These are some new photos of the Moneyball premiere/sausage-party last night in Oakland. Surprisingly, Brad Pitt did not show up with Angelina Jolie. This bothers me. I mean, I’m not sitting here thinking, “Ooh, TROUBLE, I bet Angelina stormed out or Brad Pitt stormed out and now the gerbils will be left parentless!” I’m bothered that Brad Pitt did the solo outing because in the wake of his Parade interview (here and here for our coverage), I’m concerned that Brad is making it look like he thinks Angelina is a liability to him in his Oscar campaign. Which… maybe she is, maybe she isn’t. But Brad said what he said in Parade, and Angelina didn’t have anything to do with that interview, so why not just show the world a united front? It would have been smarter to do the carpet together. Eh, whatever.
UPDATE: Us Weekly reports that Brad was having a grand old time at the post-premiere party. He sounds super-drunk.

Kaiser Angelina wasn’t there because she was pissed that he got more coverage by mentioning Jen in his interview than he ever has by mentioning her.
Either that or she was to busy doing the washing and cooking for their six kids.
Angelina may never had planned to go to Oakland. Just because of some dumb ass controversy she should cancel whatever may have been planned instead? I don’t think so.
As for Brad leaving Angelina at home because it “hurts” his Oscar chances, I don’t believe that one bit. If she’s there or not people still know they’re a couple.
Maybe she got her period & felt like crap. Afterall, she is human.
Brad and Angelina have done premieres without each other before. There are a number of reasons that Angelina isn’t there…one and the only I can think of is they have children maybe one of them needed Angie. Who knows. I would hope people think Angie is with the babies or Angie is a woman, maybe she has cramps and stayed home instead of Brad wants to look good while campaigning for an Oscar. Thats just sad. LOL I would hate to be famous (not really). Instead of rational explanations for absences it always goes to image or campaigns.
Mr Sorkin will always have a place in my heart for creating Jed Bartlett.

I didn’t see Chris Pratt’s wife, Anna Faris, there either. Maybe they were doing a guys only premiere.
I’m actually going to just ignore Brad Pitt completely to say: Yay for Chris Pratt! He’s awesome on Parks & Rec–I’m glad to see more people discover him.
Couple of points:
(1) I like where Pitt is going with the suit, but there’s something…not quite right about it.
I think it’s cut wrong, and too baggy in some areas. Also, it’s too shiny. He’d look better in a three piece with a more matte finish, and a better cut.
(2) He also needs to cut his hair and shave. He is not hot enough to carry this off. Also, it’s never too late to wear sunscreen.
(3) Aaron Sorkin – no, just no. I feel everything going *up* at the thought of even touching him.
(4) Did anyone else think Jonah Hill was kinda cute when he was fat? Anyone? At all? So, it’s just me then.

Angelina was expected there. She even flew to CA with Brad…who knows what happened?
Maybe the Wonder-H0 got a call that she was needed in another part of the world. According to Brad in his Parade interview, she gets these calls to come help all the time, and actually helped solve the drought in East Africa……(uh huh).
Maybe she just didn’t want to deal with the mess he made. She’s has had to deal with so much crap from the media since she got with him, maybe she tried of it and told him to deal with this by himself for once.

Kaiser, just maybe they decided not to fly 6 kids to LA, 9+ hours each way from the UK to LA for a couple of days. Brad has a busy schedule of MB promotions then it is back to the UK for more WWZ filming.
Oh and that is why his hair and beard look like they do, he is in character for WWZ since June you know? Sometimes people just don’t have much of a brain and it shows in their comments.
Funny none of this Oscar seeking PR talk was made when Angelina flew all around the world promoting SALT by herself, or Brad flew to Berlin by himself to promote IB or to NYC to promote Megamind and The Time Traveler.

It’s a little weird that she didn’t show for a movie premiere that is generating award buzz for her man. They’ve been very good at demonstrating a united front whatever the rumors in the past. Maybe she’s upset that he inadvertently tarnished the ‘Brand,’ maybe she’s hurt that his ex still gets so much sympathy, maybe she just had other plans. His ‘waiting until all can marry’ justification seems flimsy–if he married the mother of his children, the triangle might finally die.

I checked the link for the Us Weekly article and I have to tell you this: that is an atrocious picture of Pitt. His chin looks ginormous in it.
These stayed home comments are funny.
1. Home right now is in Richmond UK, 9+ flight hours from Oakland.
2. I doubt that Angelina pays attention to what what said about his comments, after all he praised her to high heaven. He said “Angie is the woman I love”, and “I am so happy to have herin my life”.
3. Maybe Angelina, who has said from the beginning that marriage is not the highest priority to her is the one who is not in a hurry to try it again for the 3rd time as she keeps saying if people would listen, that for her things are fine the way they are.
4. US said Brad went to the afterparty for MB, stayed BRIEFLY, socialized. Same thing he did in NYC after Time Traveller premiere and in Berlin after IB premiere. Same thing all the actors in MB did. LOL
5. US also said Angelina and the kids are in the UK.
6. Tweets are that Brad will be on Ellen and Today Show this week for MB PR so he will be in the US for 3-4 days after arriving late Sunday nite. They were only in Toronto for 1.5 days and it is 4+ hours closer to the UK, told all there they had to hurry back tot he UK because they do not like to leave the kids alone for long.

Also, I highly doubt Angelina’s absence was Brad’s choice. Even selfishly, her presence would have been a plus for him to help calm the chatter. I think it was more likely her decision for whatever reason.
@rena – according to another post today on CB, Anna Farris was at the premiere of her movie last night as well. So maybe that’s why no one is really saying anything about it. She and her husband had their individual premieres on the same night.

Just read Lainey’s post on Brad showing up Angelina-less. I think Angie’s still edgy about the stuff Brad said in his last round of interviews (that backtrack was classic). Brad knows they’re stronger together, so I think this is more about Angelina not wanting to have new photos of them together with his quotes from those interviews tacked onto them.
@ND: I think his PR people, or possibly the PR experts of the money people may have decided that it wouldn’t be very beneficial for her to be there.
Or, they may have had a major dsagreement on how to deal with this and she decided that if he wasn’t going to do it her way, he could dig himself out of the hole he’s standing in.
As for the video, he said that he had heard she was on the plane, not that he had “heard” that “someone” saw her, and then went on to clearly state that she was in town and expected to be there. There was no ambiguity about it.
Has either of them ever missed the other’s premiere before this? Without comment on why? I don’t have a good memory (read: care) but I feel like they are usually together and hence the uproar. Especially since Brad hasn’t been quoted saying something cutesy like, “Angie is at home, tending the Littles.”

Popsugar reports that Angie was in England at Legoland with her kids. I don’t see why she has to fly 16-17 hrs just to appear at an event w/ Brad then fly back right afterwards. I think it makes more sense to just stay w/ the kids & have a mommy-&-me time there while Brad is off working.
It would look too desperate if Angie has to fly out with Brad over a 3-4 hr event. I guess they’re comfortable enough in their relationship that one doesn’t constantly have to be with the other all the time & can instead just be with the kids while the other one is at work.

Like how? How it could harm her or the movie (is that you’re alluding to?) PR wise to be with her life partner, father of her kids and so on? Could you explain the mechanism exactly?
And that reporter did not said she was there and was definitely expected. He said he HEARD she’s in town and “who knows she might turn up there”. He wasn’t certain about it at all and clearly had no solid info or official confirmation. Of course where there is one of them expected people hope the other turns up as well, that what happens most of the time after all. But this reported didn’t report any facts on the matter, only talked about what he heard and hoped.
So am I the only one who thinks PSH looks and sounds like a serial killer? I purposely WON’T watch movies if he’s in them. He gives me the creeps.

Maybe they didn’t want the kids dragged to CA and then back to UK in a short time. Traveling is exhausting, especially over that many time zones. To put kids through this all the time would be extremely selfish. That’s my take on it.
Re: Angelina hurting his Oscar chances, I am a bit confused. I think he’s a mediocre actor, but he is attractive and has movie star charisma. Angie is the better actor of the pair, and she actually HAS an Oscar, so I would think her presence would help him.

If Angelina didn’t attend the premiere because of Brad’s comments it’s a real shame. Brad didn’t say anything wrong. In fact, the question he was asked in Parade was: “In your younger days, you were not known for charitable work or, frankly seen as much of family man. Was there and event that changed how you saw the world?”
The poor guy was just answering a question about how he’s changed. And he answered honestly and was raked over the coals for it. The way people freaked out and thought Brad was saying Jen was boring speaks more to the image many people have of Jen Aniston (as boring and without substance), then anything Brad actually said.

Oh geez Angelina hasn’t always attended every premiere. She was in Toronto last week so she’s already seen this movie and TIFF was the bigger deal. This film is going to have a long haul promotion overseas and a possible Oscar run I bet she’s going to make some more appearances with Brad but not every one. OH and in general at premieres the guest list only goes on assumptions of who is in the movie. So it probably was decided weeks in advance that AJ wasn’t coming but putting Angelina out there on the press ticket creates more interest.

First of all, it’s September – too early to overtly ‘campaign’ for Oscar. The only exception was for A Mighty Heart, which brings me to the next thing. Typically, when he’s ‘campaigning’, his parents are usually there.

Angie didn’t fly to CA with Brad. She was photographed yesterday with the kids in Windsor, Berkshire, England. She took them to Legoland.

Brad looks beautiful in that suit. Amy Paschal looks years younger with the dark hair, the young Billy Bean is very handsome in a baby sort of way, Catherine Keener looks happy and great supporting her friend, and I’m happy that Oakland gets a chance to shine and be proud. Their winning streak is still the record.

I was saying if she, Brad, or their managment thought it was better she not attend because Brad’s innocent comments created such a ridiculous firestorm, it was a shame. I very much doubt that Ian Halperin took his lying ass to Ethiopia to interview Zahara’s birth mother. It sounds like he got his info from the article In Touch magazine ran with a headline blaring that Zahara was the result of a rape. That was a really disgusting, low thing to print even for In Touch.
Angelina adopted Zahara through an adoption agency; they provided Zahara’s background info. It’s not as though Angie went to a market place in Addis Ababa and paid off some woman for her child.
