Sigh… it’s a good day. New Michael Fassbender photos! Praise Jesus. Fassie was in Berlin for the premiere of A Dangerous Method. Alas, his hot partner in dong, Viggo Mortensen, was not at the premiere – it was just Fassie, David Cronenberg and some assorted German celebrities. Sidenote: Can I just say? Showtime has been playing Inglourious Basterds on an endless loop lately, and I keep getting stuck watching all of the Fassie parts. He was so pretty and wonderful in that film. I love him so much.
Anyway, last night he was wearing this great blue suit and tie. Dark colors work so much better on him than silvers, greys or even white. The last time I saw Fassie in a white t-shirt, I thought he looked methy. But even then, I wasn’t complaining. I love how many new photos there are of Fassie lately. I can’t wait for the American premieres of A Dangerous Method and Shame – those premieres should be coming in the next month. GAH! How will I be able to function?
Speaking of Shame, Fassie just got nominated for Lead Actor for a British Independent Film Award. Carey Mulligan got nominated too. Which leads me to wonder… when the nominations are being handed out in America, and the Oscar campaigns really begin in earnest, will people put any money behind Fassie to get him an Oscar nomination for Shame? The safer bet might be Best Supporting Actor (or lead?) for A Dangerous Method, but Shame is coming into the awards season with all of the buzz, and I bet you ten dollars Fassie gets a Golden Globe nomination for lead actor in a Drama for Shame. Sigh… Fassie on more red carpets! Seriously, how will I function?
I’m adding a few photos from the London Film Festival that I didn’t get around to using before. The photo where he’s looking soulful and slightly earnest (and dirty) while looking directly into the camera…? That’s why I love him. Because he is capable of giving me so much pleasure just with that expression that is part lust, part smirk, part naked earnestness. Jesus Christ, I love this man. I will totally marry him someday.

I am also really struggling with the allegations against him. There are lots of reasons why these types of things aren’t “proven,” such as when the woman is threatened and highly pressured to keep silent. He does take my breath away (save the teeth), but I still have my fish-eye on him.

@Sara, I’m with you on the other two (Ryan Reynolds really looks young for 35! He and Blake look around the same age, and that’s a compliment to him.), but I can totes believe Fassbender is younger than Leo. Leo looks puffy, doesn’t have good skin, and is balding.
About the allegations of abuse (apparently he and his girlfriend had a fight and he bit her)…if I’m not wrong, she accused him of battery, then later on dropped the charges and dismissed the request for a restraining order against him.
Here’s the thing: as there isn’t material evidence against him, we have a “he says, she says” type of situation. So if we want to cut him some slack and believe he’s uncapable of doing that or that he could be an abuser, it’s entirely up to us. The two (takes on their relationship can’t be right at the same time) and only time will tell.
He does not look old in person. I don’t understand why he looks so old in photos. Maybe it is the complexity of fair skin and ginger hair in the light/ photo setting.

There was even a thread about Kate Bosworth where someone posted as “Eve” (with a capital “e”) and I didn’t mind. Mostly because I sort of agreed with what she (whoever was) said there and because I don’t think she was pretending to be me (now, if she had posted using the Stefon gravatar, then started addressing people as if she was me…then I think I’d have been upset).
Got your back doll. I think it’s that same person who’s posting over and over anyway, so…. Other blogs are brutal for that and random people scoop a person’s name and post. It’s frustrating, although I do like when CB and Kaiser call people put on it and say who is the same person. LOL. I think that won me over and made me like Celebitchy more than another site.

MF is practically the only one other than David Cronenberg to do press for A Dangerous Method (and Shame); it’s been non-stop since at least August so it’s no wonder that he looks super tired as opposed to methy in most recent pictures. Having followed his career for awhile now, I agree with Eve (19) — loads of people can make comment/have opinions, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a reflection of reality. I like that Michael look a little rough, and doesn’t look like your average hollywood actor.
JJ can be brutal for comments. I stopped going there too. It’s almost as vicious as Perez for posting sometimes. There seems to be more of a community here. Not everyone agrees and sometimes have snark (which is fun too), but there’s supportive comments too which I find quite nice.
I visit CB daily just so i can hopefully get a Fassdong fix. As for the yellow teeth, he’s not American. Its common for Europeans not to be freaks about the color of their teeth. His teeth are normal for a smoker. What I find distracting are the bright as Las Vegas teeth Hollywood bobble heads are always flashing. No teeth, absolutely no teeth are naturally white. When did fake become the ‘what everybody should look like.’
Not that I don’t think Fassy is dongtastic at times(I mean check out the first part of Eden Lake). Lately though he looks like a Holocaust survivor. I’m sorry but when Mr.Brownstone comes knocking, just leave him alone.
@ podzol – the afi fest site crashed. by the time i got on, the shame tickets were gone (of course). i really want to see this movie now, but i guess we won’t have to wait long. i wanted to watch a dangerous method more than shame at first, but reports that adm is really slow are increasing!

Kaiser, the US premiere of A DANGEROUS METHOD was in LA on Oct 19. Only David Cronenberg showed – trust me that I made sure to attend but sadly did not get to meet the Fassdong… who, was promoting SHAME at the London Film Fest the weekend before and A DANGEROUS METHOD the weekend following. Sigh.
Anyway, his role in DANGEROUS METHOD is a lead one so he prob won’t be eligible for a supporting actor Oscar nom. Since actors can’t be nominated twice in the same category (eg: Ryan Gosling must choose between DRIVE or THE IDES OF MARCH), it appears that Fassie is throwing his weight behind promoting SHAME in the US.
Speaking of which… I have tickets to the LA premiere on Nov 9! Also on deck for a screening (hopefully with a McQueen/Fassdong/Mulligan Q&A) the day before!
Next week is my SHAME week – I CANNOT Wait!!!

The blue suit is gorgeous, better than the grey one. But he looks so tired, almost sad or something, which makes him a bit plain since still pictures don’t advantage him (go see his videos and watch the difference).
Anyway he’s so much sexier than Gosling IMO. Gosling is typically the Redford-blonde-type-of-guy-perfect-son-in-law. We had Redford, we had Pitt, we had DiCaprio, and now Gosling. Each decade its Prince Charmant…. but not for me, thanks.

Michael Fassbender is far from being “boring and meh and not star quality”, he is one among a rapidly dying breed “great actors”. Which means as an actor, he has the ability to totally become the character he is playing.
Beauty is as always, in the eyes of the beholder. As far as his looks are concerned, he is tall, fair, solid body and handsome.
Not gorgeous, not a pretty boy, but totally and completely “handsome”. This is from someone who is not hot for the man, but for his incredible talent as an actor!
People, give Fassy a break. He’s a phenomenal actor and painfully sexy. The only reason he looks “tired” and “methy” is because he’s been making a lot of appearances to promote ‘Shame’ and ‘A Dangerous Method.’ Not to mention, he’s one of the most sought out actors now, so he’s working non-stop on new films. Cut the ginger some slack, he’s just really busy.
