Last night was the premiere of Paul McCartney’s debut ballet, Ocean’s Kingdom. Paul wrote the music for the ballet, and he and all of his friends showed up to support him. Well, some of his friends. Sarah Jessica Parker was one of the big guests, probably because she’s somehow associated with the New York City Ballet… is she on the board? Is she the ballet ambassador? Something like that. Anyway, SJP wore this little lace dress that I feel very strongly about. I feel that this dress is really unattractive, in general, and it’s a damn tragedy on SJP. I mean…you already know how I feel about lace looks in general. So there’s that. And… look, she’s thin, she can pull off lots of different styles, so it’s not like her body looks “gross” in the dress. But it just feels like she’s showing way too much skin, and seriously, why for white lace? Sarah Jessica, you’re 46. Stop with the girlish, virginal, bridal, skin-bearing looks.
Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City (the books and the column) was there too. Candace has tweaked her face, correct? AND THOSE SHOES. Not with that dress, bitch.

And the man of the hour, Paul McCartney with his fiancée Nancy. They look lovely together.

I’m not a fan of lace either, but if this dress had the other shoulder and sleeve on it I think it would be ok. Minus the fug gardenia.

Actually, the lace dress looks more like grandmother’s tablecloth on a tramp run to me. She looks hideous.
Even the author doesn’t look good. Her dress should have been a little longer and her shoes are terrible with that dress.
The only woman who looks good is Nancy. Honestly, what are these women thinking?

If the dress hit right above her knee, it would be okay. As it is now, she’s way too old to wear it so short, and it looks ridiculous on her.

SJP is not aging well, which is really just a shame, since she seems to be photographed constantly. The flower does nothing for the dress, and SJP looks pinched and oddly contoured in every photo.

Eek! Too much sinewy flesh. And something about the lace and gardenia just add to the creepiness of the whole look.
I think she looks great.I really do not like the corsage though. Her body is amazing. She cleans up really well. I have seen paparazzi pictures of her which show her age. Now she looks 10 years younger.
Lose the corsage, add the other sleeve, make it knee length and for god’s sake feed her a cheeseburger, and this would look great.

I think this dress would look cute with the other sleeve, the neckline at the collar bone, hemmed at the knee and with a deep v in the back. And on someone younger–Cary Mulligan, maybe. And different shoes–the 90s mom shoes SJP has on aren’t working for me.
That is Faul McCartney…. I just stumbled upon a rumour that the REAL Paul passed in 1966 in a car accident which was covered up….. a conspiracy I tell you!!!

I really respect SJP, loved her as C.Bradshaw and honestly, people are really mean, they keep calling her hurtful names and mock her for no reason, as if people writing garbage were gorgeous or flawless. She is polite and has never been in scandals, I think her body is one of the best in Hollywood, and I envy her legs a lot!
One would imagine that the lacy/doily dress would “soften up” SJP. Quite the contrary. This dress just shows the stark contrast between feminine (the actual dress) and SJP’s wiry/veiny stick frame…NOT a good combo.
And yes…I think that Candace woman could’ve closed her eyes and blindly picked any other pair of shoes from her closet that would’ve paired better than the fugly one’s she’s wearing.
Also, Nancy looks nice w/exception being her shoes. She seems to have rather long feet, & those shoes just accentuate/draw attention to her long feet.
She needs to gain some weight or cover up. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – if you’re 40+ it looks good in your face/hands/legs/feet if you have a little extra body fat. She looks skeletal.
Helen Mirren looks younger than this piece of beef jerky. Her legs look gross.
Oh my goodness, I like SJP but this is not a good look, it’s screaming Miss Havershim’s long lost daughter to me.
Again, I think she looks great. I can understand “dressing your age” but it’s not like she’s in hotpants. She looks wonderful; I can’t for the life of me figure out why everyone bashes her constantly.
It’s not the design, it’s just that it doesn’t fit her frame or figure. at all. I’m surprised she made a mistake like this.
Girl needs to eat a cheeseburger! Her arms are about as gross as Madonna’s were. Madonna figured it out and stopped working out so much. SJP is too cute to go that route! SJP PLEASE EAT! You will look and feel much better, I promise.

Scary arm and look at her feet! They are just as scary and sinewy looking ! When you are so skinny that your feet are fugly there is a problem!
When I opened the thumbnail the first thing I said was Öh My God…she really look scary. If she had an extra 20 pounds on her the dress would look much better…she just looks awful.
I never watched Sex and the City.. but have caught the show on cable. Her face looks so different from the early shows. I know age plays a part, but her face seems to have elongated over the years. I think she is doing a Carrie Bradshaw with this outfit, and that time is over and done. Regardless of you figure and how “young” you feel, at some point you need to stop trying to dress like a 20 something.

I think if the dress would have been a different pattern/ material it would look good. The fit actually looks great but I’m not wowed by it. Plus she has a horse face to me.
