Kelly Osbourne is back in rehab – for the fourth time. She has had a long and sordid past with pill addictions, though mom Sharon Osbourne won’t say specifically what type of addiction Kelly is being treated for. Last week, Kelly was arrested for slapping gossip columnist Zoe Griffin – who called her fiancé Luke Worrall stupid.

The actual incident occurred at Punk nightclub in London in August, but Kelly was only arrested last week. A lot of celebs suddenly go into rehab after an arrest in an attempt to make it look like they’re taking responsibility for actions they couldn’t control at the time. But Kelly has struggled with addiction for years, and in her case it seems like the rehab is definitely legitimate and needed.

Kelly Osbourne has checked into rehab for the second time.

Her distraught mother Sharon confirmed she is receiving treatment at an unspecified facility in LA, where she is expected to remain for 30 days.

In a tearful interview, the wife of Black Sabbath star Ozzy Osbourne said: ‘Yeah, Kelly’s in rehab.’

‘What else can we say? She knew that it was the right thing to do at this point and we’re proud that she did it. The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she’s getting it.’

‘This is one of the absolute worst things that a parent can face, for their child to go through rehab. And not once, but twice.

‘We just pray that everything’s going to be okay.’

Sharon would not discuss the nature of Kelly’s problem.

‘Kelly will tell you herself when she gets out,’ Sharon told Radar Online.

The Mail is wrong when they say Kelly’s going to rehab for the second time – it’s actually her fourth stint. This past March she and brother Jack went on ABC’s 20/20 and talked about their addiction issues. And unlike what you might expect, they didn’t come across as whiney or self-indulgent at all. They both seemed really honest, though it was apparent even at that time that Kelly was still struggling with her addictions.

The following was transcribed by Celebitchy from the 20/20 interview:

Kelly’s early start: Vicodin at 13
Kelly said that she first experimented with drugs at 13 and took Vicodin. She said it silenced all the self conscious thoughts in her head telling her she wasn’t good enough. All the negative coverage of her weight in the media fueled her drug use, she said.

Kelly was usually high on “The Osbournes”
Kelly said that a lot of the screaming and fights you saw on “The Osbournes” were due to all the drugs she was on at the time and that they really heightened her emotions. She said it made her bratty and selfish.

Kelly took 100 pills a day; threw up blood
Kelly admitted that her parents did find a bag of pills that she had with 500 pills in it before she went to rehab, and explained that, “my mom would come into my room every single night and I was throwing up blood, because the Tylenol in the Vicodin was wearing away at my stomach lining.”

Kelly’s low point
She said her low point was waking up to her mom pounding on her back trying to resuscitate her because she had stopped breathing. She had peed the bed and said “At 20 years old, to wake up, by your mother trying to resuscitate you in a bed of your own piss. That is mortifying.”

Rehab worked for Jack, didn’t work at first for Kelly
Jack went into rehab after his suicide attempt at 17 and it’s safe to say it worked for him as he says he hasn’t had a drink since.

Kelly said that after she went into Promises rehab for the first time in 2004 she got high the day she got out and that it didn’t help her. “All I did there was buy 30 days of time and learn tricks from other addicts. And get a massage, lay by a pool… I was out of there… that night I was high.”

The narrator explains that Kelly’s third stint in rehab worked for her, and she said “It just clicked. You have to have that realization that you’re never going to win.”

It’s good Kelly’s back in rehab, whatever her issue may be. By now I’m guessing she knows what she has to do to keep herself on the straight and narrow once she gets clean. Hopefully she can figure out what her triggers are and avoid them in the future. It really seemed like she was doing a lot better, and she certainly has the potential to do a lot with her fame once she cleans up.
