I can’t decide exactly how to feel about Peaches Geldof these days. Obviously, she loves being a new mummy, and the near universal hope is that her new responsibilities will lead her to settle down at least somewhat and stop being such a party girl. Of course, all of the cute baby photos in the world won’t stop the nagging feeling that Peaches is growing skinnier by the day and looked super thin a month after giving birth, which leads to suspicions that she could have fallen prey to some of her former demons such as another braindead juicing diet or even worse.
For the moment however, Peaches has convinced me that she’s got little Astala’s best interests at heart, but that’s only because she’s tweeted some cute photos of her loving up on her baby. These are actually cuter than the last batch, I think. Also, a few of these photos might indicate that Peaches has dyed her hair red, but it could just be one of those wacky Instagram filters at work.
One of the photos that Peaches posted features Astala with Peaches’ baby daddy, Thomas Cohen. He’s actually a pretty handsome guy in this photo (because the rampant skinniess isn’t showing through), but he still looks like a young Bob Geldof. I just can’t get over that undeniable fact.
More Peaches and Astala pics below! She does make a pretty cute mummy.

cute!
Super Cute!
Very cute.
Babies change some people. Makes them grow up and be better people.
They have a cute family.
Agreed. I was a hot mess until the day I found out I was pregnant. (surprise!) Best thing that could have happened to me. My daughter saved my life, and my relationship with my (now) husband.
He is a dream, so cute. And honestly, I think she looks healthy and happy. I hope she really is!
Too cute for words. Please, Peaches, stay clean and healthy for the little guy!
OMG! Cutie-pie baby! His knit pants are the cherry on top of the cuteness.
I hope she’s not reverting back to old habits. I swear it feels like we just saw her heroin-infused sexcapade pictures not too long ago and now we are here. I totally understand the uneasy feeling…
I don’t mean this to be callous but it will probably come off that way. Her mother had four baby girls and that didn’t chase away her drug addictions and demons. Drug addiction runs in families. And once you get looked on that bad stuff that is your #1 priority not your family. Peaches (and her family) face an uphill battle. I hope that she can keep it together.
I wouldn’t call it callous, you’re not wishing ill upon them and frankly, you’re not saying anything that everyone else isn’t thinking. I’d venture to guess that both she and her family have that apprehension in the background of their thoughts. How many people recoil at the thought of turning into their mothers without that kind of history?
Sometimes facts are harsh. Addiction is not something a person is ever cured of. From what I have seen up close and personal is that sobriety is a period of being clean with occasional relapses. How long the relapses last depends on how long the person has practiced sobriety and how big of a supportive network they have.
Adorable pics! He looks a bit uncomfortable holding the baby and I don’t much care for how that baby’s head is tilted back in the second pic. so let’s hope they have a nanny or someone who can instruct them on Baby 101.
Why is this girl a ‘thing’? I am so bored of having to read about the offspring of famous people who do nothing to deserve the press interest they get.
+1 She was given a tv show here in the UK – I can only fathom because she had the benefit of famous parents rather than any identifiable talent. It was panned and painful to watch. Thankfully it was quickly cancelled.
She’s also a “journalist” (haha). She wrote articles for The Guardian and Telegraph and Elle UK. Nothing serious, just showbiz stuff.
the cynic in me thinks Peaches photographed that eaten pizza on purpose in response to the criticism of her weight
the lover of all things cute in me thinks AWWWW a cute little babyyyyy!!!
Ditto!
She seems sincere and fully fulfilled by being a mother it’s impressive how the expression of her face is drastically different!
I think that she is and she will be a good mom.
She had a hard life as a child living an awful situationwith her mom escaping with another man before committing suicide, so she knows first hand how important it is for a kid to be cherished by his mom and she is totally willing to shower him with absolute love!
I find these pics realy really cute and quite moving since we can totally see that the little boy is her top priority!
ALIEN HEAD BABY in the last pic. For real.
In this pic he actually looks like Hilary Duff’s baby boy 🙂
In that last picture he looks like Roger from American Dad.
Crack baby. JK
The reflection in that baby’s left eye is very concerning. They need to get him checked for retinoblastoma. I hope someone on her Twitter feed mentioned that.
Totally cosign, how do we get word to this woman? I am really worried!
She can afford a better baby carrier than the bjorn. A Moby is a better choice when they are that teeny & an ergo or a mei tei when they are bigger. Bjons cause stress on the baby’s little, still developing hips
@ J O’C: Shoot, you’re right. I was just doing something at work on this; the photographs are so characteristic. Two photos is a real small sample set though.
I just signed up for twitter, which I hate, to see if I could get the word out and warn her about possible retinoblastoma. However I am NOT a techie and I don’t know if it worked. If anyone else can get their attention, please try. Hopefully it will be nothing, but retinoblastoma is a very aggressive tumor.
That baby is ADORABLE!!!
I agree that Baby Daddy looks a lot like Geldof, but Bob was never quite that handsome.
Also, having a baby changes people. I think Peaches has a decent chance of recovering from her past drug and eating issues. There are a lot of people who party in their 20’s, drink, do drugs and don’t take care of their bodies. A lot of those same people end up leading very normal, settled, clean and healthy lives without “struggling with their addictions.” I think there is a big difference between your Amy Winehouses and your Nicole Ritchies. I can picture the Peaches show turning out pretty much like Nicole Ritchie.
