Katherine Heigl stepped out in a gorgeous (by her standards) little white dress for a meeting yesterday in Los Angeles. While this outfit would probably not be notable on any number of other Hollywood actresses, I feel like we should applaud Katherine for making an effort to look stylish instead of falling back into her default fug mode both in candid shots and on the red carpet. This dress is really cute on her and flattering to the figure, right? Of course, that hair is still a total disaster (I think she should grow it out to shoulder length), but I’m just amazed that she didn’t screw up the dress with some fug booties. Because she loves her fug booties.
Maybe Katherine got a new stylist. She’s obviously been trying to work on her image lately, and looking good is one way to easily score some points. She’s still filming romcoms for now (her latest, The Wedding, is in post-production), but Katherine needs to watch it because she’s been stuck in some underperformers — One For the Money and New Year’s Eve — lately, and her days might be numbered. As shallow as it may seem, this dress is a good start to generating interest outside her ice-queen image.
Of course, Katherine went out to lunch with her mother after her meeting. Mom looks good too. They really seem inseperable, right? Maybe they’ll both end up signing on for Mother’s Day — which is looking to cast 11 more mother/daughter sets of actresses after signing on its first duo, Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri Martino. Or maybe not.

Her mother has younger sunglasses than she does. I find it so peculiar that they are always together and she doesn’t seem to have any friends. The dress is okay-but that hair and sunglasses just ruin the whole thing.
I swear to God, my mom used to have that same exact type of sunglasses that I used to play with back in the kindergarden…
She looks great here but let’s wait before we sign off on “improving her style”…we’ve had some false starts before.
ditto
even if i always has a trouble with her sunglasses but it’s yet better than usually
Cute, very cute
I am not a fan, but I am starting to like her. I think at heart she is a good person. It is great that she and her mother are tight, but she really needs friends her own age. It is not healthy for someone to count their mom as their only friend (I only ever see pictures with her and the mom, and the husband, Josh).
My mother is my best (although not only)friend however, I DO not have the same hairdo, sunglasses, etc as her. I want to be like my mother in her goodness and personality, but not her fashion sense 😉
Took the thoughts straight out of my head! Having the same hair cut/style and being constantly seen together isn’t doing you any favors in the “guess-her-age” department. But other than the occasional sweater, it might be best for KH to stop raiding her mom’s closet. This dress is first step!
Envious of their relationship, though. Love my mom, but we haven’t seen each other for years. *sigh* Maybe I have a phone call to make today.
Her mom is her manager, right? Has she ever thought about changing her management?
I think a lot of her ‘bitchy’ persona was just a woman expressing an opinion and we all know that just won’t do! 😛 I still say she stood up for her gay friend on Grey’s and for that she will always have my support. As for the jibes about the writing on Grey’s not being up to scratch for an Emmy – she was right! It’s shockingly bad at times – and I say that as someone who never misses it. (Private Practice though, I just can’t – painfully bad).
One thing Katiepoo – those sunglasses – no, just no. They make you look like a fly.
Pretty.
Mama Heigl looks cute
Until she dumps her mom’s hair stylist – no improvement. She looks like a prim little old lady.
She looks great! She also has a great, normal figure. Slim and in shape, but not crazy and skeletal. I aspire to have her figure, or Halle Berry’s (love Halle’s toned yet curvy look).
I like Heigl in spite of myself. While her personality sucks, I do think she’s great in romcoms. (It’s kind of the way I feel about J. Lo, too.) She’s magnetic onscreen. I’d rather see her than Kate Hudson!
She looks lovely but I fear it may be a one off lucky clothes purchase rather than a sudden change of taste!
That’s a cute dress for her, but something about the hair and sunglasses combo she has makes her look so much older.
I think she looks adorable here–the whole look works, from dress to shoes to hair to shades.
I think I like her hair.
I do, too Zelda! Not sure why this style is getting negative comments. It’s got a sexy retro vibe, and the color suits her.
Me too! It’s actually very similar to my cut/style and now I’m questioning it… *looks around nervously*
me too.
agree. Dress is cute too!
I liked her hair too! It’s curly and cute. Might benefit from being a darker blonde though?
The only time it looks old is in that last pic with her mom. Her mom ages her because you suddenly notice all the similarities in facial expressions, gestures etc.
Dress is adorable! i want it, except I’d look like death in it. 🙁
I don’t like the hair and sunglasses. It makes me think me of just another marilyn monroe wannabe.. or am I wrong? Anyway, dress is nice and I am curious to see her new little girl!
I don’t understand WHY she styles herself the way she does. She’s tall. She’s thin. A great foundation for being able to wear great clothes!
That is a cute dress. Her hair is fine.
I seriously don’t get the Heigl hate. She seems like a good person. No drugs, drunken rants, etc and so what if her style is outdated. At least she’s not flashing her vadge in every other photo-op.
She looks nice, cute dress.
I don’t understand the Hollywood types. You can get cuter stuff head to toe at Banana Republic right now. WTF??
Dress is nice, her hair still sucks.
I think she looks really good period, as in not good for her or good for her age or whatever, just good. Love the shoes with that dress.
Her mum needs to put on flats it’s like she’s struggling to walk in dem heels
she looks great! but time to lose the mother once in a while…
I think she looks great. I liked One for the Money…what can I say…I’m usually pretty loyal if I think most of your movies are ok.
Why does she have old lady helmet hair? I don’t get it.
Just goes to show if you are tall and beautiful you can still look fug
