Back in December, Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman announced they were expecting their second child together. They were already parents to India Pearl, and Harvey already has three more daughters from previous marriages. And now he finally has a son! A week ago, Page Six reported that Harvey and Georgina had welcomed their first (and only, at this point) son on Thursday, April 11th. Shortly after Georgina gave birth, Page Six said: “Georgina and son are doing extremely well.” To Harvey’s credit, it didn’t seem like a Ben Affleck-type situation where Harvey was all about “getting the son”. Harvey said months ago that whatever happened, happened and if he ended up with five daughters overall, that would be fine with him. Once his son arrived, a source said: “This is a big moment for the family. Although Harvey will always be outranked by women, at least he now has an ally.” Harvey is 61 years old. Georgina is 37.
Well, I was waiting to talk about this until we found out the name, just because I really was interested in what kind of name Harvey would give his son. As it turns out, he just copied Cate Blanchett!
Harvey Weinstein and his Marchesa fashion-designer wife, Georgina Chapman, have settled on a name for their newborn son — Dashiell Max Robert. A source tells Page Six the baby’s first name was inspired by “The Thin Man” novelist Dashiell Hammett, because “when Harvey first met Georgina, he said she reminded him of [the ‘Thin Man’ character] Nora Charles . . . She was so beautiful, and so clumsy.”
Max, meanwhile, was the name of Weinstein’s father, after whom the last half of his and brother Bob’s famous former company, Miramax, was named. Dashiell was born last week and is the couple’s first son. Weinstein has four daughters — India Pearl with Chapman, and Emma, Lily and Ruth from a previous marriage.
Cate Blanchett’s oldest son is named Dashiell John Upton. Her younger sons are named Roman and Ignatius. I always remember the oldest boy’s name because I thought it was a great name at the time, and Cate was the first celebrity mom (that I’ve heard of) to use Dashiell as a first name. Harvey and Cate have worked together several times before, and I know he’s a fan. Do you think he consciously copied her, or are Harvey and Georgina really trying to play this like they just thought of the name all on their own?

Georgina is quite literary based on the name of the Label’s inspiration and being upper middle class English, they tend to give old school names that were probably quite common back in the day.
of course, as Kaiser says, they could just be copying Cate, so there is that option too.

It’s all about the money and power. Harvey also knows this and realizes that he can get hundreds of pretty young women under the age of 40 to have his children, but the dude needs to get in shape. I guess he doesn’t care about what people say behind his back, but the age difference wouldn’t be so obvious if he hit the gym and looked a bit nicer. It would make him feel healthier and it would help his wife not feel so icky when she needs to have sex with him. It’s a win-win.

Despite his financials, he has consolidated a really huge amount of power and access in Hollywood. That is more important than having tonnes of money after a certain point in terms of favours that can be called in.

A bit of silly article, the can name their son whatever they want. I didn’t realise just because cate named her son dashiell they couldn’t. Cate doesn’t have a monopoly on that name and their is nothing wrong with them naming him because they liked cate naming her son that as well. It’s not copying. My cousin named her little boy Dashiell and she says there’s another one in his little Mommy and Me class. I think it’s one of those old fashioned names that’s making a comeback.
Jason Connery, Sean’s only son, beat everybody to the name Dashiell, which is the name of his son with Mia Sara. Touche!
C. Thomas Howell named his son Dashiell before Jason Connery did! They were both born the same year, but Dashiell Howell was born 6 months earlier. 🙂
If you are 61 years old and already had more than 3 children, then why on earth are you having a child.
The child will be 10 years old when he reaches 71.
Come on. I would not have said anything if we were talking about a person who never fathered a child, or had only one or even 2 children, but the guy had several kids, it’s doubtful he would be able to run in the park with him even when the child turns 2-3 years of age.

I’ve become so fascinated with these two today after reading this post lol. I decided to research them…well more her because I know quite about harvey already.
So I found out she was already loaded before she met harvey but didnt technically live off her parents money, she went to well respected colleges and universities where she actually studied art and costume design. She is very cultured as she spent her summers in a small village in Italy. She spent a full two years travelling abroad and she went to places as Peru, Vietnam, india and many more and she says she loved it and she actually lived in those rural lifestyles instead of touristy rich people hotels.
This is all from interviews I read and in her interviews she is constantly described as warm, humble, self effacing, self deprecating, unassuming, polite and funny and her interviews make me really like her and think she’s great (shocking I know).
She set up her own home, didnt give money to an already existing i must say but created her own from ground up in new dehli for orphan girls and she pays for their expenses and is their legal guardian, gets sent their grades and everything, she supports many many charities actively.
Very down to earth and always downplays the so called grandness of her life. I have never actually seen her be a paparazzi magnet or chase publicity. She treats her employees as family and knows them all by name and is part of their lives, very easy to work for all have said.
and make no mistake she is smart, emotionally and otherwise! Her interests from books, movies to arts say that.
That’s why the harvey thing does not make sense to me. From how she comes across and is seen, does not add upto a immoral gold digger, unless like it was said before move over meryl she is the greatest actress. I wonder she could be all those good things and still be the other because I think her and harvey were a deal from the beginning, a sort of be with me and watch what I do for you company and she was like obviously yes! Not many people would pass up on that opportunity and I wonder if she said no he would have gone out of his way to make sure she went nowhere so to speak.
I think she’s paying for it because she looks dead behind the eyes, and oppressed compared to before. Maybe the guilt of selling her soul is taking its toll. Harvey is probably abusive to her, she knows he’s always unfaithful. Superficially she’s got everything but that’s about it. Like someone said before she will never be able to get out even if she wants to because he would ruin her, and dare I say even take her kids. And on the other she still has to work to keep him to keep everything else she has because if he gets tired of her, she will have nothing. I wonder if she has affairs on the side but I bet it’s one of those situations where he can have as many liaisons as he wants but god forbid she looks elsewhere, even though they hardly have a actual relationship.
In a way it’s a sad situation because if she tried she could’ve made it on her own and actually be in a real relationship. But the money status and popularity won out.
Also I must keep saying is beyond beautiful, spectacularly gorgeous for me just argh! I would easily turn for her in a heartbeat, I’ve seen a lot of her pics today and videos and wow just wow!
