Here’s a photo of Clint Eastwood on Tuesday on the set of his newest directing project, Jersey Boys, in Los Angeles. I think the movie is a film version of the stage musical, but all I can think of with that title is, you know, “Jersey Shore.” But I have to give Eastwood at least a little credit than to think he’d make a movie about a bunch of orange juiceheads.
On the personal front, Mr. Eastwood’s life is still a relative mess at least as far as his marriage is concerned. Clint and former newscaster Dina Ruiz have been married for 17 years, but it’s been rumored that they have lived apart for the better part of a year. These troubles follow Dina’s insistence upon showcasing the family in a doomsday reality show that Clint wanted no part of. The two were said to not even be speaking in March at his daughter’s wedding. About a month later, Dina checked into rehab for (alleged) depression and anxiety issues. Now Us Weekly has gotten wind from Dina’s people that she and Clint are formally separated. As for Clint, his rep claims to know nothing about any of this. Uh-oh:
Maybe Clint Eastwood just isn’t the marrying kind. The Dirty Harry actor, 83, has separated from second wife Dina Eastwood (nee Ruiz) after 17 years of marriage, Dina confirms exclusively to Us Weekly.
(Eastwood’s manager, when contacted about the split by Us, said only, “I know nothing about that.”)
The former TV news reporter, 48, says that she and Eastwood remain close but have been living separately for some time. In fact, a source tells Us the two actually split more than a year ago, in June 2012. “Clint fell out of love with Dina a long time ago,” the insider says, noting that the separation was “amicable.”
Married since March 31, 1996, Dina and the Million Dollar Baby director have one daughter together, 16-year-old Morgan. Eastwood is also dad to seven other kids, though he has only been married once before. (He and first wife Maggie Johnson had a daughter, Alison, and a son, Kyle; the rest of his kids are from other relationships.)
Morgan and Dina appeared together — along with Eastwood’s daughter Francesca, from his relationship with Titanic actress Frances Fisher — on the E! reality series “Mrs. Eastwood & Company.” The show — which ran for one season in 2012 — followed their lives in Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif., where Eastwood was mayor from 1986 to 1988.

Interesting how Dina’s people released this story while Clint seems clueless, right? Well this week’s issue of the Enquirer has published a serendipidous story about how Dina is totally over her marriage and has already found herself a jumpoff in the form of her high school boyfriend. This dude is a 50-year-old “strapping athlete,” Scott Fisher, who is the University of Hawaii assistant basketball coach. Supposedly, “Dina is in love with Scott. It’s like high school all over again.” The Enquirer says that Scott was recently Dina’s personal guest at Clint’s beach mansion in Hawaii while Clint did pre-production duties for Jersey Boys. Dina supposedly told Clint that she and Scott were only friends, but “Clint knew better.”
I think it’s fairly obvious that Dina and Clint have been all but over for at least the past year, and the fact that Dina flew to Hawaii on what would have been Clint’s 83rd birthday was pretty much the last straw. That’s cold.

First Michael & Catherine and now Clint and Dina. This usually happens anyways when men marry women that are much younger than them. After a while the younger woman is ready to move on.
Except in the case of Michael and Catherine, he’s the one wanting to move on.

Clint is also the one who wants out here going by the part that says he fell out of love long ago.
Men grow grouchier with age, or atleast Clint and Michael did. They are less likely to bend and accomodate. You cant even seduce them into submission because of the dip in sex drive.
Men at that age either need to be with an elderly wife who has known him forever and can call him on his shit authoritatively. Or a young dumb bimbo who is too young to have her own mind, because that girl will bend, wont question, wont lash out in frustration etc.

He was 65 and she was 31 when he married her, so…yeah. He should have known better.
I don’t like Dina at all, but Clint had it coming. in the spitit of what goes around comes around I mean. He has dogged the women he’s been with for years. Had a baby with another woman while still married to his first wife. Had 2 kids with some flight attendant while in a 14-yr relashionship with someone else (who he made have abortions and tie her tubes). He’s a total dog. Excellent director though.
I love how Clint styles himself as a conservative but has 7-8 children to 5 different women. Classy.
Eastwood does not “style himself as conservative.” In fact, he is a self-described “social liberal” (see the March 1999 edition of “Premiere” magazine) who has also stated, “I don’t see myself as conservative” (see the January 25, 2004, edition of “USA Weekend”), and “I’m not really conservative” (see the February 24, 2007, edition of London’s “Oberver”).
Also, he did not factually force Sondra Locke to undergo two abortions and a tubal ligation (that’s just her story, the better to serve her gold-digging ambitions in court), and Locke remained married throughout her relationship with Eastwood.
Reality TV claims yet another couple. Not that I am particularly sad about this, because Dina comes off as a bit of a famewhore, but yeah…don’t go on reality TV if you want to have a happy marriage!

This is what I want to know!! There are serial monogamists & confirmed bachelors out there but I am most mystified by guys like Clint & Rod Stewart Who have many long term relationships but only a few women actually get them to the altar. What was Dina’s secret that Sondra, Frances et al lacked . She sure seems like a ditz.

Old men who want to have much younger wives/girlfriends, generally have to settle for what they can get. They naturally don’t get the cream of the crop ever, because the cream of the crop has much more options. Hot/smart young women generally want hot young men and won’t settle for a geriatric no matter how rich or famous.
Just because Clint’s publicist didn’t know doesn’t mean that Clint himself didn’t know.

I love me a good Clint Eastwood movie especially the early westerns. But any woman needed to run away from him.
I would guess that he treats his women well as long as he is in love with them, but I think when he is “done” with the relationship that he is brutal.
I remember when he discarded Sandra Locke. I remember when he discarded Francis Fisher. Those women went public with what they were experiencing in the breakups. Ouch.

I will say that 17 years married to Clint has to be some sort of record. I am sorry to see them separate because I think she was a good woman that was full of spunk and kept him interested for many years.
Eastwood was married to his first wife, Maggie Johnson, for twenty-five years before their formal separation, and Frances Fisher did not skewer him publicly after their split. The only one who did so was Sondra Locke, who was considering suing him for money even before they split up and who’d remained married throughout their relationship.

OMG! I knew her jump-off looked familiar…any other West Aussies here? Scott Fisher – one of the star players for the Perth Wildcats basketball team and then their coach for years…small, small world.
I dont know how they made it work for so long. Yes, she seemed famewhory and eager for some sort of project but she also seemed well intentioned and nice. What I found disturbing was that she never seemed at ease with Clint, or like an equal partner and that her opinion meant anything to him. She definately came off like a second class citizen and that he was this distant King. He certainly seemed 100% distant and aloof to his children. I ended up feeling sorry for her. I certainly wouldnt want to be married to him. And, to the person who said “now shes rich” he is notoriously brutally cheap and their home reflected that! Shocking! Im sure when she leaves she wont be leaving with much! Kid or no kid. Sad.
She’s not a materialisitc person and seems sensitive and not up to emotionally fighting Clint, so I doubt will ever go into a divorce war fighting him for more money than he’s offering. They will come to an agreement and it will be over, papers signed.
Good for her. She’s got a new boyfriend from back in the day. He’s handsome. I think they have been separated for years. He basically has been gone for a lot of their marriage off on location directing movies, while she poured herself into raising the girls. They are basically gone and there was nothing holding them together. He’s still gone shooting movies and she is home alone realizing they have nothing in common anymore. That their split was reasonably amicable says it all. The marriage was long over, just facing it was the last hurdle.
