These are photos from the permiere of director Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing, which promises to be an unconventional retelling of the William Shakespeare comedy. This is mostly a convenient excuse to post some photos of Nathan Fillion (who plays Dogberry), who is a fine specimen of manhood according to legions of fangirls (and boys) that fell in love with him throughout his Whedon run in shows like “Firefly” and “Serendipity.”
Would I hit it? Probably, but not when Fillion is dressed like this. Perhaps something more tailored could reel me in for a few hours, but this suit looks sloppy and gives me Enterprise Rental Car manager vibes. To be perfectly honest though, I’ve never had a big crush on Fillion even though he has a splendidly handsome face. Tall, lanky dudes are usually my type, but at times I do make beef-oriented exceptions like Chris Hemsworth. To clarify — yes, I’d hit Fillion at least once, but it would only be a fling, and he’d have to dress at least a little less sloppy. Not that clothing matters once it’s on the floor…
I’m including photos of Alexis Denisof (who plays Benedick) with Alyson Hannigan, and I’m throwing in some Joss Whedon for good measure.

Also, I absolutely do not see any Bateman resemblance: thank God! Jason’s face just doesn’t do it for me.
Part of his appeal is that he doesn’t seem overly caught up in trying to appear perfect all the time. He seems nice and grounded, which is refreshing.
He always looks to me like his face is (inactively) trying to be Jason Bateman. I’m just more familiar with Bateman, I guess, from Arrested Development.
But it’s like Brad Pitt’s brother…it’s just notquite Brad Pitt’s face.
There is a running joke on Castle that he signs autographs as Jason Bateman. I think he’s cuter.
HA! That is funny.
The joke on Castle (the fictionally famous writer) is that he passes a paparazzi who says “Hey, isn’t that Jason Bateman?” and Castle says to another character “Don’t laugh, I used that (the resemblance to JB) to get out of a traffic ticket once”.
Maybe I’ll have to catch a Castle episode, it sounds good…still, I’m way into Arrested Development right now and prefer Bateman looks-wise. He’s got that Michael J. Fox smirky thing going on…
IMO, Castle relies solely on Nathan’s charm and humor. Without him it’s just a boring old murder of the week procedural.

It makes sense if you think about it, she has no other projects in the works, and she needs to solidify her “role” as wife and mother because really what else is she known for?
I know which pix you’re talking about Marty, I did get that thought too (and god big sads). But she was just papped a couple of times over the past week and looked flat-tummied as ever. So I dunno. Ugh. Dont want to think about it.
As an addendum…I dont know if EP would go after a second pregnancy, at least yet/right now. She doesnt seem like a natural mom (for once this isnt snark at all, actually), in all the pap shots she always seems to be struggling with the kid. Chris (duh) and Elsa’s own mother seem to have an easier time handling India.
Plus she just did this spread in Women’s Health – I think with an idea that this body will get her roles. Btw, I watched FF6 and I found it absolutely hilarious that she is the only woman in the (fairly girl-power) movie that had to take her clothes off.
As for the wife/mother role – she isnt JGarner, who’s happy building her husband’s career. She isnt Reese, who has an Oscar, a track record and a production company and thus that image is a bonus. If EP solidifies herself as just a ‘wife and mother’ at this point in her ‘career,’ she will never be anything else. Certainly defeats the purpose of fame-hungry coat-tail riding.
All good points Anna! I really thought that she would try and get more roles in American films but maybe it’s just not happening? I was very surprised when I saw the pics, but unfortunately it was the first thought in my mind, that she looked preggers.

“Wash” had the best lines on what was arguably a very well-written show. Alas, he was killed off in the movie “Serenity” – but he died very heroically and wearing one of his infamous hawaiian print shirts. Wow, I know way too much about that series. I am a 50+ year old “fan girl”! :0

I got to see this at the end of the Dublin Jameson Film Festival. It was fricking amazing. I really recommend it. Joss masters Shakespeare on the big screen the way nobody else has.
The moment Nathan appeared in the latter part of the film the entire audience cheered. Although, that’s not surprising given the tickets were like gold dust and full of other Whedonheads like me.
