to reignite her career, she needs to get in the studio with Sean Coombs. He’s the one who helped her career at the start and he’s a talented producer.

@jover. Makes a lot of sense. JLO has an album out and creating these music videos, but not performing anywhere on the level like a “true” artist would do. Britney is a lip-syncer just like JLO is, but Britney has been touring with her lipsyncing for the longest, but JLO will only do a limited amout of performing, because an American Idol Judge being paid $20 million to judge vocal talent, has no business lipsyncing when they promote their own music.
I think she sounds like a wailing cat whenever I hear her sing. *shudders*
It’s great she’s getting her hustle back on because she’s such a hustler. But where’s the time with the kids? With so much on her plate; it seems like she’s totally avoiding spending time with them.
You can’t work on that many projects all at once without sacrificing something and at the moment. It seems like it’s the kids. Sad since she really wanted them so badly.

I don’t care for JLo, too much diva for me, sorry. About her look: Do not like anyone in “big” shorts. These are not culottes, but very wide shorts, which are not that attractive unless you have the right legs. I also do not like her legs, sorry. Not to mention that her singing is borderline nothing. There should be absolutely no fuss made over this woman since her singing and acting are both poor.
That’s a really unfortunate outfit, but I don’t think it makes her look fat at all. In fact, the bagginess just kind of draws attention away from her otherwise great body.
She does have an amazing body, I’ll give her that. Outfit aside, she looks great.
