There were lots of hot guys at last night’s ALMA Awards. Some of them aren’t really my type (Diego Boneta), but there were several dudes that made me sit up and say “HOLA!” In case you want to know what went down during the show, E! News has a good summary here. The ALMAs don’t air on TV until Friday night on NBC, so it’s not like we missed anything! (I felt bad because I thought I missed it.) Anyway, the header is the boy you know and love (to hate), Ryan Lochte. He is half-Cuban, on his mother’s side.

I’ve always found Phelps hotter than Lochte. Both in looks and personality.
I thought Lochte was cute at one point. Then I saw the grill and considered him as a shame f***. Then I heard/read his interviews and was promptly cured of my crush. People remember, stupidity is not attractive.

Ryan is one of those guys that is better seen and not heard. Seth MacFarland did a pretty good impression of him on SNL. Pretty funny because it’s kind of true.

Meh. The only one I find unbelievably sexy and attractive is Andy Garcia. All the others are average Joe-Blow looking…messy, which I am not a fan of. Andy is always clean cut and…just perfect (sigh).

Lochte would still be attractive if I’d never heard/read one of his interviews. And he’s rather arrogant these days. Declaring this weekend that he’s going to become a competitive sprinter for 2016. At 32. So he doesn’t get bored and just quit swimming.
He still seems to be chasing/competing with Phelps. Or maybe he wants to be the new Phelps in Rio. But Phelps was 27 for his last Olympics and always trained/swam sprinting events. He was also a once in a lifetime athlete. Ryan’s amazing in his own right but he’s not Phelps. He’ll never be Phelps. He’d do well to accept that and try and carve out his own legacy by killing 2-3 events at 32 years old. Rather that than trying to be the new Phelps and chase/tie Phelps’ 6-8 events and play catch up with sprinter specialists who’ve got years and years of competition and training on him. Ryan may just screw himself with this kinda crap.
Sprinting is a young man’s game. Lezak was an exception not the rule. Sprinting specialist Nathan Adrian is even gonna have an uphill battle to stay competitive for 2016. And he’ll be 27 then. For the 100 freestyle, Ryan’s also never gone under 48 flat/off the blocks. The medalists in London all went in the mid-47 range. Sprinting events are decided by hundreths of a second. By 2016 competitive times will probably all be down around 47.00 or high 46. Ryan’s gonna shave a second off his personal best as he fights his age and training for entirely new events?
He has the worst people ever managing him right now and telling him what’s realistically do-able. Where’s Coach Troy or even Ryan’s shady Dad knocking some reality into this guy as to what is a reasonable and realistic future in competitive swimming?
