I’ll be perfectly honest here and admit that I only really wanted to write about these new Katy Perry photos (part of her new advertising campaign for the hair brand ghd) because of a certain other set of NSFW photos of Katy at a waterpark and losing her bikini down a water slide. Essentially, her booty was exposed for all of the gathered spectators as well as the paps, and eventually, us as well. Here’s my question — it is now confirmed that Katy has a very lovely figure, right? I know that I hate on her quite a bit, but one can’t deny the power of that (marvelously white) booty.
Now onto the actual subject of this post: Katy’s latest advert campaign, which was shot by the legendary Ellen von Unwerth for hair brand ghd. The shoot itself is rather glamorous and unlike the candy-cane confections that we’ve come to expect from anything associated with Katy. However, I find it quite odd that People has declared Katy to be “naturally gorgeous“ in this shoot (which promises a “a good hair day with katy“) for ghd’s brand, which primarily pertains to hair-straightening devices. This is all well and good except that Katy’s actual hair looks like this right now. Even if one takes into account that this shoot may have taken place a few months ago, Katy’s hair has never really looked like this … except when she wears a wig. So this would obviously be a very clear-cut case of false advertisement, right?
Combine a world famous fashion photographer with a genius hair stylist, add international singing star and ghd brand ambassador Katy Perry and leave in an LA studio for two days. Introducing the new ghd 2012 campaign.
When life’s a show and you’ve got one of the starring roles, being caught off guard isn’t usually an option, which is why our new 2012 campaign with Katy Perry is something quite special.
Captured in a series of candid black and white shots displaying a natural confidence, it’s a side of Katy Perry we don’t often get to see. The images were shot in LA at the end of Katy’s world tour by world-renowned fashion photographer Ellen Von Unwerth — famous for her sensual and feminine images of some of the world’s most beautiful women.
The campaign is all about showing the confidence that a good hair day can bring, and thanks to superstar session stylist Danilo there was a whole lot of good hair — Katy’s shown with a different style in each of the shots. All the hair looks are effortlessly beautiful and were styled with the range of ghd stylers, ghd brushes and ghd style products.
“It’s a pleasure working with Katy,” said Danilo. ‘She’s a young, vibrant artist who is really OK about being confident and seeing herself in different ways — extreme, vulnerable, kooky, sexy, expensive looking but playful. She’s a beautiful woman so it’s inspirational.”

Maybe we’re supposed to be okay with the declaration that this shoot required a “genius hair stylist” who was actually a “wig stylist.” Or maybe it just doesn’t matter that Katy is being just as fake as she always is while selling hair products. Does it really even matter? I’m not currently in the market for a hair-straightening iron, but if I was, ghd wouldn’t even be on my radar thanks to this campaign.

It’s a little bit funny to me that bald celebs who are wearing wigs and extensions 24/7 are “faces” (heads?) of hair products.
+++++++this++++++++++
she does have a nice body, I’ll give her that BUT (you knew it was coming) she is fake as f-ck..don’t try to sell me hair care products while wearing a wig, and shame on you for thinking I’m dumb enough to fall for it..
That last picture is photoshopped to the point of oblivion. She’s a cute girl with a killer body, but I can’t believe that’s been enough to keep her relevant for years now.
That’s exactly what I tried to say on the dailymail article but my comment never got published. Her neck in the last photo is hilarious. Who has neck shadow like that?
There is nothing natural about these photos…
Nothing natural about her, either. She should be working for MAC and the Dolly Parton Wig Emporium.
Maybe the company wants their audience to assume that their products can be used on wigs and hair extensions.
Not only is she wearing wigs in those photos, but they are really cheap-looking. Couldn’t they at least get wigs that look somewhat like real hair? The only time she looks like she has a nice shape is when she’s all covered up and everything is squeezed in and pushed up. When she’s in swimsuits and half naked, she looks sort of pudgy and saggy. She’s like Kim K. in that way. They must wear multiple layers of spanx.
The photo of her playing chess just reminds me of the ‘I have no idea what I’m doing’ dog meme.
None of these hair ads use natural hair it’s always extensions or wigs. Hello Beyonce! You KNOW that girl doesn’t use Loreal and IF she actually did its only on her wigs. At least we know Katy’s real hair doesn’t look like that. There people who still believe Beyonce’s hair is real :dead:

Is ghd a product line for wigs?
Like she couldn’t have pulled up her swim suit bottoms?Thats so obvious.Goodness girl, pull them up before you either stand up,or turn your ass to the crowd!Iv lost my bottoms lots of times on water slides and never once took my sweet ass time pulling them up.
Do you want to keep all of your ridiculous bubblegum wigs looking pancake flat? Buy GHDs, look like a pathetic teenage wannabe forever!
Pretty, glossy photos make me happy. These are pretty, glossy photos. I don’t care about the product.
GHD does make good products though.
She is such a clueless talentless moron and a complete greedy sell out; if this were berkely in the 60s her cds would be burned for epitomizing corporate shilling; but alas, selling out is so common no one bats an eye; and please an “artist” has that danilo been sniffing too many hair products; she’s an artist as much as running a movie projector is to be an actual director.
And the photoshop is over the top; check out her candids on some of the recent John Mayer posts and compare – two different females.
She looks like Maleficent in the second picture.
She might have a ‘nice looking’ bottom but her legs are awful, she has cankles for days. So personally I don’t think her body is all that. JMO.
And yeah, these photos look like ads for wigs!
Umm. I thought her boobies were store bought?? Her bum has a nice shape, but the rest of her is kind of meh. And she is not remotely attractive without a pound of makeup on. Natural Beaty she is not.
Her boobs are real. They look real too. They’re pretty magnificent.
I love her rack. But her legs and her butt leave much to be desired IMO. Her legs are tree trunkish.
Katy Perry is a total hypocrite. She and her supporters love to use buzzwords like natural, authentic, real, etc. to describe her, but it’s all meaningless, because everything about her is synthetic. How is wearing a wig, false eyelashes, and 10 lbs of makeup “natural”?
I also want to throw up when I see her talking as if she’s an “artist” — real artists don’t base half their career around endorsing dozens of products. Let’s see, how many things is she pushing now? ProActiv, GHD, her false eyelashes, Adidas, 2 perfumes, the Sims, and I also saw something about her being chosen as the new spokesperson for Pop Chips. Not to mention that her “documentary” (to use the term loosely) was a tie-in with Pepsi.
If she wants to take advantage of her fame by making obscene amounts of money via these product deals, that’s her prerogative. But to couch it in rhetoric about “art” and “individuality” is disingenuous, to say the least.
Oh, she’s completely insufferable. I was so upset that Russel Brand married her, he’s brilliant [when he’s being serious] and she is such a trite piece of fluff. If she was ever anything more than an airheaded pop star she traded that in for a wider, idiotic audience.
I feel the same way about Russell. I know his taste in women has never been too sophisticated, so in that sense it doesn’t surprise me that he went for Katy (looks-wise), but I was so disappointed in him when he married her. He has talked (convincingly, in my opinion) over the years about the emptiness of mass consumerism and the need for a shift in consciousness, so that we value things that matter and not just glittery nonsense. So I could never reconcile how he could be married to Katy Perry with those beliefs. He admittedly is part of that world himself by being an entertainer, but at least he has an awareness and intelligence about it and isn’t anywhere near the level of famewhore/productwhore that Katy is. Oh well, at least they’re divorced now!
I think Russell is generally well-intentioned but he’s a big phoney and married Katy because their agents told them it would be a good idea. He probably half believes in all his talk for his own self-preservation, but when he married Katy, that said it all to me. He’s apparently ready to settle down with a new GF who is nothing like Katy and she seems really low maintenance and he appears happy. So I guess he got what he wanted in the end. Katy seems like a nasty person and I don’t really consider her as selling out since she was never really ever credible to begin with. I tend to hate on the dumb little children that hand over their parents money before Katy. I mean, girl has to pay her rent right?
