Bruce Springsteen and Obama in Cleveland

Barak Obama did some last minute campaigning this weekend. With the election on Tuesday, Obama covered some of Ohio’s most important cities including Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Longtime Democrat Bruce Springsteen sang at a really in Cleveland and was joined on stage with his wife Patti and the Obamas.

Sunday, with just two days left, Barack Obama woke in Missouri and flew to Ohio to canvas the state. After a rally in Columbus, Obama, along with wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia, flew to Cleveland for another rally. There Obama was joined by supporter Bruce Springsteen, who also came with his wife Patti and son Sam. Then it was to Cincinnati.

One of my roommates has been volunteering for the Obama campaign for the last month and I’m truly amazed to hear about all the incredibly hard work people around the country have put into his campaign. This is a man that clearly garners a great deal of respect and admiration and arouses a lot of excitement in many people. Looking at the photos below says so much about how moved his supporters are. They’re truly emotional, passionate pictures.

Tomorrow’s a future-changing day. No matter who you support, make sure you vote!

EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE TOMORROW.

REGARDLESS OF WHO YOU SUPPORT, BE PART OF THE PROCESS AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD.

AS FOR ME I SAY…GO OBAMA GO!

Do celebrities really help anyone get elected?
Is there any data on this?

Great photos…I am so excited and tense about tomorrow.

Springsteen is such an amazing story teller! I thought he did a great job and as usual Obama was sincere and well spoken.

I just read that Obama’s grandmother has died, one day before the election. How sad for him 🙁

  6. Syko says:

Oh, that is sad, Stellapurdy, to think she could not see her grandson make history.

He was here today. Of course you don’t ask off work to go see Obama when the big boss is a virulent McCain supporter, but I did get to see his motorcade after his rally. I couldn’t have gotten in anyway, people slept out all night to be first in line.

I do have to say, though, that this weekend I got several telephone calls, all from Obama campaigners, wanting to remind me to vote, ask if I needed assistance getting to the polls, and ask if I supported Obama. I have yet to receive a telephone call from anyone affiliated with McCain. Just shows who’s working hardest!

  7. Blue says:

Shame his grandma couldn’t have hung on a few more days to see how that whole election thing turned out, but I guess Death waits on no one.

And I am hoping McCain wins, anyway.

Just found out about Obama’s grandmother. every news network except for Faux News is reporting on it- they’re still trying to make misleading associations between him and whatever evil character du jour they can pull out of their asses.

Last night of political advertising bombardment and I for one am GLAD.

Dante, I just saw the coverage on the death of Sen. Obama’s grandmother on Fox at the top of the hour. 5PM Eastern.

I do have to agree about the pol ads, I don’t see many thanks to TiVo.

  10. Bros says:

so sad that she didnt live to see the day her grandbaby got to be the president. my heart goes out to him. the only thing thats comforting is that maybe she knew what the outcome would be and knew she could go in peace.

  11. vdantev says:

@Daisy424: So Faux News isn’t totally slow on the uptake. At the time I was watching, my statement was accurate. That’s good, but I’m sure they’ve worked out why they hadn’t reported on the death as being the fault of the liberal media conspiracy, or Obama’s connection to Ayers.

    Joe the Plumber!!!

  12. Leandra says:

One more day but I’m sure in her heart she thought he would win and I hope that will be the case.

  13. Chun Li says:

I went to the rally! It was very inspiring. A lot of people have a lot of hope in this one man. I hope if he’s elected, he can live up to all of it.

Obviously, I think he will. After all, I am voting for him!

I find that when celebrities endorse and advocate for politicians, they take away ones integrity, and thought development that makes them responsible. I have appreciated some of Springsteens music over the years. However I would never allow his political views or that of any celeb to sway my decision on how I cast my vote. Bruce and others would like us to believe that what they preach to us is gold. He is no more than an adequate musician and songwriter. People in his position should allow voters to experience the process of making such a grand decision; Bruce should not spoon feed his own personal agenda on the weak souls that support his musical habit.

  15. daisy424 says:

    @gladiator
    well said 😉

  16. Lizzy says:

As citizens, celebrities are allowed to endorse any candidate they wish. No one has to listen. I like his music, but I wouldn’t do whatever he tells me. But it’s his right to support whoever he wants to, just as all of us regular citizens are allowed to attend rallies and promote our cadidate of choice. Something tells me if the celebrity endorsements were more evenly spread among democrats AND republications, less people on the right would be complaining.

  17. kate says:

both sides use celebs…it’s just that the democrats tend to have better ones 😉
