If you look at the last picture (before she was pregnant) it looks much better. Pregnant women can’t get hair dye or bleach on their skin, so she hasn’t had her roots done for months. That’s the problem.

When will people/sites stop perpetuating this myth about the German Christmas pickle?
Wherever it originated, it is not a German tradition, and believe me, I’ve been asking around for years and years in different areas of Germany.
Nanea, I’ll ask my Dad from whence it originated (he’s got Scottish and German blood), as it’s something we’ve done as children, and has now been passed on to our children.
They even got us each a pickle ornament for our trees at home! 😀
My Mutti is German, I was born & raised mostly there. Pickle is not a German tradition. German tradition we open our gifts Christmas eve. The pickle is an American tradition that gets labeled as a “German tradition”. My older half sister (still lives in Germany & never learned English or american ways) laughed when I brought this up. 🙂
