I’ve been meaning to devote a post to Lea Michele for more than a week now, so here are two sets of Lea photos for you. The photos where Lea is in the super-short navy ASOS dress are from the LA premiere of the new FX show, American Horror Story. The photos where Lea is in the long black dress are from Paris, where Lea attended the Karl Lagerfeld ready-to-wear show (or maybe it was a party or something – whatever, it involved Lagerfeld). Lea is obviously posing her ass off in all of the photos. Lea knows where the camera is. She loves the camera, although I’m not sure we can say the camera always loves her. I think Lea is a pretty girl, but in still photos, there’s often a drag queen element at play. I think it’s her jawline, plus unflattering hair styles, plus too much makeup, plus… I don’t know, maybe the way she strains her neck and shoulders as she’s posing? There’s a lot of “drag” happening here.
Lea also gave this totally bring interview about what colors she likes to wear:

The ‘Glee’ actress says she was told by the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, not to wear black for her first Golden Globe Awards but decided against his tip.She told InStyle.com: “Ryan Murphy had told me, ‘Don’t wear black. You should never wear black. So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colours. As I’m walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in her closet. I said ‘I’m wearing that.’ And I called Ryan, and said ‘Ryan, I’m wearing black!’”
However, it seems Ryan wasn’t upset about Lea not taking his advice as he recently praised her fashion choices.
He said: “When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes- but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.”

Please, she’s only a red carpet star in her own mind. In her own mind, she’s a legend already. Lea’s style is like her personality: overworked, trying too hard, and fussy.
Oh, and Ryan Murphy was right – she should be wearing bright colors or light colors. The blacks and the navys really weigh her down, but when she does softer florals, she looks really awesome.
I love her pose-faces. In her mind, she’s all “SEXY-FACE. WORK IT. FIERCE BITCH.” And her face is all “Wonk-eye. Mouth-breather. Drag queen.” Oh, and her bangs trauma is crooked, right? Or does the bitch just need to fix her wiglet?

Is anybody else amused that she’s wearing something from ASOS? How…weirdly normal!
That said, I love the black – it feels very 1920s flapper dress.
She just doesnt have much by way of a figure- very small breasts, thick waist and not a lot of definition to her butt and thighs. Its just not great clothes-horse figure so she will never be able to wear the hell out of clothes the way more genetically-blessed people do. If your body doesnt do all the work, you have to and just pick clothes better!
First dress needs 2 inches and less bangs, second dress needs a hemline above the knee, otherwise I love it.
I know she’s a piece of work, but I still think she has talent like nobodys business. Should be interesting to see what happens with her.

She just over poses. She needs to look at the women that OWN a RC carpet when they step on it. They don’t have to overdo it..just let the camera do the work.

When she’s just smiling naturally, like in the last picture, I think she looks fine and happy. But when she’s trying to work it, girl needs to chill.
Everything is fine but the nose (and personality). Cases like this are what nicely executed rhinoplasty is for. Alas, she should have gotten it done before she became famous…

1000X better with no bangs (though you’re right–the black is not working on her). Whey won’t she lose the bangs, at least for events? (I imagine she’s locked in to that bangs style for Glee).
Her over-posed face looks like she’s having constipation! Ugly! Why can’t you just smile naturally like you did in the last picture?
Does she look at these pictures (because you know Lea Michele must have her own name on google alert) and thinks she looks fine? That the posing is ok and Sarah Hyland had no reasons to mock her?

You’ll note that says High-Neck Cut Out Top, not High Neck Cut Out Dress.
She actually looks very pretty when the camera catches a genuine smile, but her forced poses are neither fierce nor sexy.

I think she’s adorable. Don’t like the navy shirt/dress thing and agree that she looks like she tries to hard to ‘pose’ but I like her. I think she’s cute.

The dresses are so so looking and her hair and makeup is pretty BUT the dresses dont work on her.

That hef will neva be Barbra so she needs to deal with that. I watched Glee last night. And I was FINALLY glad that Amber Riley’s Mercedes told the meffing truth! I feel that way about Amber and Lea in real life. Amber and Naya Rivera can sing circles around her without even trying.
I do love Rachel Berry, I don’t know why, but the minute she opens her mouth to sing, I cringe (except for the duet she did with Jessie St. James. Hello by Lionel Ritchie. That was awesome.)
I like bangs, but not with her jawline. And does she really have a music note(s) tattooed on her shoulder? Combined with her Glee role, something about that seems so cheesy/campy to me.
considering how short she is i can confidently say that dress is too short. if it’s cupping her bum i can only imagine where it would fall on a normal sized person… that aside… i’d probs squeeze into it for a night of dancing and shenanigans.

Blue dress is gorgeous except it needs to be longer, the bangs are hideous. And the faces she’s making? I never understand how celebrities can pose like that and take themselves seriously. It’s like “Blue Steel” from Zoolander! The only picture where her face looks decent is the last one where she’s smiling.
