Ahh, I had forgotten this was happening last night. *slowly turns in Brangeloonie Merit Badge* In the Land of Blood and Honey premiered in LA last night, and the event was much bigger than the NYC premiere earlier this week. Angelina and Brad did another red carpet together, and I like this one so, so much more than the New York premiere. This time it’s all about how hot Angelina looks in her navy Romona Keveza gown – it’s fitted! It’s not a sack! HUZZAH. It looks great on her too, and love when she teases up her hair. Brad doesn’t look as hot as he did in NY, and I don’t know what’s happening with the big glasses. Is he trying to look intellectual, or does he really need them? He still looks good, granted, but my eye goes to Jolie.
Many of the stars of the film were there, including the two leads, Zana Marjanovic & Goran Kostic. Quick word about Goran Kostic: he’s rather sexy, right? All in black on this red carpet… he looks sort of like Daniel Craig with a weird nose – very unconventionally sexy. He has presence, I’ll give him that. And Zana is gorgeous – I’m including photos of Goran and Zana below.
Angelina’s drinking buddy (I’m assuming) and girl friend Gwen Stefani showed up to support Angie. As did Angelina’s dad. Meh on him, but I think Gwen looks kind of cute in her onesie.
Meanwhile, Angelina covers the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter, joint with Jennifer Yuh Nelson, director of Kung Fu Panda 2. THR has excerpts of their conversation here. Angelina admits at one point: “I’ve scored some points at home because of Kung Fu Panda. They love Tigress, who is my alternate personality. Otherwise, they think Brad and I are just so not cool.” She also talks about what she learned from Michael Winterbottom and Clint Eastwood, and how she personally financed a large chunk of ITLOBAH. The woman directed ONE movie that just came out two days ago and already they’re putting her on the cover to represent ‘The female directors- Inside Hollywood’s smallest club’? What about Kathryn Bigelow? Sofia Coppola? Those are ladies that already been around the block a few times.
I agree with everything you said. I admire Jolie’s effort and I have the feeling she did a great job but, honestly, it’s too soon for a cover like that. If only they had said something like “Kathryn Bigelow, Sofia Coppola and now Angelina Jolie…I think that would have been more reasonable.
They put her with Jennifer Yuh because BOTH are newest directors in town and that’s how they were defined in the cover.
Jennifer directed Kung Fu Panda II, that’s her first project in directing, before that she did more illustrating and storyboard stuff.
So true. I also think it’s too soon to start having her represent women directors when she’s still a novice. I get the feeling like all of these magazines just want an excuse to put her on the cover in order to help sales. I also worry that they’re (ex.media) building up her directorial debut to such heights only so they can make the fall that much harder if her movie is not well accept. The critics are always harder on people that dare to step out and do something they aren’t known for.

There were a snipset if i remembered saying something like those two just joined the very selective club as both have their first project as director released this year, one being the top grossing one for a female in the industry, and the second one gaining some buzz.
I agree about the cover – if you’re going do something on female directors (which is great, and I’m glad more women are doing it) then let those who have proven themselves get the honor of the cover.
Yes Kaiser Brad needs the glasses I remember in an interview he said once he hit 40 his eyesight started getting bad so I can only assume that 8 years later it got worse and the camera flashes don’t help.

I LOVED seeing AJ’s critics with egg all over their faces. 🙂 Admittedly it happens a lot lately, but it never gets old or tiring for me. 🙂 Her critics and haters will never, NEVER ever win so they should give up and stop wasting their time and give up as they only humiliate themselves. Angie shines and always will. Nothing will ever change that.

First I personally love this dress. Angie really brought it to this premiere. Good for her.
Here however is why this blog is so entertaining. For the first premiere her dress was terrible. However the “loons” insisted that she dressed this way so as not to overshadow the other actors and so that the movie would be considered serious. Instead of just saying – wow what a horrible choice. The stuff they come up with is so entertaining.
As for the whole “tour” and magazines. Yes I agree they are pushing her to much. What is to weird for the cover however is the fact that Angie’s hair is wind blown (common for models) and the other directors is not. Just makes it look weird – they both should have done the same thing.
And um could she do something different with her hair – it has been the same now for ten years.
I like the dress a lot, and I like that it’s navy. If it was any other color it would be something entirely different.

Angie does look beautiful. I like Brad’s glasses fine, but I hate the suit. Brad used to wear the hell out of a suit but he seems to have lost all his muscle tone and so they now just hang on him. Everybody always comments on Angie’s weight, but I think Brad is the one who has lost too much. I still love him, but he is really starting to take on a grandpa appearance. He probably shuffles down the red carpet.

Uggh, who are you to say that her body is not “womanly”? Some women are naturally thin. They still have all the woman parts and I dare say plenty of men want to sleep with them. If you look back at old pictures of Brad, you’ll see that he’s completely changed his whole look depending on who he was dating at the time. It’s actually pretty creepy. Like he has no personality of his own and just morphs into his latest girlfriend.
I think there is a lot of truth to this observation: There is the picture that he has with Goopy where they have matching lesbian haircuts; when he was with Jen he was all Mr. Malibu beachy cool; with Juliette Lewis he was completely stoner, redneck, rocker type; and now with Angie he is Mr. bohemian, professor type.

Brad had that yellow hair for a part where he portrayed a REAL PERSON- Heinrich Harrer- in 7 Years in Tibet- Goopy then COPIED him…did he look like a stoner w/ Julitte & Jen- of course- because as he admitted, HE WAS A STONER- just like his ladies, or were they like him?? No matter. ALMOST every hair style/look Brad has has over the years can be directly traced to a movie role- the mustache (Inglourius B), the current long hair (WWZ), the dyed black/brown hair folks tried to claim that he was copying Angie (Jesse James). His monochrome clothing may be a copy of Angie, but they both seem to want to keep it simple and have no qualms about repeating outfits- makes sense with all the kids & the traveling.
I think AJ is looking gorgeous! Rough? No way! She looks great when she shows off her figure and wears something tailored. I hope Gwen can become her bestie, she hinted in a previous article that she doesnt have girlfriends. Brad looked better at the other premiere but still looks good here. BTW, I think Brad may need vision correction but opts for the glasses versus contacts when he likes the look of it. Many others do this. I think Justim Timberlake does it too. Nothing wrong with that.

Does anyone else find it strange that one of Angelina’s few female friends is Gwen Stefani? What could they possibly have in common besides being in the spotlight and children? Angelina is intelligent, articulate, well rounded, tries to make the world a better place, and travels the world looking for adventure. Gwen is all about makeup and fashion. She comes across as an airhead in interviews. In one interview she mentioned that some days it can take her hours to dress because she can’t bear to leave the house wearing the wrong outfit.

I cannot stand this couple. He’s about 4 days past needing a shower and that damn woman is way too skinny. Its actually gross. The dress she has on, however, its gorgeous and fits like a dream.
Fantastic dress, very flattering for a change. Hopefully next time her stylist will choose the right hair, shoes, and makeup to go with. But what is up with those two? They look so wan lately.

They are gearing up for something. Her movie is being raved about. Offers coming left and right. Brad beaming. Cast on heavenly clouds. Jolie grabbed the bull by the horn.

Angelina’s dress looks fabulous, but I don’t care for her hair. As for Brad’s glasses, they don’t seem to be corrective. Having worn glasses for most of my childhood, you can tell when someone is wearing a corrective lens or when they’re wearing glasses with plain glass in them. His appears to be the latter, though why he would wear those ugly things for fashion, God knows.
i think he wears them as part of being taken more seriously by the academy campaign, lol.
angie’s dress is gorgeous but what are those shoes really. and they look a bit too summery for pre-xmas season.
Those glasses look like the freebie readers they pass out at the shelter. I think Angelina puts these looks together for him to keep other women away. At least the goat beard era is over.
Pitt appears to be stoned out of his mind and Jolie, well, her body is starting to resemble that of a lollipop. Big head (mouth too) and stick body!
