for me it her hair and lipstick. that color isn’t great, i miss her as a ginger a la Devil Wears Prada, i loved that on her. and her lips are too pinky. but that dress color is beautiful.
for me its because the dress looks like a fugly 80’s prom dress from the drop-waist up. yech. a more fashion forward cut and the color could have worked.
That’s not a jewel tone – jewel tones are dark and intense, not almost fluorescent green.

I call that color a Benetton green. It’s very specific to Benetton colors, with the fushia, yellow, and that specific shade of green.
On my screen it doesn’t look fluourescent, just some what bright.
Maybe in person it was nice. Remember a few years ago when Michelle Williams wore what looked like a mustard yellow gown? I bet the color just didn’t translate well on film.

Update: Went over to the FUG girls. Voters gave the dress an overwhelming 83% “Fantastic” on the color. Still don’t know the design house, though.

Oh no, this dress was actually beautiful! The color it is showing up in these pictures is a little off from what it was in real life (or, on my TV!). It was a grass green, or kelly green, which is a very hot color right now!

I like the dress design but it would have been much better in emerald on her. Plus, I think her lip color has a slight orangey tint and that does not compliment the dress. I would have put her in a lighter and more pink lip color.

Love the color. Smart to do on a simple dress. Different is what she was going for, and it is, but still flattering.
I think the dress styling looks good on her and she wears it well, but I definitely would have gone for a deeper blue, maybe even a royal blue, or even a soft blue, but this color has green in it and it doesn’t appeal to me at all. I like Blunt and I’m glad she found love with her husband and the thing with Michael Buble ended because I don’t consider him a good or faithful person.

I love the dress. I think the color isn’t bright at alll. It is gorgeous, and has a pastel quality to it. The style is feminine but not too frilly. I thought Angelina’s dress looked sinister. She really needs to put on some weight.
I don’t consider that a jewel tone. Maybe it is, but I always considered a much deeper Emerald green a jewel tone.
