An 11-year-old girl “gets” George Clooney more than any of his girlfriends ever have. George Clooney’s shenanigans are obvious to small children. George Clooney is not trying to convince anyone that he likes children, ever. So, Clooney is still in Oscar-campaign mode, this time for The Descendants. Clooney plays a father of two daughters, one a teenager played by 19-year-old Shailene Woodley, and a younger girl played by 11-year-old Amara Miller. Shailene has been doing some red carpets and promotional work for the film, but this is one of the few times I’ve seen quotes from Amara – and now I know why. The kid is super-blunt, hilarious, and she pulls no punches. She sounds like a pistol, doesn’t she? Yeah, she took one look at Clooney and saw him for what he was: a man who has no interest in being a father. Why can’t adult ladies see this in him?
Any woman who wants George Clooney for her baby daddy might want to reconsider. According to Amara Miller, who plays the actor’s daughter in The Descendants, Clooney, 50, would not make a very good dad.
“Let me just say, he wouldn’t be good as a father,” Miller told Us Weekly at the movie’s premiere Tuesday in Beverly Hills, Calif. “He wouldn’t be the best as a father.”
Why not? “George likes being an adult,” she explained. “George has fun being an adult, and I don’t think he would like having kids. I know that he’s not planning on having kids anytime soon.”
But Miller did say Clooney was “really amazing… so fun and [always] playing and fooling around and joking.”
“He was just a really phenomenal person to work with,” she said. “[But] we don’t really keep in touch anymore. He’s George Clooney… No one really keeps in touch with him anymore!”
Another person who might agree that Clooney wouldn’t make the best dad? Ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, who told Italian broadcaster Bruno Vespa in his book This Love that the duo had “a father-daughter relationship.”
“We both decided it was time to split up,” she said. “George and I never spoke about marriage or children. I’m not saying that I don’t want them but neither he or I ever imagined having children together.”
[From Us Weekly]
Clooney is like every child’s wayward, playboy uncle who lets you sip his beer if you fetch him two aspirins for his hangover. He’s your dad’s best friend who always has a new, younger girlfriend, whho he flaunts around the barbeque, encouraging the men to leer at his young date and her new boobs (which he paid for). He’s your little-seen godfather who doesn’t pay any attention to you as you’re growing up, but suddenly takes an uncomfortable interest in you when you turn 18. Clooney is totally that guy.
But seriously, how funny is that an 11-year-old girl just called out Hollywood’s “most eligible” bachelor?

Love it! Reminds me of January Jones’ little co-star! Can’t fool kids!
Uhm, what she said is not exactly ‘calling out’. ‘I know that he’s not planning on having kids anytime soon.’ That’s no secret, he says it all the time, too. And what’s with the ‘anytime soon’? What, is he going to wait until he’s 75? How about NEVER?
Oh, and I don’t quite see how this relates to Clooney’s status as ‘Hollywood’s “most eligible” bachelor’, either. Does one have to like kids to be an eligible bachelor? I’m a girl and I don’t like kids. So for me, guys that have no desire to become a father are definitely the most ‘eligible’ ones. Just sayin’.
I really don’t like this guy anymore.
She’s a doll and very insightful.
I just love that she’s actually dressed like an 11 year old girl and not a tramp.
And Kaiser, you’re spot on about the single uncle who let’s you drink his beer if you bring him stuff & bring the inappropriately young dates to the family bbq. LoL My dad’s Cousin Bill was exactly like that (still is, & he’s pushing 70). Most of us have had that Peter Pan ‘uncle’ haven’t we?
That’s not really calling him out on anything.
He never claimed to be paternal.
If he knows he was that way and still had kids…THAT would be an issue.
Girl really didn’t say anything he hasn’t said himself many times before. He was always crystal clear about being absolutely not interested in marriage and kids.
Why do I have the feeling she’s been instructed to say so? If not, like Sweetpea said, it’s not like she’s revealing some big secret about him, she’s probably heard that hundreds of times. By the way, he’s getting boring, does he really have to keep the world updated with his not wanting wife and kids? I’m starting to believe he’s in denial.
During Oscar season, everything about George seems calculated. What better way to highlight how good you are as an actor than to keep talking about how much you don’t want kids while in a movie all about your relationship with your children. Therefore, he must be a great actor to be such a great father…next stop Oscar. (I might be wrong, but oscar campaigning annoys me–Portman did it and (don’t hate me) so did Bullock–and this just seems like a part of it.)
More insightful than all those idiots thrice her age dreaming of marriage with him.
Maybe he’s going to surprise everyone by actually getting that Stacey chick pregnant. Goodness knows everyone is tired of his bachelor persona and since the whole Canalis thing people have been giving his bearding practices a major side eye. He doesn’t even have to be in the kid’s life on a day to day in order to be considered a good dad ( society always expects the less, but gives the most praise to fathers). He wouldn’t be the first star to have a kid just for appearances. Plus it would be a major publicity coup for him and create a lot of Oscar buzz.
Those recent pictures of Clooney and Cray-Cray still crack me up; Her boobs look so much like Barbie boobs. Triangular and nippleless.
I thought he was snipped, so there are no kids in his future. Maybe I’m wrong.
She’s adorable and honest. Good for her!
I think he’s going to go down as a huge player in Hollywood, just how he wants to. We let women spray it their scum all over every trick in land, no different here. He loves hoes. I love that he loves hoes.
Gifts = Wealth distribution or something right? LOL
Am I the only one who finds this kind of sad? I don’t believe a person has to have kids to make their life complete, but George sounds like he might be a very lonely guy. Just sayin…
@jinni bite your tongue! Please don’t give Cray Cray anymore ideas than she already has in that brain of hers. She is already taking way more liberties than any previous girlfriend. Don’t need her getting knocked up too. Eeeewwww.
He is gay, people!
All these arranged “dates” with these bimbos are too calculated. He is so afraid of the gay rumours that he needs a woman on his side during the awards season no matter how embarrassing they are.
Cute that she’s so blunt, but I agree it’s nothing surprising. He’s always been pretty upfront about what he wants and doesn’t want, so it shouldn’t shock anyone.
George Clooney makes me laugh(at him). His image today is the polar opposite of his simple Kentucky beginnings, much like Johnny Depp from the same state. Run George run, but at the end of the day, you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy. If he was living in Kentucky, his actions would classify him as white trash, drifting from one lady to the next.
I think she is already pregnant (with all the liberties she is taking and his hard campaign), just saying…
ps: this girl is adorable. She is hilarious in the movie!!!
#15 Kali: Ha! All I’m saying is that it would give him a new shtick that hasn’t been done to death. I think people would believe his “relationships” were real if the women he choose appeared to be more on his level/equals. He gives off this classy, debonair, old school Hollywood image, but the women he chooses to be seen in public with throw a wrench in that facade. If he had a more rocker/bad boy image I think people wouldn’t have such a big problem believing he’d be interested in the chicks he chooses to have “relationships” with.
The child DID call him out for basically being a Narcissist!
He really is insufferable during this OScar campaign, he want that leading actor Oscar so badly.
He is such a joke.
I used to really like George, but lately he just really creeps me out!!! He needs to tone down the fake girlfriend, paid date thing or whatever he’s doing.. it’s so transparent 🙁
He has said many times before he is not interested in getting married or having kids, but these C-list girls always think or they dream of changing him. They want the Clooney title. Even if he did get married it wouldn’t last that long the girl would be in the marriage by herself. I also think he was fixed a long time ago, otherwise there would be a little clooneys running around. Enjoy the ride while it lasts Stacy.
Nailed it!
Smart girl. Let’s hope she manages to keep her wits about her as she gets older and continues to call it like she sees it. She won’t have any problem dealing with men if she’s already got them figured out at her young age.
I like this girl! May she stay this direct and forthright for life and maybe Hollywood not ruin her.
I love kids that age. They are smart and insightful and they tell it like it is. She seems to be bang on about Clooney – fun but likes “being an adult” i.e. doesn’t want to give up adult fun to look after anyone else. At least he’s honest about that much. Now if he’d only ‘fess up to being a dirty old man.
So tired of Clooney…he could be their grandpa…including Stacy Kiebler.
She’s actually a lot better spoken than some adults I know.
She is so cute . Clooney has always said he has no plans on haveing kids now , not never . I like the fact that he’s not ruining some poor Childs life is a good thing . I hope to god he dose not have some poor kid who would go in and out of jail . I feel so bad for people who have terrible parents . All the money in the world can not erase the pain of neglect . This man puts himself first and knows it ! Some people can not relate to children . Some people are just not capable of having lasting relationships . He should not be judged for his honesty . Listen , I have known men who gave in to the societal pressure to conform to the nesting and mating instinct . Their marriages turned out to be disasters and their children screwed up . No one should ever be pressured into marriage or children . This is something that should be a choice based a longing and a need and a willingness to put your family first , not yourself . So many people irresponsibly bring children into the world for the wrong reasons . These children suffer greatly when daddy or mommy think only of themselfs . These children are often neglected and resented because daddy can’t go to Los Vegas and chase hookers , because it’s their turn to have the kid .
Oh that’s hilarious. I love it when young people accurately call BS on the carefully laid PR images..Sarah Hyland’s comments on Lea Michele are in the same league as this. A significant part of Clooney’s PR still hangs on the premise of him being an eligible bachelor and some lucky woman will sweep him off his feet and have babies with him one day.
I love that an 11 year old has the wherewithall to describe George in such eloquent terms but it wasn’t a ‘calling out’. That would be if he claimed to want kids… he’s claimed just the opposite.
I don’t think George is gay. I have seen him up close once and ate next to him in a restaurant
another time. He could be bi. Or just a sleazy player. But my gaydar did not go off once.
So, I think he’s just self centered and into kinky sex.
How did this topic even come up? She’s a baby, for goodness’ sakes. I always get a bit itchy when I hear little kids talk about adults like they’re colleagues at Playskool Dollhouse A&M, but even if she is cute and correct in a non-revelatory way, who would ask an eleven-year-old about that crap? Who would ask anyone, actually?
Pray that decades down the line she isn’t the Dyan to his Cary.
Yuk!
Now all the teenagers about to turn 20 will be lining up at his door … creepy perv waiting on the other side
Why is old Georgie destroying his so carefully manufactured image so crudely?
Or am I mis-understanding something here?
” Listen , I have known men who gave in to the societal pressure to conform to the nesting and mating instinct . Their marriages turned out to be disasters and their children screwed up .”
Yup, same here. Not everyone is cut out for marriage. The sooner you know that, the better off you are, and never mind what society says you should do.
And some people can’t handle marriage because they’ve just got too many issues they haven’t resolved and they ‘re just not capable of having a proper adult relationship. Not that that’s Clooney’s problem – I just think he’s a dirty old man into REALLY kinky sex.
I know a guy who’s coming off his 3rd disasterous relationship, he’s in his 40s, and he’s only now admitting he’s got some serious issues, but he’s got kids…it’s just a mess. All because he had this idea in his head that he had to be married, so he went ahead and did it without even thinking about what that meant, for him, for his partner, in terms of compatibility, values, life goals, etc. etc.
“[But] we don’t really keep in touch anymore. He’s George Clooney… No one really keeps in touch with him anymore!”
?????
I’m sure he keeps in touch with LOTS of people. Just not you.
He is a wealthy actor, and you were lucky to have a tiny role with one of his many movies. He has NO reason to stay in touch with you.
He has a life. Looks like the kid does not.
Ramona I tend to agree with you. I think it is a little creepy that this 11 year old thinks adult actors are somehow supposed to stay in touch with everyone they work with.
Maybe HER parents are the ones not doing a good job. Clearly she does not understand reality.
