You gyus need to see Hunger he’s really exceptionnal in it, he also gave great performances in X-men and Inglorious Basterds, and he’s receiving rave reviews for his work in Shame. He’s definitely following in DDL’s footsteps.
Sorry, there is only one DDL and Fassbender is not it. He has a bit of seasoning to do before he hits Mr. Day-Lewis’ level.
I hate it when people compare one actor to another.They do this all the time with Clooney and Cary Grant.Please DDL is DDL and Micheal Fassbender is himself.No two actor are the same.Nor are they meant to be.
DDL gave tremendous performances no doubt but stop acting like no one could come close to him, he can be miscast too check Nine. Pete Postlethwaite stole the show from DDL in the name of the Father and was nothing but exceptionnal in Brass Off and even he never got just a third of the recognation that DDL have.
It’s like when people say that everything Meryl Streep does is great just because you know she’s Meryl Streep and can do no wrong.

He is absolutely amazing in “Hunger” and “Shame”. He steals the show from every actor he works with.
And everyone whose met he said he is an incredibly nice and happy guy.
I agree with Aqua. Fassbender himself dismisses that remark (and rightfully so) when people compare him to DDL, knowing that Day-Lewis in a league of his own.
As someone who admires his acting choices, i’m quite glad for the momentum he is currently on even though he’s been brilliant for years! However I’m not sure much good can come of comparisons like this. Most people don’t know the man and therefore think “Yeah right, DDL, are you kidding me? Who does this newcomer think he is?!”
Fassbender will go the way of Colin Farrell and a few others who showed promise but basically squandered it. Why does everyone think so he’s so hot? I think he’s good looking, but I live in NY and I see guys who look like him all the time. He’s a good actor though.

I like Fassbender and all, but my precious Daniel Day is incomparable.
Liv: I’ve seen a couple of his movies and he is a good actor. I thought he was great in Fish Tank. However, every few years Hollywood pushes the next the big thing on the public. First it was Farrell, then Gerard Butler, Cillian Murphy(I really like this guy too), Ryan Reynolds,Jonathan Rhys Meyers(he can still come back),and on and on. Only time will tell if he has a career that even comes close to DDL, that’s all I’m saying.
I liked him in Fishtank and I’m sure he’s been great in other films but the critics are really overdoing things here. As the poster above said they are just looking for the next big thing. Lookswise I don’t think he’s anything special. I’d take Jonathan Rhys Meyers any day
Well I’m on a Fassbender high right now, so I’m loving the guy. But definitely tired of the comparisons. The “so and so is the new so and so”. If I were him or any new actor with his talent, I would want to be in a league of my very own.

Yeah, I wondered about that bump. Looked way too big for being the end of the first trimester in a first pregnancy. I’m due a week or two after Beyonce supposedly is, and this is my second pregnancy (which means I’m showing earlier than would a first pregnancy) — but her VMA bump is way bigger than my bump.
*gasp!* Blasphemy. Fassbender is pretty good (from what I hear. I’ve literally never seen one of his movies), but to compare him to Daniel Day-Lewis?!?!? Sure, Day-Lewis is a mere mortal (may I never forget it), but he is in a league of his own and incredibly good. He’s never in tabloids. He’s hardly ever spotted. His work speaks for itself, and it’s pretty much a body of work to be envied by any other actor (albeit “NINE” wasn’t a good choice). Sidenote: DDL will always be my #1 celebrity crush. Even when he’s super old and arthritic. I’ll go be his at-home nurse. *wink*
