Back in late February and early March, Lindsay Lohan began yet another “comeback tour” of the media. She did a big Today Show interview with Matt Lauer in which she famously claimed that she doesn’t even like to go out anymore because she’s such a “homebody”. She wandered around NYC, getting pap’d on a daily basis. She got in touch with her New York dealers. All of the “comeback” crap was Lindsay’s self-promotion for her appearance on Saturday Night Live. Once the show actually came on, her performance was critically and universally panned – it was like the writers barely knew what to do with her, and she was left out of several skits when she wasn’t crack-blinking her way through monotonously reading off the cue cards throughout every scene. So, what was wrong with Lindsay? Who says there was even something “wrong” with her? I assumed that this is how she always is – barely lucid, bad timing, looking awful. As I theorized at the time, I wondered if this wouldn’t be the beginning of some difficult “Was Lindsay Lohan ever ‘talented’ to begin with?” questions. Well, Lindsay’s cracked-out father (the crack-apple didn’t fall far from that crack-tree) has a theory!

Lindsay Lohan’s much maligned appearance on Saturday Night Live was due to her taking prescription pills her dad Michael Lohan is claiming.

The town crier of information that Lindsay, 25, never wants in the public domain told Celebrityviplounge.com: “I have to say this… on SNL, Lindsay was not using any illicit drugs or drinking, but is still on the prescription drugs that they gave her.”

He added: “And the meds that they give her are meds that they say she needs, but she doesn’t need them. But they kind of make her flat. She’s not acting at a full potential. It’s like the screen is down over her.”

Michael, who was hospitalized again recently due to ill health as Radaronline.com reported, said the thinks his daughter has changed her ways.

“And now when she did Glee I said, ‘Linds, get off the damn medication and let people see who you really are.’ And for a couple days before Glee, she went off this stuff. And there were tears in my eyes when I watched Glee. THAT was Lindsay. Yeah that was her acting. That is Lindsay Lohan at the Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and Mean Girls potential. That is what she was.”

Except that she was barely even on Glee, right? CB covered LL’s appearance on Glee, and from what I gathered, Lindsay was on screen for something like three minutes in total. And it seemed like her timing was still off, and she was still playing a crackie version of herself. So it’s not really “acting” is it?

As for the claim that LL’s real problem is prescription drugs rather than crack, coke, meth and whatever else LL can get her ragamuffin hands on, well… sure. Sure, I believe she’s still taking prescription drugs, many of which do her more harm than good. I also believe she’s pretty much snorting, smoking, mainlining, injecting, swallowing and licking anything she get her ragamuffin hands on. It’s not either/or with Lindsay. It’s “all of the above”.
