Maybe it was just the light, maybe it was just some extra-glossy lipstick, but whatever it was, Nicole Kidman’s lips looked out of control at last night’s Golden Globes. What’s weird is that I actually think Nicole has eased up somewhat on the Botox – her face was moving, she didn’t seem to be made of unbreakable porcelain, she was emoting… and then the lips. Did she just get them done (again) for the Globes? Does she have some kind of permanent lip implant in there? I‘m including some closeups of her face so you can decide.
So, Nicole was at the Globes with her husband Keith Urban. Nicole was there to present – with Clive Owen!! – and promote Hemingway & Gellhorn, the HBO movie she and Clive did together. Nicole wore this studded Versace gown which… on one hand, I like it. It flatters her body, it’s not a sack, it’s not a lace doily, and it’s not overly frilly, which it what Nicole does too often. I like the idea of Nicole in studded Versace – she used to be more rock n’ roll, and studded Versace is always a good idea. That being said, it’s still too light for Nicole. It washes her out. And the bust on the dress makes her tatas look super-fake and bolt-on-y. Which they very well might be, but still.
As for her hair and makeup – just shoot me because I think her hair looked fine. I would complain about another woman with her long hair worn down and worn simply, but it kind of works on Nicole, and I’m not hating it. Her makeup is fine… except for the lipstick, which just draws attention to her lip-jacking.

That dress looks horrendous on her. It is waaaaay toooooo tight; her body looks like it was stuffed into it like a sausage in a casing; her boobs are bursting out of the cups which are too far apart and too much to the sides, not to mention a size or two too small! From the side she looked like a hooker with boobs falling out of the top.
I agree that she has a great figure, and nothing wrong with trying to showcase it, but mercy me, choose something that actaully will do you favors, instead of the opposite.
The color is just soooo plain, and on her very pale skin it completely disappears – there is no Nic, there is no dress, there are just the studs floating in the air.
Worst of all, she does not seem comfortable in this dress, instead standing and behaving as if she worried it might burst on her at any moment – which it might as well have done, seeing as to how tightly stuffed into it she is.
The area above the cleavage looks bad too – it seems like there is some side-boobage going on that was taped into the cups instead and as a result it all bunches and folds up on top making her look like she has some major fat/back fat going on.
Overall, a really bad choice. Nic – it is time to start dressing your age. This dress would have been a gem on a 20-something with a sun-kissed or even dark complexion. But then it is nothing new – since her split from TC she appears to have been ‘dropped’ by her former stylist, and her fashion choices are one long stream of disasters…
@traVail: hear here! agree 100% wish you were on that fashion police show instead of the dippy drippy and clueless G Rancic, Osbourne, and whoever else. YOU have got the eye for assessing what works and what doesn’t. Kudos to you!
I’m glad she tried something that isn’t a run-of-the-mill gown. The detailing is very interesting & I think it is very sweet that Keith takes a big step back and lets Nic have a moment.
Agree. She was absolutely stunning. I think Keith knew she was a knockout; after she would have a few solo pics, he ran up and held her hand. He is proud of her, they are so adorable (and sexy!) together.

Her lips may not look perfect but they look so much better now because she didn’t have ANY lips at all before, thin lips are so unattractive.

On tv she looked amazing and her lips didn’t look so jacked up to me then. I was like, “Yes! There’s the old Nicole”. Now I’m seeing these pics and seeing the lips are still jacked up. I love her dress though and think that overall she looked great.

I actually really like this on Nicole. The colour is slightly too light – I’d have loved it in a darker blue-grey – but overall this is one of her best appearances in ages.
I LOVED this dress. It was my favorite of the night along with Emma Stone’s & Salma Hayek’s. I thought it worked on Kidman in part because of her pale skin.
But color aside…THAT TAILORING fit like a glove and made her body look amazing. Gorgeous dress. Though from a color viewpoint, I think it would have looked better in black.
THIS kind of dress in black, with the same detailing, is what I wish the Jolie would bust out at the Oscars.
Hmmmm…. That suggestion for Jolie would never have occurred to me, but I think you’re onto something there….. She’d want to make it a bit more daring somehow. Maybe a super dominatrix look with multiple straps in the back?
Is it me or does she look as though she might have eaten a sandwich sometime in the past five years? Bodywise this is the sexiest she’s looked for ages. And actually I like the dress and styling, although I mourn the red hair. *sorrow*

Watched PRACTICAL MAGIC this weekend, and her lips are so thin, i think she’s got an implant in her upper lip.
I’d like the dress better without the “neck harness”. Nicole looks like she’s really enjoying the evening which always brings out the beauty in a woman, unlike Keith who looks like he’d rather be any place else but he loves his wife and so he’s there for her….take note Mr. Paltrow.
I believe her lips look the same as they have for years. It looks like she had lip surgery, not that she injects them.

Her lips are fine. She was flat-out stunning. Very beautiful. So happy with her back to her auburn hair. The simplicity of the style worked with her dress. When she took that walk out on stage to present, you could see the beauty of the dress on her.
Keith Urban is a hottie. He is like a rocker on stage. Love me. And I am not really a country fan, but I bought his eight song album, Get Closer. That man loves that woman.

Please see her sister Antonia…no visible enhancement, wrinkles etc and yet she is stunning. Given that they are dopplegangers, i think this is what Nicole would have looked like without the enhancements.

I liked her whole look except the hair was a bit too flat/frizzy. Maybe soft waves would have worked better. I also think her face looks slightly less frozen. And I couldn’t help but think she looked better matched with Clive than with Keith!

Definitely looked far better than she has in a long time. The dress is amazing. With her coloring a little darker would have been better; perhaps a darker beige/light brown. I would also love to see her darken her hair just a shade or two and make it a richer red. If she did that her eyes would POP.
The only real flaw is that upper lip. She clearly has some sort of implant and it just doesn’t work.
This is the best she has looked in years. The dress was perfect, I loved the color. She has gained weight and she is clearly happily in love. Well done Nicole!

Don’t like the dress at all and I wish she’d go back to that dark auburn shade for her hair (circa Moulin Rouge). She looks so washed out with it light imo.
I think she looked great, the only thing I didn’t like about the dress was the studs on her boobs, they made it look like nipples in the wrong place. She looked like she was having a good time.

Seriously, check out the scene from Practical Magic, where she is onscreen for the first time with Goran V., whose last name I can never spell. Or any of her earlier movies. The upper teeth — the gums!!– come out farther than they ever did before. I swear it is not just whatever f***uppery she is doing with her lips.
