Everyone who has seen X-Men: First Class knows that Jennifer Lawrence has a bangin’ body. She played the young Mystique, complete with the extensive body-paint/makeup and nudity that the part required. So, I already knew that the girl has a lovely, healthy-looking figure with, frankly, awesome boobs. Unfortunately for all of us who love to see a healthy young woman embrace her figure, Jennifer Lawrence’s style during The Hunger Games promotion has been a series of unflattering gowns and uncomfortable-looking cocktail dresses. Mostly “miss”. It’s like her stylist doesn’t know Jennifer’s strengths.
Yesterday, Jennifer was promoting THG in New York, where she made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, AND did the NYC premiere, AND a book signing. She showed off three different looks, with varying degrees of success. This green Calvin Klein was… not my favorite, but not my least favorite either. The best thing I can say about it is that at least J-Law’s assets are finally being shown off. The worst thing I can say about it is that when she sitting down, it definitely seems like her girls need a tad more support. Oh, and I do love Jennifer in this color. She looks beautiful in green.
This was my least favorite dress, which J-Law wore going into the Ed Sullivan theater. It’s by Raoul. It doesn’t suit her body type.
My favorite was this Prabal Gurung dress that Jennifer wore coming out of the Ed Sullivan theater. It’s interesting, the cut is nice, and it makes her look like a young adult (as opposed to an awkward teen).

completely agree! She’s so much prettier than she’s coming across in this tour. Her bangs alone. Just everything is a train wreck. I’d bet if she walked out in jean and white tank top with a ponytail she’d look better.

You took the words right out of my mouth. But I did imagine Katniss like Jen Lawrence. Peeta is supposed to be focusing on his ability to lift heavy things. He probably can’t even get his wee lil man arms around Jen Lawrence’s f***ing amazing body.

Most celebrities have gotten used to smiling naturally as they walk the red carpet, no matter how they’re feeling. The smile plus the dresses just adds up to a big pile of discomfort. Poor girl.

I’m pretty sure they are natural. They sag because they are larger than a B cup and are NATURAL. I know we are so used to seeing fake boobs stand up by themselves, but boobs have a natural sag to them. I don’t understand how all of you women on here scream about boobs sagging. Have you never seen larger natural boobs?

Thank you! I have natural f cups and I am about the same size as Jennifer and my boobs sag a little. I can’t go anywhere without some good support. One night I was at a club and all these people were screaming fake titties at me, until some random guy said, they look a little saggy, so I don’t think they’re fake. UGH.
I agree. It is terrible how the natural breast has been shamed in society, and the bolt-on look has become the norm. I don’t think it looks attractive at all. It reminds me of the “uncanny valley” of robotics and animation.
Agreed. The only thing that bothers me is that this is probably from one of the mall meet-and-greets, so it is a little much. If it were an evening event, and the dress were a gown, it would be stunning.
Im kinda just starting to think she doesnt know how to wear clothes. like she is just gettin gused to dresses and heels and nobody has taught her the hollywood standard of one leg forward, shoulders back, hips out. I dont think any of the clothes are that bad, just that she doesnt quite know how to work them.

The stylist (paid for by the studio) just picked some nice dresses without any thought to the person wearing them. Shame.
I like that she is willing to wear some intersting clothes. As a girl who has a similar sized rack though, the green one is making me feel reall uncomfortable. Young boobs are great, but when they get that size, there will be sagging.
The bangs though, I just can’t. They look so unkempt!
Also, her smiles seem so sad. I don’t see any joy in them 🙁
I’m thinking she has a very unfortunate cowlick in the front and doesn’t know how to control it/work with it. Getting rid of the bangs altogether would be a good start.
I don’t like that lowcut, especially with a short dress. Just looks like she’s trying too hard to be sexy and it looks awkward and forced. I think she looks nicest in the last dress (the black one with the long sleeves) at the end of the pics.
The green dress is a amazing and I actually love the second one too (the one you hated). The third one is fine.
Her hair is SO stunning though, but those bangs make me sad. She doesn’t need them!
She could use some tips about how to stand and pose. She looks gawky and awkward the way she is standing and being dressed in fancy clothes only accentuates that. She seems like she’s probably more comfortable in jeans and tshirts.

Loving the Prabal Gurung dress; she should have worn that all day. The green is a little too low-cut, IMHO. Thank God she didnt wear that in front of David Letterman. We all know good and well he would not have been able to contain himself. So, at least good part for the scheduling of the looks lol

I must be crazy because I love all three looks with the Prabal Gurung being the best. But she has the Worst posture.
I think her stylist dresses her too old. The looks would be better on a mature woman. Everything she has worn seems to heavily textured and dark. She is a beautiful young woman with a gorgeous figure but it is being mired down with boring, heavy, and ill-fitting clothing.
I think Jennifer looks great. The color is beautiful on her and it fits like a glove. Fantastic body that didn’t come from starvation.

She has the stiffest, most insincere-looking smile and her eyes do not connect with it. She’s an actress? Strange, because she does not appear to know how to inhabit space comfortably.
I think this is what a normal person looks like when placed on a red carpet. Of course, Jennifer is much prettier than average, but she hasn’t perfected the red carpet stance or facial expressions that, while ridiculous, have becoem the norm.
She has probably seen/read the scathing remarks about her smile, which is why she stopped smiling a few apperances ago, and is now doing so self-consciously.
She’s probabaly absolutely lovely in person. But I do think her stylist hates her, or is one of those weird fashion people who haven’t any clue how to accomadate the realities of the person they are dress within the context of the stylist’s “concept.” Like, the opposite of Cinna.
I agree – I think it’s a combo of the stylist making bad choices for her wardrobe, hair and makeup, and her not having the red carpet presence yet to pull it off anyway.
A lot of this same criticism was leveled at Rooney Mara during all her TGWTDT appearances, albeit a bit more viciously since people didn’t seem to find her as accessible as Jennifer.

Maybe I don’t look at as many racks as some of you, but I literally don’t see what you are talking about when you talk about JL’s “saggy” boobs in the green. Her boobs look fine, but I don’t like the cut or material of the dress. The dress looks cheap, and I don’t mean slutty (she’s too awkward for it to come off slutty).

Not the biggest Jennifer Lawrence fan, but she has a fantastic body…Unfortunately, I think she is already starting to lose weight. I’ve been reading the reviews for The Hunger Games and I keep noticing the weird comments about her body being sturdy, traces of baby fat, etc. and these were all from pretty legit critics…I think one was The Hollywood Reporter or Variety. A couple of bloggers have gone further with it, calling her big boned. Even Lainey went into a defense of her body and she looked like she had endurance. The problem is, in Hollywood, having traces of baby fat or looking like you have endurance isn’t great. Kathleen Turner kind of reminds me of the same body type, but there are not that many unless you are talking action.

Surely the PRs of the studio are reading the criticism that their main star is getting for her outfits. They need to fire her stylist STAT! This is getting ridiculous now.

In real life Jennifer has a beautiful, healthy body — and doesn’t need to lose a pound. However, I can see, in the context of The Hunger Games, why so many critics mentioned her weight. The character she plays is from a poverty-stricken area and is chronically underfed. So, for accuracy to the book and character, it might have been appropriate for her to lose some weight fpr the role.
At least her hair looks better… I think she looks like a 14 year old playing dress up. She needs to work on her posture and make up. She doesn’t have a very nice smile either. I think she would prefer not to.

I don’t buy CDAN at all. In fact, I think it is one of his friends who is more well written pretending to be RDJ. Reason is, CDAN is right sometimes (I think PR people occasionally plant items) but wrong 95% of the time. There has been several times where he has sworn that someone is pregnant, cheating, etc. and then the actress turns out to not be pregnant. I also think he crossest the line…The blind about Hayden Panneterrie being sexually abused by her father and being a hooker and all that shiit….Totally fake, sorry, and kind of fvcked up to write even if there was a hint of truth.

She reminds me of the female jock at school who looked like a fish out of water in a dress at the dances. Someone should tell her she shouldn’t stand with her legs so far apart in a dress, especially one with a short hem. The green dress shows way too much cleavage for a full figured girl like herself. There isn’t enough support and her boobs look lopsided and saggy. I can’t believe she wore it again to the fan signing event after the premiere. I think it was way too much cleavage on display. Her makeup and hair looked pretty, though. I think she looked uncomfortable at every premiere she has attended so far. Luckily for her, the promotion for this film is coming to an end soon. Then she can ditch the fancy dresses and heels for awhile and just be herself again.

All of the dresses were good in theory, but they’re all such an awkward length! At least the color choices are improved I guess, but they need to put her in longer dresses. I get that her stylist is trying to show off her gorgeous legs, but sacrificing the dresses for that is NOT working. She’s showing off enough with her bountiful cleavage anyway, so it’s time to put her in longer gowns.

I like the green dress, but not on her. I think it would look better on someone with a smaller chest, she is showing too much boobage. The keyhole dress is too teenage for a starlet. It would look okay for everyday with a cute pair of flats sandals though. The last dress is perfect for her. It adds just enough sophistication and shows off her curves without giving away too much. Classy!
I like both dresses more than the cleavage dress, which would be okay with a little more coverage. I’m just not a fan of overdoing the cleavage. You can still look hot on top without giving it away.
