Michael Fassbender is blowing me a kiss. Motherf^(*&$!!!!! God, I love him. He must love me too. He just blew me a kiss. As if you couldn’t tell already, Fassie is still in Venice promoting his projects. These photos are from today’s photo call of Shame, plus a photo from Saturday and then Friday’s premiere of A Dangerous Method (I already covered the sexy flip-flop photo call photos here). I kind of forgot that Michael was also going to be promoting Shame at Venice too – that the film where he plays a (prepare yourselves) sex addict. The film has lots of flirting and Fassbender sex and I believe it has some dong shots too. I know it has ass shots. Basically, it’s my new favorite film.
You know what I love about My Fassbender? I think he must be a really nice guy who has a healthy relationship with women and sex, but he always plays sexual deviants. There’s just something about him that gets typecast as “the jailbait seducer” or “the spanker” or “the guy who can’t stop bangin’ every chick he sees”. He’ll probably round out his career by playing a toe-sucker and a fanatical ass man.
As for the men’s fashion part – for the Dangerous Method premiere, Michael wore a nice black suit and a gold tie, but… I don’t know. He doesn’t look RIGHT dressed up in formal clothes. He looks sexier in jeans, I guess. Well, he looks sexier naked. Or soaked in sweat. God, look at his beautiful hands. Look at his crooked smile! Look at his eye crinkles. Sigh… today is a good day. And we shall have many more good days, because Michael will be promoting his films all over the place for months. Prepare yourselves, Fass-loonies. It’s going to be an erotic Autumn.

I have to throw myself on the sword. I’m new to this whole Fassbender thing but OMG, I’m obsessed now! My real introduction to him was Jane Eyre, which I just purchased. Obsessed!!!! I’ve lived in Google & Youtube for the last week. Where have I been?! I’ve missed so much. He’s stunning. The man cleans up well but damn, jeans & t-shirts? Dead. Kaiser, I’m with you–I love the Fassdong and could watch him read the dictionary, happily. I, too, cannot wait to see shame for purely prurient reasons. However, have you read any reviews from Venice? It sounds depressing! His character is described as “full of rage” and “self loathing” and “most depressing sexy guy every” (I made that last one up but I’m extrapolating). I think he’ll be all kinds of hot in Shame, but I also think I’m going to leave the theater depressed as hell. It does not sound like “sexy” is the point. Also, there’s so much full-frontal it’s probably going to be NC17, so seeing it in theaters might be tricky.
Crimson – I felt the same way about Fish Tank! He’s so incredibly sexy in that film, but on the whole, the movie is so depressing. So I just re-watch the sex scenes. Esp. the part where he’s talking dirty (gah…)
@Crimson and Clover, The sex in the film should be depressing, if the filmmakers are going to keep it real. The premise of the film has always been clear: sex addition. So the sex will be mechanical, detached, and very self destructive. Nothing sexy about sex addiction. Sex addicts have repressed emotions, like other addicts. McQueen is an earnest and serious artist, so he’s not going to glamorize addiction.
I would expect to feel moved and sad if the movie served it’s purpose, but great films also leave you with a better understanding of humanity.
Btw, McQueen has said over and over again in interviews that he feels lucky to have Fassbender because he is the best actor in the world out there. This is very difficult and adult material and we are in good hands with Fassy.
