Cobalt & Co.

Color-that’s-making-waves alert! Cobalt blue isn’t everywhere yet, but come spring, it’s going to be all over the place.

It’s fascinating when a certain color really catches on – because really, it’s such a bizarre phenomenon. I think we all remember the scene from The Devil Wears Prada, when Meryl Streep coldly enlightens Anne Hathaway on the fashion history behind “cerulean blue”.

What makes a certain shade of blue “all the rage”? The answer probably has something to do with the color being a reaction to certain world events, trends, and feelings, but we’re not going to try to dissect those here. The point is that cobalt is a fun, strong hue to wear (better than wishy-washy neutrals any day). If you’re a fan, we’ve found some great pieces for you to snap up.

Hayden Harnett Mercer Clutch – $229.60 at Blondette

Anybody remember aqua being big in the 80’s?! 🙂

  2. Jenna says:

Oh lord yes *cringes*…..it was so popular it tricked down the elementary school set (showing my age here). The 80’s was definately not the high point of fashion for this country.

I love that blue purse though 🙂

Oooh, I want the boots. The problem with trends is that the items are sometimes not wearable for years afterwards.

I love that blue tunic. Everything else is a bit too trendy for me to pull off.

Oops, I wrote that above comment, but my husband was still signed in on the main computer. You can be assured it’s from me.
