I. Was. Wrong. I just want to get that out there, right at the start. Beyonce has been talking about babies for so many years, I just thought she would be one of those celebrities who would be forever “all talk, no action”. But I was wrong – Beyonce is pregnant! She announced it in an interesting way – by rubbing her belly/womb area on stage at the VMAs. It was actually… kind of cute. Beyonce was introduced by Britney and Gaga (still in her drag king Jo Calderone costume), and when Bey was singing “Love On Top”, I thought the highlight would be the cutaways – Adele singing and dancing along with Bey, and then Gaga hanging with Kanye and Jay-Z (and having a drink, it looked like). When Bey finished the song, she looked down at Jay, smiled and rubbed her bump. Kanye and Jay both went a little bit crazy, and it was seriously very sweet. Oh… I guess Bey announced it on the black carpet before her performance too…? I missed most of the preshow. I was watching The Tillman Story (it was more interesting than Selena Gomez, let me tell you).

But it wasn’t one of the pop diva’s signature show-stopping performances that had people talking. Instead, it was Beyoncé’s burgeoning belly bump, swathed in an orange gown.
Beyoncé, 29, posed for photos with her hands cradling her belly, teasing, “I have a surprise!”
“I’m happy to say it’s true,” her rep confirms to PEOPLE.
This will be the first child for Beyoncé and her husband of three years, 41-year-old Jay-Z, who performed “Otis” at the VMAs with Kanye West.
Just in June, Knowles, who turns 30 on Sept. 4, and told Piers Morgan, “I always said I would have a baby at 30.”

Wow…I still can’t believe how people are trashing her album 4 (granted her latest videos are indeed bad, but not the songs). She decided to make a more mature album that isn’t as commercial as her other albums and people are aren’t having it (shocker). I love her new album and can’t stop listening to it. It has some good songs that have heart. She had a great performance at the VMA’s; she was singing her ass off. I love her…congrats on the pregnancy!

I didn’t watch the VMAs because I don’t have cable. But, I was sort of following along on Twitter while I browsed for post hurricane transit updates, and I did happen to see Lady Gaga’s drag king performance online.
Let me start off by saying that Madonna already did this routine about 17 or 18 years ago with “Bye Bye Baby”, and in many ways did it better. But, Gaga’s version was not without it’s charms. I found her “acting” to be more interesting than the actual musical performance though.
My two biggest questions were this; why is Gaga’s boy persona so angry all the time? And why did this country-like ballad need a dance break?!? If she had just cut out the dance break, I think the whole thing would have worked better.
Anyway, I hear she stayed in her boy persona for the entire show. I’m sure that must have been annoying to watch. So, I’m kind of glad I only caught the opening number.
She sang her ass off and I was a little worried that she was gonna pass out! I’m really happy for them cause she looked so happy and Jay looked so proud. Such a sweet moment.
I just KNEW you have the news of Beyonce’s pregnancy right away. I googled the words “Beyonce’s pregnancy”…and read that she is due in April. But that doesn’t seem quite right. Enquiring minds wanna know how far along she is. She was wearing sky high heels…and dancing like she wasn’t that far along. She did this booty drop at one point…and I got scared!
Well I was gonna tell you I told you so but you admitted you were wrong. LOL, I wasn’t gonna say I told so, I was gonna be really passive about it. Anyway Bey looks amazing and I am soo happy for her. Congrats Bey!!!! I was watching True Blood and then Real Housewives of New Jersey so I am about to catch the rerun of the VMAs in a second. Can’t wait to see all the stuff people were tweeting about.

For a first pregnancy, I’d say that’s a four-five month bump. I thought she was cute about it. She looks happy, good for her.
She looked lovely and happy. Beyonce has never sought publicity and speaks very sparingly of her personal life, so good for her that she revealed it on her own terms.

I thought it was definitely a very memorable moment and one of the highlights of the evening. Just so cute how Kanye kind of ribbed Jay-Z when he was having a happy little “proud papa” dance. Very sweet how she capped off her performance with that move.
Finally, a celebrity who may actually make a decent parent.

I am watching the VMAs (west coast). I couldn’t believe the looks on the faces of the celebs when Gaga strutted around at the beginning of the opening number. Jaw dropping and looks of puzzlement. What the hell is she trying to prove with this alter ego? God – she is truly ugly also.

The whole scene almost made me cry! Jay was so happy. Kanye patting him on the back, and the whole audience applauding-it was beautiful! So happy for them.
Loved the end of her performance when she smiled and rubbed her belly. She wss glowing. I loved that she didn’t pimp her pregnancy story to people magazine. She didn’t pimp her wedding pics either. I think I already know, so I’ll hazard a guess. She arrived in her “male alter ego” (like nobody saw that coming WEEKS ago), and then stripped. She seems quite enthusiastic about taking her clothes off for, you know, “not trying to send that message”.
Also, Gag isn’t that creative because save for 2009, we’ve all seen her “costumes” before the VMA’s.
@Venefica, Gaga just strutted around dressed as “male alter ego” Jo Calderone and sang.. She didn’t strip. Then as the award show went on, she stayed “in-character”. Basically, it was quite boring, because Gaga has been showcasing the Jo Calderone character for over a year now, and the character was front and center in the “You and I” album art and in the video.
Congrats to Bey! She looked glorious at the awards show!

And yeah, it’s said that a lot of people (including me) doubted that she was being sincere about having kids, but people have to concede that female HW celebs play the baby card for magazine covers. Myself, I would be thrilled if these women stop putting their hypothetical family planning schemes out there, especially when they do everything in their power to belie what they are saying i.e dating the wrong dudes.
I honestly never thought that they’d have kids. Beyonce has always struck me as too career-motivated to sire offspring.

America and the world’s biggest mistake was the big hoop la they made over Brad and Angie’s baby Shiloh, now all the stars seem to have the need to push their babies in our faces. Why does Beyonce believe we are so interested in her pregnancy. Brad and Angie are humanitarians they give back, that’s the diifference. Beyonce is a narcissistic attention seeker, who is looking for self promotion because of a bad album,hope she has a healthy baby for the child’s sake, but I am simply not interested in who she gives birth to. The world have been procreating since the year of one, not when Beyonce and JayZ announced.
