These are new photos of Kate Bosworth and her boyfriend of some-odd two months, Michael Polish, walking around Beverly Hills yesterday. The Bos played a little game with the paparazzi that she presumably called – she played “coy” and tried to “shield” her face from the lens, because she’s so famous and she didn’t want to make it so obvious that she called the photographers herself, I guess. I might buy the coy thing if only The Bos hadn’t made sure to “debut” Michael Polish as her jumpoff two seconds after she and Alexander Skarsgard were done. Oh, and she and Polish have already walked the red carpet with each other too! So what’s the point? Dunno.
I also love the strange was she and Michael Polish are contorting themselves as they walk down the street. Who holds hands like that? She’s clinging to him, walking behind him, practically on top of him and for what? All so she can fake-hide her face? WTF? The Bos is so bizarre.
About that sweater: I’m pretty sure I had that sweater when I was 13. It’s a very “Juniors Department at Sears” sweater. And this trend of baggy rolled jeans is very early 1990s too.
Massive side note: I know I’m late to the party on this one, but have you seen Kate’s Cotton commercial? It came out months ago, but it’s started airing all of the time on USA (where I watch NCIS marathons), so I’ve only really noticed it in the past few weeks. It’s AWFUL. And that is actually Kate singing. That’s her voice! What possessed her to “sing”? This makes me long for those annoying Zooey Deschanel Cotton ads – at least Zooey had a somewhat pleasant voice.

The only interesting thing about Kate was that she was boning Alex Skarsgaard. Now that he’s moved on, I don’t care a bit about her.
She’s annoying. I can’t believe people actually like her. There’s nothing redeeming about her to like. My teenager tried to get her autograph once (don’t blame me), she totally blew her off & said she didn’t have time. What?! My daughter then told her that she just lost one of her 5 fans. It was hilarious. Especially the look on KB’s face.

Of course these come out the same day photos of Skarsgard on his new movie set come out. This chick is SO obvious. It’s pathetic! He’s probably thanking his lucky stars to be rid of her boney arse.

She’s totally annoying and gross. And the former posters are right — she’s BORING. Unless she actually DOES something interesting, like getting caught with Goopy’s husband or her current flame declares he’s coming out of the closet or she’s sitting outside Alex Skarsgard’s house with binoculars and a tear-stained prom gown: I’M NOT INTERESTED!!!
She’s holding hands like that because she wants people to see the ring on her ring finger.

Jean, ignore the other two lonely fans (or probably one who is posting twice). If this behavior on the Bos’s part doesn’t underline what many of us have been thinking about her transparent ways, what does? She doesn’t have a career, she seems to feel she’s entitled to be a public figure, but why is she even on the radar ten years after the only film anyone ever watched that she was in. Skarsgard must thank his lucky stars every day that he scraped her off.
She’s a pretty girl. She has some acting skills, but no more than the rash of young actresses on TV that are on forgettable series. Nothing special, nothing noteworthy. It’s kinda sad that she is “newsworthy” only because of who she dates.

I’m trying something new today and catching up on Tivo while I work (and check in here 😉 ) – Anyway – It’s occurred to me that Kate looks quite a bit like that Taylor from RHOBH. Taylor’s face has been worked on but I bet she looked more like Kate before.
Also – I bet Kate loves this whole attention thing. The other day someone posted a video of she & ASkars leaving the movies and there were all kinds of paparazzi. Kate walks next to him, rubs his back and then slides her hand down to his and he totally shakes her off. I think this was before they were “out” as a couple. I think she’s the call the photogs type, for sure.

@cr – Stating the obvious, I know, right? She’s just one of those that grates. I don’t think people need to hide their faces with pillows and all of that, but I don’t think they need to call the paps, either. Just chose better projects? Have a more relevant career? I don’t know 😉
@ GiGi Or maybe choose a career you’re good at? I can’t imagine what that would be in her case, with her minimal education and life skills, and honestly, her days were numbered to begin with, she can’t play her looks forever, that when a starlet’s career fades. And she has no acting talent. Or learned technique. She says some lines, badly, and that’s it. Some have it, some learn it, she managed neither.
GiGi, indeed. If she took all the time she’s spent being papped (and preparing to be papped), she could have taken acting lessons, or jewelry design lessons or something useful.

I keep wondering this and I guess it’s incredibly naive, but how does one know if a celebrity actually calls the paps on themselves..? It’s not like there’s phone records. How is it known..?

@hairball – I’ve heard that the paps readily admit who calls them. There are a few videos of people talking to the paps (fans and such) and asking them how they knew where things are going down. Sometimes it’s the venue (restaurant, store, etc.) that calls it in to the company or the paps are already stationed in certain areas known for sightings, sometimes it’s through scouting sightings on twitter, and a good amount it’s the publicist or the actor themselves who call the paps and say, “hey, we’ll be here at such and such for such and such”. She’s not that in demand as an actress to have a steady pap attention, especially since she’s papped in odd non-hot spot locations like the vet, her doctor’s office, and homes of friends in private neighborhoods. It’s not just her though – a number of actors call themselves or have their publicist call for them. I think it’s common knowledge amongst the gossip/celebrity writers that the Bos will do anything and everything for the attention.

She could have a singing career in France with this breathy barely-singing schtick, though. She probably will.

I showed these pictures to my friend and I think she said it best: “Ugh, that’s such a depressed mom outfit.” She nailed it. Oversized sweater, baggy saggy jeans, and the price tag from Payless still on her shoe. Of course then I told her it was to have lunch in Beverly Hills and we both agreed that even a depressed mom wouldn’t go to Beverly Hills dressed that badly.
Why would one call the paps on themselves (which we all agree she did) dressed like that and acting so clingy?
