Peter Dinklage sings about ‘Simon Says’ on Sesame Street: amazing?

You know that Peter Dinklage is pretty much the most awesome man on earth, right? Right. I think everyone knows that. So not only did PBS score Tom Hiddleston (teaching Cookie Monster about delayed gratification) and Henry Cavill (teaching Elmo about respect), but they also managed to get Peter Dinklage to come in and SING about Simon Says. This is pretty much the best thing you’ll see all day:

Peter has such a lovely voice, doesn’t he? My one complaint is that it’s very obvious Peter pre-recorded the song part because he forgets to lip-sync at one point. But other than that… yes, he’s the most awesome person in the world.

Dinklage wasn’t the only Game of Thrones star to stop by Sesame Street this season – Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) taught Murray about the word “relax”.

And here’s Charlize Theron teaching Abby about the word “jealous”. Charlize is super-cute here.

That made me almost as happy as seeing the Idris pictures yesterday did. And considerably more able to type!

  2. Sarah says:

Ugh, I’m having Game of Thrones withdrawal. I need new episodes

      +1

This looooong waiting time from season to season just kills me!!!

    • Lucrezia says:

As a book-fan, I have to raise an eyebrow at everyone complaining about the long wait for TV episodes. I’ve been waiting for GRRM to finish the series since 1996!

It’s going to be interesting in a couple of seasons, when the TV show catches up to the published books. Apparently GRRM has told them the planned ending (in case he drops dead before finishing it), but he wouldn’t be happy with them going there before he finishes writing it.

      • Sarah says:

I suppose I should read them then to keep your eyebrows where they belong. I’m enjoying the tv series. I’m not reading the books but gold star for you!!

      • LadyMTL says:

GRRM has told them the ending?? Who are these people, I must find them and get them to tell me! I’ve been reading the series for so long now and I neeeeeed to know.

      • TherapyCranes says:

I’ve been wondering this as well. It takes him so long to write the books! The show is going to catch up before he is done. I would really like to read the next book since the way it was left was such a cliffhanger.

Sarah if you’re dying to watch the show then maybe you should read the books. They’re a bit long winded but enjoyable if you love the series.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

I was so disappointed in the last book published, because I thought it was the final one and it left so many unanswered questions. I’m glad to know there’s another one coming out.

      • Lucrezia says:

@ Good Names: actually there are another TWO books scheduled. But since this is GRRM, who originally claimed it’d be a trilogy, there is no guarantee it’ll stop at 7.

And since GRRM takes an average of 4 years per book, while the HBO production is averaging a book or half a book per season, you can see that HBO is going to run into trouble fairly soon.

      • Bridget says:

GRRM is under a ton of pressure now to produce those last 2 books, and he totally doesn’t get it. The fact that the producers of the show gave an interview to EW speaks volumes to how freaked out HBO is right now. The crux of the matter is that they have a very limited amount of time that they can actually stretch out the series as they have several child actors in pivotal roles, and those kids could potentially age out by the time GRRM finishes. And he totally doesn’t get it. He thinks they can just pull a Spartacus and do a prequel season (of Dunk amd Egg) and then come back to GOT when he’s done. HBO mustbe freaking out, but I don’t know what they really expected with GRRM and I don’t know what he was thinking – there was no way that HBO was ever going to let him fart around for another decade.

The only 30 Rock episode I like is the one where Peter guest stars as Liz Lemon’s crush. It is a good one.

  4. Lucrezia says:

LMAO! It’s supposed to be satire right? Peter is totally channelling Hugh Grant from Music & Lyrics (where Hugh plays an aging boy-band singer).

  5. Sarah says:

And I freaking love Peter Dinklage

  6. Mitch Buchanan Rocks! says:

    He is hotter than Cumberbatch.

  7. QQ says:

*runs in circles from the exciment*

  8. Bodhi says:

Why the question mark? Hells yeah it was amazing!!!

  9. TherapyCranes says:

I love you Mr.Dinklage. That is all.

  10. gg says:

He looks oh so much better without the pubey beard.

  11. Samtha says:

If that doesn’t make you smile, I don’t know what will. He and Lena were great.

And how much of a goddess is Charlize? She’s perfection.

  12. bangarang says:

I love him. Tyrion Lannister is my favorite character on GoT.

  13. Just So says:

I don’t watch GoT, but maybe I should, just for the Dinklage factor. I have a major crush on him.

  14. PerfectDate says:

Enjoy Peter Dinklage in this, didn’t know he had such a good singing voice!

Is this where we get to share clips of our favorite stars on Sesame Street? Go watch R.E.M. singing “Furry Happy Monsters”. That is classic. And also Ricky Gervais giving Elmo a Celebrity Lullaby. Hilarious.

  15. Claudia says:

My favorite was the one with Lena Headey. They’re best buds in real life. As much as I adore the Dinklage, I didn’t like ‘simon says’. I’m not a big fan of singing bits.

But can someone explain to me why so many celebrities do the sesame street thing? I’m genuinely curious. Is it just the ones who have kids? Or a good resume builder? Hmm.

  16. I Choose Me says:

I liked the one with Lena Headey best but yeah, Peter Dinklage is awesome.
