Michelle Williams is the newest face of Louis Vuitton handbags. Does this union make sense? Honestly, I don’t hate it, even though I don’t really associate Michelle with handbags or accessories or even the most sophisticated fashion. Her personal style seems – at times – comically girlish. More often than not, her style seems reminiscent of Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby. But! Looking at these ads… it works. They styled her correctly. It feels lux and even edgy.
Continuing to add new elements to its advertising mix, Louis Vuitton has tapped actress Michelle Williams to appear in a campaign spotlighting two new handbags, the W and the Capucines.
The campaign is slated to break in Marie Claire France, due on newsstands on Aug. 2, followed by an array of September and October magazines worldwide.
Best known for her roles in “Brokeback Mountain” and “My Week With Marilyn,” Williams is currently filming “Suite Française,” based on the novel by Irène Némirovsky. Peter Lindbergh lensed the Vuitton spots, with hair by Sam McKnight, makeup by Stéphane Marais and styling by Jacob K.
While handbags are the central focus — the W, a graphic blend of monogram canvas and multicolored leather, the Capucines, a tote exalting Vuitton’s leather craftsmanship — Williams wears looks from Vuitton’s fall collection by Marc Jacobs, and occasionally leans on a vintage trunk.
Yeah, they did the hair and makeup really well. This is the best she’s looked in a while.
Meanwhile, have we talked about Michelle’s new boyfriend? She’s dating an artist named Dustin Yellin. This is her first relationship since she and Jason Segel split earlier this year. Dustin and Michelle were seen for the first time in May, and there have been a few casual sightings since – you can see some photos here.

Yes! I’ve always thought she was so boring, ever since Dawson’s Creek days. To me, she was even more boring than Katie Holmes then! But I’ll give it to her; she photographs well and this shoot is particularly interesting.

Me too. I love Michelle’s look here. Although LV bags seem to mainstream for her. Well maybe they acts ugly do sell interesting ones but the only ones I ever see are those tacky logo bags everyone and their mother has that is obviously a knockoff.

Yesss, they really made her look great in this ad…love the hair on her! I just saw Take This Waltz starring Michelle, and I always find her so plain looking even though she could look more interesting…of course, fashion shoots are a bit unrealistic for everyday, but I have to say she looks great here.
