Blake Lively attended a screening of Haywire in NYC last night. Thank God Michael Fassbender wasn’t there, because I don’t even know what kind of hissy fit I would have if Fassy and Blake Lively were in the same contained place. I would just need to rip her hair out. It’s bad enough that she was in the same contained location as Ewan McGregor!!! What must Ewan think of Blake? He probably likes her. Dudes always like Blake. Anyway, we don’t have access to the red carpet photos – you can see them here. We only some photos of Blake leaving the screening, which I’ve included at the end of the post. I just really wanted to use the old “Chanel Ho” photo for the header.
As you can imagine, Blake did the appearance because she’s just signed on to Steven Soderbergh’s new film – how best to support your new director than by going to see his latest film? We discussed her Soderbergh film last week – she got the lead! And she’ll have to “act” too. Because Blake is a real actress! We’ll see about that, Lively. We’ll see.
I just had to mention this, though – Lainey at LaineyGossip says that Blake’s team has already been reaching out to Academy Awards producers for a possible presenting gig for Blake. Which… would be interesting. I’m surprised Blake didn’t angle herself at the Oscars last year, when The Town was up for a few awards? Maybe she tried to angle and failed – whatever happened, if Blake managed to get a presenter slot, it would be her first time at the Oscars. I have mixed feelings about Blake, totally, but I enjoy talking about her and speculating about her, so I would totally welcome this. I actively WANT to see Blake on the Oscars red carpet. I was to see what kind of assy, titsy crap she wears. Would she wear Marchesa?!?! Or Chanel? And if she presents, I want to see her paired with someone awful, like Bradley Cooper, and see her try to angle it into her advantage. I want to see Blake run into (possible nominee) Leonardo DiCaprio. See – Blake is good for ratings! They should just put a camera on her and I would watch the whole live feed.

Ugh no just no! She will get to present but someone talented like FELICITY JONES will be left out because she does not have the hussle and shamlessness of Lively. This is just irritating.

Isn’t she!!! I was so happy she got the Dolce and GAbbana contract. She looked fantastic at the Golden Globes after parties in a white Valentino.
I haven’t seen jack all of Jones’ work but I’m excited about her as a “new starlet”.
And she could take Ryan as her date and we’ll get real, actual pictures of them as a couple! Yeah, I cosign this. Hope she gets a slot.

Just for the record Lainey never said Jahnny and Vanessa are 100% fine she jsut said that based on the source (which was Star and Radar) she was not taking the story seriously, when it popped on People her analysis of the situation was Gossip brilliance.
LAiney never said that Ryan and Blake would be at the Globes she just said that there is a strong possibility since he has a movie coming out in February.
And Blake keeping a low profile come on now!! The “candids” in Utah, pssssh, the mentions in PAge Six. Not to mention the whole Leo affair (and how public it was) and then making sure everyone knows she “dumped” him for Reynolds.Nothing is low profile about this girl.

Long before Leo and Blake had broken up she claimed Ryan was not interested, at the same time Blake was badgering Leo to take her to the Oscars! Until the story broke that BLEO had been over for a month
Then suspected Blake did not attend TIFF sans warning, cos of Leo. Never mind that several Canadian websites had already announced that she and most of the Hick cast were not going to be there in the first place she simply turned the tale around as Blake possibly off to Australia to look like she’s in the know.

Almost everyone else was able to deduce that Lainey was ticked off that she had made a wrong call and considering how she always writes love letters about Canandians ( shes the only one that believes Ryan G and Eva M are real love while trashing Bradely C and Zoe Saldana). She rejigged the story to make Ryan R look like the hero rather than second choice and pretend that was the plan she was in on it all along!
She’s witty, great to read and does get stuff spot on. But unlike you I also know she can be full of BS.
We’ll see how true her Oscar story is. Of course if Blake is a no show she can claim they nixed her as opposed to it been made up.

I never said Blake told Lainey anything that would be ridiculous, so I kind of don’t get why you said that.
It’s obvious you are a fan or in some way work for her or her team, I don;t know.

Funny you should mention Turtle Dove. She’s one of my favorite posters too. I think TD finds Blake amusing, but isn’t a fan. I wrote some anti-Blake stuff in the following CB post which she seconded with a “here, here”

I sincerely don’t mean this as a slam to her, but in the cover photo for this article (not any of the ones listed here) there is something about her smile and the way her head is tilted that makes her look a lot like the actor Ben McKenzie (Southland). Does anyone else see the similiarity? Like they could be brother and sister. Weird, I know, but that was the first thing I thought of when I saw her pic.

What is your favorite piece of work performed by Blake?
While there’s some people here who love to hate, others have an opinion of her talent. I personally thinks she wastes her time on boys and needs to take further acting classes to be the sort of actress she pretends she is. I’ve seen her “serious” movies and she was the weakest link in the acting, and continues to be so.
I understand the need to be a person who goes against the wave, but in this case a bad actress is a bad actress. That’s the way it is until she decides to work on her craft.
As far as acting goes, she’s not Meryl Streep, but she was really good in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (I haven’t seen the Town).
I don’t mind the “I’m annoyed because she doesn’t have talent” comments, what bothers me is the “she is the nastiest whore and I want her dead” comments. It is getting worse and worse.

I don’t get this lumping of posters together like Gorry did above to try to prove a point. I have certain posters I prefer too, but I don’t use them to slam other commentators. It’s mean-girling imo.
And you’ll never see me on a Brandi Granville or Real housewives thread. We gravitate towards the stories and stars that interest us. So while I am not pro-Blake I do love her in a way because I find her so entertaining. Wishing death is tots extreme so I hope that the poster was kidding there.
This, and she, is just ridiculous! I mean she is NOT talented, she’s only pretty. She has no acting range and simply talks lines while looking pretty. Her choice of characters in her movies are too obvious and unimaginative, boring. She should take notes from better actresses who started in the indie world to learn more about acting. If she continues to be too lazy to do the work, and needs a break from fucking her way onto movie sets, she could always use her short attention span to watch youtube clips.

Wishing someone dead….well, that is extreme. I’m not a Blake fan, because I don’t think she can act, and it annoys me to no end that she gets pushed as some sort of beauty. (Plus, IIRC, her family is well known in Hollywood, and I have a feeling nepotism helped her get her foot in the door.)
But what she does doesn’t have any bearing on my life whatsoever, so if she wants to present an Oscar, then fine. I agree with whoever said that that is the closest she’ll ever get to one.
