More like, when you break the written dresscode, and have half of your chest hanging out, you can be told to put on a shawl, and then allowed entry.
She’s a dramatic 17 year old. Of course it sounds like the best night of her life was ruined. She’s going to eventually look back on this and think “I guess it wasn’t such a big deal”.
I looked at the photo of the dress, and I’d have been uncomfortable leaving the house in it, and my bust is a good deal smaller, though still definitely not small. A strapless dress, with a v-cut in the front is not going to keep you supported or covered as a large chested gal. My parents would not have let me out of the house at 17 looking like that.
I agree completely. That dress is totally inappropriate and the dress code clearly stated the chest had to be covered. I would never wear anything that left that much of my chest exposed either, she doesn’t seem to have any sense.

Yep…if she’s so “humiliated”, WHY is she broadcasting it all over the world?! I’ve had gigantic boobs since 5th grade, and by prom, I looked like I was trying to smuggle 2 small children in under my shirt. Amazingly, I found a beautiful dress w/a sweetheart neckline that completely covered my chest (so I could wear a supportive bra & actually be able to dance!) I’m guessing the reason this girl felt so uncomfortable & had to leave after an hour is that she realized that if she tried to dance, or even move too much, she was going to end up looking like the cover of “Girls Gone Wild-Prom Edition!”
I agree. Based on the headline I had sympathy…until I saw what she wore. The dress code clearly stated that cleavage was a no-no. It wasn’t even that the dress was strapless, but the extra sweetheart v-dip in the center was too much. She was showing like 4 or 5 inches of cleavage!

Choose something appropriate, and there’s no problem.
At first, I thought the header photo was what she wore, but no, she just likes showing cleavage. She should wear a supportive bra as it is. But yes, the V in the prom dress made it way too revealing and it was too tight on the top. She could’ve followed the dress code and not had a problem. The fact she’s trying to get press over this makes it seem that she just wants the publicity, and what she’s wearing in the interview makes me think she’s actually trying to show off her cleavage. I did at that age, too, but I still wore something that covered my chest to prom.
Awww I have a huge soft spot for her. She seems so sweet. Harmless. Yeah she’s in cheesy tv shows, but she just lost her mom. So ladies be nice.

Prom dresses are hideous and tacky. Do not understand the appeal. I also think the girl is being dramatic, but i didnt really see why her dress was all that big a deal to the school. But whatever I don’t have a big chest. I’m big, but not that big. I’m tall so the skirt on someone shorter will look different on me. I make due. I’m also fat….that’s probably why the skirt looks so different on me than my shorter and skinnier sister.

I must admit though, that it stings a little every time I hear of other women becoming pregnant because I am infertile. I know, I know — “you can always adopt!”. The reality is though, it’s not always so simple — babies don’t grow on trees and the adoption process can take many years and obscene amounts of money, depending on which route an individual takes (I’m Canadian and have considered both domestic and international adoption.)
I’ve also looked into fertility treatments and again, lengthy processes and large sums of money.
Neither adoption nor fertility treatments are a guarantee of becoming a parent.
I have accepted that perhaps it is just not meant to be for me to become a mother. And to be honest, I am 99% okay with that, as I have new interests and passions to pursue in lieu of parenthood. I understand that life is not fair and that this is an area of my life that clearly exemplifies that fact.
But sometimes, when I hear these happy announcements, there is a sharp pang of hurt and self pity in my heart that is difficult to deny.
That being said, I am happy for any woman who makes the decision to become pregnant and I wish both of these women healthy pregnancies and babies.
Aw Laura. I remember having fits of jealousy over hearing other women’s pregnancy announcements when I was trying to get pregnant for the first time at 38. It was quite painful! Sending happy vibes your way! Being content no matter your state of affairs is very difficult sometimes.
Sorry to hear of your struggles. You might also consider the various ways to do a surrogate birth, depending upon the laws where you live. You cold donate your eggs and have them fertilized and implanted, or some women use the surrogate’s eggs. Best wishes!

I’m happy for JLH. I tinkered she’ll be feeling very mixed emotions because her mother isn’t alive to share it with her, and because she wanted the marriage first, but I think she’ll be overjoyed too. She seems like a sweet (crazy) person, so, congrats!
Ok I felt bad for the girl at prom until I saw the dress. She is large chested yes but she could have found a dress that was not near so revealing & not had a problem. No more sympathy for her. Her parents should be slapped for allowing her to wear that out of the house…….

You guys all KNOW that ish DOES happen exactly that way sometimes. And 2. We’ve all kind of made fun of JLH on this site for years now for always kind of seeming like that kind if girl who would do that when it comes to men 😉
