Here are some shots from Rihanna’s February/March issue of Complex Mag. I don’t think I ever saw these when they were new – they’re nice. They look like Terry Richardson (or “School of Terry Richardson”) – too-bright lighting and everything seems kind of p0rny. But Rihanna looks good in them. Well, it seems Complex thought she looked good too, because Rihanna just topped their “100 Hottest Women Right Now” list. I am enjoying the “right now” caveat. It feels like Complex is admitting that the overwhelming majority of the women who made the list do not have “timeless hotness,” they are just the hot girls of the moment and three months from now you won’t remember their names.
Yeah… I just skimmed the slideshow (which you can see here) – I don’t recognize half the names. But I will say this – Complex really made an effort to objectify women of color as well as the standard ladies who always make these lists (blonde white women) – this is a super-diverse list! Let’s so who else made it… Ashley Greene (#97), Lena Dunham (#89 – I love that she outranked Ashley Greene!), Carey Mulligan (#75), Zoe Kravitz (#49), Angelina Jolie (#39), Eva Mendes (#30), Solange (#20!!), Kim Kardashian (#10), Nicki Minaj (#7), Kerry Washington (#5), Beyonce (#4), Jennifer Lawrence (#3), and Alison Brie (#2). I agree with the inclusion of most of these women, but the rankings are totally weird.
As for Rihanna’s triumph… sure. These lists are so meaningless, but I don’t have strong feelings about Rihanna being designated “the hottest woman right now”. I’m just glad it’s not Mila Kunis, because that would just inflate Ashton Kutcher’s ego too much.
Rihanna was also Instagram-ing photos in Barcelona yesterday – she’s back to blonde now!

As for the photos above. Terrible photo shop job, and I speak as a Photoshop user. Rihanna has large and muscular thighs. Those thigh shots are telling.

Agreed. There is nothing I like about Riri, yet she is undeniably a beautiful, stunning woman. She did not need a nose job, and I’m not down with the trend of thinning out a perfectly lovely natural nose.

I find Miley very pretty too. Not stunning but definitely captivating. Her body is insane too. Those legs! It’s just…the girl doesn’t have a posture and her neck is basically as good as non-existent.
Disagree with the notion that she needs to go away for a while. She’s very popular and makes hit after hit. Lady Gaga has been absent for months now and everybody loved to hate her but now, they don’t miss her. The same can happen to Rihanna although she does bring Drama more than Gaga. Gaga creates drama, Rihanna IS drama. As annoying as she can be, Rihanna brings the gossip with her self-centered party bitch behaviour.

I think Riri is a good choice. She really is quite beautiful to me. Some of the others on the list made me shake my head.. but to each his own.
The list itself is crazy! Holy krap, Kim KrapTrashian at number 10? Please that makes this list stupid and useless. Yes let’s have all the little girls out there emulating people like the KrapTrashians and cra-cra Rhi-Rhi. Let’s make them think that being a-moral or letting your crazy azz boyfriend beat the shit out of you is a good thing. This list is unbelievably sad and tragic. Whatever happened to celebrating people who do the right thing like get an education or have a hard work ethic or give to charity? When did those traits become so passé?

Rihanna is objectively pretty gorgeous. Also willfully self-destructive, but I’m sure that wasn’t one of the criteria under consideration.
They are not celebrating people for being moral and studious and whatnot. They are grading them according to their hotness. This isn’t Ms. Magazine, what did you expect?
As for doing the right thing: isn’t getting an education mainly to get a good job? Rihanna is a performer, not a good one but that’s beside the point. She makes loads of money while others toil away doing ‘the right thing’ (like me) and still end up jobless (like me). Sure, you’ll have loads of knowledge and passion for what you believe in, but nobody is giving you a chance to make money with it. Today, doing the right things isn’t guaranteed to bring you success or even hapiness in the long run when you can’t provide for yourself despite all the education and moral values. Sometimes you got to do your thing, the chances are the same as doing the right thing anyway. You might win or you might lose.

Your post is confusing me. Are you saying being a good person = is not rewarding, you will be unsuccessful and broke and that “doing your thing” = being self absorbed, trashy and debasing yourself to make money?
That’s your interpretation. Doing your own thing isn’t limited to what Rihanna does and how she behaves. There are plenty of people who didn’t follow the conventional path or didn’t have the means to have a conventional good life and they made it regardless.
In the past, people didn’t need an education. They just got jobs and learnt by trial and error. They were fine. Now, you can have 2 degrees, be a terrific person all around and work your ass off…and still end up in some bar serving food.
My friend is an artist, no education (not even highschool). She still got jobs but got bored and gave up. She started creating art and now she is selling it. And she’s happier than before. That’s HER thing and for some that might not be right because her lifestyle doesn’t promote the ‘right thing’ and she might not make it in life. So what? Life is too unpredicatable and too short to calculate it by conventional actions.
Doing the right things *should* bring you success but people with life experience know that it’s not a guarantee. It just stops you from doing things that might seem irrational and dreamy all because you think there is some logical order for who deserves success. Wake up, there isn’t any. They are so many losers who defy this notion (hello reality tv stars who get paid millions!?) and so many winners too who might not deserve it (hardworking lawyers who defend murderers and rapists). Like I said: unpredictable.
If you want to categorise finding yourself by doing what you want to do not what others tell you (take the safe route in life!), as trash etc then fine. It’s your life and your choice but also your opinion and your experience thus only concerning YOU and not others. You will not be more or less successful by it.

Nothing to say about Riri, but I’m curious – am I the only one who thinks that Solange is the more beautiful Knowles sister? And I’m including their comparative personalities/attitudes as well as their looks. She is so free-spirited and I love her for it.
No you’re not the only one. I really like Solange’s current look plus her voice is pretty good, she’s not shouting at me kind of music lol. She tried to look like the typical pop cum r n b star in her early days but has since evolved to have her own beautiful style. I love the way she wears colours especially.
