My first thought was – hey, didn’t Miranda and Orlando Bloom get married in 2010? And she’s just getting around to selling her “bachelorette pad” now? But the explanation given – which I maybe believe – is that the high-end real estate market wasn’t that great at the time, and she only sold the apartment after she slashed the price. But as I kept on reading… I kept throwing more and more side-eyes. Just wait…
Supermodel Miranda Kerr has sold her Manhattan bachelorette pad after telling friends she wants more room for her family, MailOnline can reveal. The 29-year-old Aussie brunette has moved out of the stunning Sex and the City-style apartment in the hip New York building that was designed by, and named after, Jade Jagger, after putting it on the market for $1.345 million.
The willowy model has shrugged off all rumours about her marriage to actor Orlando Bloom, and has revealed she wants more space for their two-year-old son Flynn and their family. Miranda first put the apartment on the market in November 2010 for $1.395 million and then reduced the price by 16 per cent to $1.175 million in February 2011. However, it is currently listed as being ‘in contract’ after being put on the market again for $1.345 million.
The Victoria’s Secret beauty originally bought the property for $1,084,436 in 2006 and also purchased a smaller apartment on the same floor, which is currently being rented – and had been used for Flynn’s nanny, according to friends.
One source said: ‘Miranda said she was moving out and she wants more space for her family.’
The sale dashes speculation of a marriage split – stirred after Miranda appeared without her wedding ring and appeared flirty with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Amid the swirling rumours, the model told People they were concentrating on their young son as they were often separated by work.
Speaking earlier this month, she said: ‘We are really enjoying our time with Flynn at the moment. He’s such a ball of love and he’s so wonderful. And we are both so busy that I think it’s nice to have that time together and not rush any other babies for now.’
The couple have been married since 2010, and Miranda admitted although she was often kept apart from the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 36, they keep in touch.
Citing ‘communication and honesty’ as key components to a successful marriage, she said: ‘Lots of Skype. Especially now that we have our son,’ adding that Flynn is a fan of the video calling. ‘I’m not much of a talking on the phone person. I prefer to text. It’s always very hard to get me on the phone.’
The couple and their son were seen soaking up the sun in Cancun, Mexico, last week as Miranda opened the resort’s new Louis Vuitton boutique – and showed off her perfect beach body in the process.
So, there’s the touch-and-go listing of her bachelorette flat. Side-eye. Then there’s the renewed speculation about “moving out” – which could be about needing more space, or it could be about something else entirely. Side-eye. Then she’s coming right out and saying (in so many words) that she’s not interested in having any more babies right now. Side-eye. Then there’s the fact that Miranda is building in a defense for why Orlando can’t get her on the phone, because she’s a “texter”. Side-eye.
I’ve really got to ask – do you think Miranda and Orlando are going to make it to the end of the year? I had theorized that they would announce a split sometime soon, but maybe not. Maybe she’s trying to make it work. Or maybe she’s just waiting until she lines up an A-list jumpoff?

I don´t know. I thought he would be the one walking away by now. If my wife did this to me, and I have no doubt MK did, then I would kick her to the curb immediately.
The fact that he didn´t, but is trying to do akward photo ops in order to save both of their faces and keep up their happily married image, leads me to the conclusion that he just doesn´t give a fuck and she will prob be the one walking away once she lined up someone better, so I think they might be around for a while.
On a side note what is Scheissekopf, I am German.
Oh I don’t doubt for second that she’ll be doing the dumping, she’s just biding her time. I predict it’ll be the usual irreconcilable differences malarky, then cue pap shots of her and Flynn. Hence why she’ll be everywhere when it finally happens. I think she’s an up-tradey kind of girl, she snagged Orlando when he was still flavour of the month, his star has been fading for a while now so I think she’s on the hunt for someone bigger and brighter, if Leo had wanted to keep her as a full time piece I think she would have been all over it.

Me neither, but then I really dislike the brand or what it has turned into and esp their marketing strategy, so any model doing VS is just eugh, except for Doutzen Kroes, I love her.
Her magazine cover reminds me of A Clockwork Orange where M. McDowell had his eyelids pinned up. All her features are crammed together in the middle of her face, if that makes any sense. Her features are odd. I would like to have her legs though.

I think she got with him in the first place because of his fame, it helped her being distinguish from all the other VS models and to build her own career and brand enormously.
He still has a lot name recognition and is still very handsome, but his career is non-existent and he doesn´t make an effort to change that, neither does he seem to give a shit in general, unless she has some really good dirt on him, I have no clue why didn´t he just walk, he would have the public on his side, prob getting at least joint custody for Flynn, instead he does this akward damage controll photo ops and looks like the biggest wuss.
I think she could be the one walking away, when she got someone better lined up, someone with a similar aw shucks image like she does but a lot better career, maybe Ryan Gosling, or someone like CHemboy and then prob discredits Orlando by naming/making rumours up about his partying and cheating as the reason for the split. That would be the only way she is able to keep up her image when a divorce is about to happen.
I think her image got kind of damaged by this, people start seeing trough her bullshit.
Speculating about someone’s marriage is like trying hard to think of the winning lottery numbers. Waste of time.

I got more side-eye for you Kaiser. Miranda said in that infamous NYMag profile, a year and a half ago, that the apartment was too small, so it was easier to just stay in hotels. I didn’t know that the nanny had an apartment in that building. So now I see that all those times that the DM’s written daily articles or her when she’s papped going in and out, or walking around that building she’s probably just visiting the nanny. And why buy another apartment in the same building for the nanny, when yours has been “up for sale” for two years, you’re having trouble getting rid of it and you must already be living somewhere else?
I agree…I didn’t think it was sketchy at all. It’s a hard market to sell in these days. Especially in the $1m+ range. My boss has been putting her house on the market on and off for the last 4 years and just finally sold it.

What’s wrong with her not wanting another baby right now? Or ever? Why on earth does that deserve a side-eye? Are women supposed to just keep popping out babies once they start now?
This woman will try to milk this marriage for at least another 6 months before it gets old. She already did the “walking around without wedding ring to create break-up rumors” twice, having her twitter account “hacked”, this “hacker” then told the world she was pregnant again which she denied within a day, sitting on Leo’s lap (among other things) when her husband was on the other side of the world (these cheating rumors where never denied), claiming to be private while talking about her family in every interview, posing with her child on the cover of a magazine etc etc. Her entire image and career is based on this marriage and she won’t let go until she gets something better (aka someone who will help her get even more famous). I’m ready for this woman to disappear forever.
Isn’t she just a VS swimsuit model. People seem to be fellating her like she’s the second coming of the Christ in female form. For such a pretty woman she doesn’t do high fashion very well. Her features aren’t that striking. She’s “exotic” enough to prettier than average but not oddly striking featured enough to do Haute.
