I’m trying not to be negative about these new Michael Fassbender photos, where My Fassbender is in San Sebastian, Spain, promoting Shame at the San Sebastian Film Festival. I’m trying not to be negative when the first think that pops into my head is “Methy at the Beach”. And my second thought is, “Damn, I would bang the hell out of that methhead right at the shore line, in front of beachgoers, film critics and whoever else wanted to film it for posterity.” At the end of the day, any new photo of the Fassbender is going to be a good day, no matter if he looks crackie or not. For the record, I don’t think he’s actually crackie – I just think he photographs that way in candids sometimes, especially when he’s wearing sunglasses. Aw, he’s so cute. I love his shark smile. As for Fassie in Spain, and who he’s boning… I don’t know. I don’t know where Zoe Kravitz is, but my guess is that she didn’t join him. I do know that Clive Owen was sending us letters from San Sebastian just a few days ago, so is it too much to hope for another Dong Summit? Please let Clive and Michael met up once again. Please let parts of their bodies touch for a moment, man-skin on man-skin. Sigh…
In other Fassbender news, he’s now one of the leading contenders to take over George Clooney’s vacated lead in Steven Soderbergh’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Clooney pulled out last month, I think, after concerns about his old injuries and scheduling. Michael and Soderbergh worked together on Haywire, which will be released in January – that’s the film where (spoiler) Michael gets his head blown off in the first 20 minutes or so (it’s in the trailer!). The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is obviously based on the cold war spy show from the 1960s, and sources claim that Soderbergh is keeping the whole “Cold War spy in the 1960s” vibe for the film too. Fassie is just one of many names in the running for the American spy (there’s also a Russian spy that needs to be cast). Also in the running? Ryan Gosling, Alexander Skarsgard, Jon Hamm, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Soderbergh reportedly wants Joel Kinnaman (from The Killing) to play the Russian. I dont think its the shades that make him look crackie, I think it has more to do with the wrinkled nasty looking shirt he has on.
He looks like he parties pretty hard! I mean Alex Skarsgard is older than him and he doesn’t look near this old.
He doesn’t photograph well. Ever. On screen he is incredible. In interviews he is delicious but in photos he just doesn’t bring the hot.
Hmmmm… he needs to outgrow that haircut, lose a Zoe, pack on 10-15 lbs, climb into my bed and stay put!

Kaiser, et al., I didn’t get the Fassbender love before. I hadn’t seen him in anything, so I thought he was okay, but meh…. UNTIL I (finally) saw X-Men this past weekend. O..M..G.. he’s so… and his… and the voice…. (drools). Now I get it. I’m now on a Fassie film, interview catch-up. Oh… the grin… that grin is all knowing. (faints)

@Kaiser: Kaiser, I am making a huge effort to go and see Shame at New York Film festival just because of you. If I happen to bump into Fassie, it’s another huge effort to say hi and take a picture thinking of you and, of course, if this happens I will talk to him about you. Please don’t thank me, I know it’s a huge sacrifice on my part, but you deserve for all the great posts you provide us, :).
@ Turtle Dove: IB is divided into 5 chapters, if I recall, and each one is almost a standalone mini-movie, so you could almost start from Chapter 4 (Operation Kino, where MF has all his scenes) onwards and still understand the gist of it….but there are so many GREAT supporting actors (Christoph Waltz, Melanie Laurent, August Diehl, etc) that the entire movie makes Pitt’s accent and Eli Roth’s acting bearable 😉
p.s.: the great thing about discovering Mr. Fassbender is that as we get the chance to watch his filmography, there is something to relish in almost all the movies he makes. And he really does his best work in smaller pieces: e.g. Fish Tank and Hunger, so please don’t miss out on those! But make sure you didn’t eat a full meal before … it might make you nauseous.

He’s is absolutely a drunken, drug addict. I was looking a photos with Michael Fassbender and Zoe Kravitz at the Torronto Film Festival and to be honest, I don’t think it is Meth he is on. If you look at the green color of thier skin, which couldn’t be any different in shades. It looks like heroine they are on. It is so sad, because he’s is so talented!!!
