Kirstie Alley feels ‘extremely betrayed’ that ex-Scientologist Lean Remini is on DWTS

As you know Kirstie Alley is a big Scientologist, and she also had somewhat of a minor career resurgence with stints on Dancing with The Stars and DWTS: All Stars. So Kirstie considers DWTS her domain. She also absolutely hates new DWTS contestant Leah Remini, because Leah dared to boldly distance herself from the Scientology cult that Kirstie so slavishly follows. Leah’s sister told the press that that Kirstie held a meeting of Scientologists that were former friends of Leah and ordered them to shun Leah for defecting from the cult.

Earlier this week, Leah mildly spoke out in some DWTS rehearsal footage about how she’s been treated by the cult. She said “the church is looking for me to fail so they can say to their parishioners, ‘See what happens when you leave the church?’” In response, COS officials issued a haughty semi-literate statement that they “could care less if she wins or loses on Dancing With the Stars.” The correct phrase is “couldn’t care less,” but whatever. We know what a Scientology education is worth.

Of course Leah’s minor comment has Kirstie’s dander up. A “source” tells Radar that Kirstie would never make a guest appearance or be in the audience on DWTS after they hired Leah. They also say Kirstie feels “extremely betrayed” that DWTS picked Leah. Well how does she think Leah feels then? Leah never personally went after Kirstie, she just decided the “religion” wasn’t for her. Kirstie’s the one who ganged up on Leah. Anyway here’s Radar’s report.

Alley was “absolutely stunned when it was announced that Leah would be a contestant on the show. Kirstie did feel extremely betrayed. Kirstie was livid that Leah made those comments about the church on Monday night,” a source exclusively told Radar.

“She couldn’t remember another religion being targeted and disparaged on Dancing With The Stars. Enough is enough, Leah needs to move on and stop talking about Scientology.”

Remini defected from the church earlier this summer, and called her exodus from the organization a “big change for me and my family,” and said that when you’re invested in the church, “you’re used to taking a lot of negativity on yourself.”

In February 2011, Alley became a contestant on Season 12 of Dancing With The Stars, and she was the seventh couple eliminated from the competition — but won’t even think about appearing on the show again because of Remini.

“If producers of the show were to ask Kirstie to appear on the show or in the audience this season, she would absolutely decline,” the source added.

[From Radar Online]

This is sour grapes from Kirstie. Here’s what I think happened. A new report in the National Enquirer claims that Leah told producers to keep Kirstie off the show so that she wouldn’t feel intimidated. Kirstie probably got wind of that and issued this stupid “source” statement to Radar saying that she wouldn’t be on if she was asked. Well I doubt she was asked. Here’s the Enquirer’s story, from Mike Walker’s column.

Furious Leah… exploded when she learned producers… were booking Kirstie for an in-audience interview shot. Raging Remini warned execs she will NOT interact with her mortal enemy/Xenu disciple, especially if she visits backstage – and doesn’t even want her sitting in the audience! “Leah feels that if Kirstie’s anywhere on or near the set, she’s there to intimidate her,” said a show insider. “After hearing Kirstie was on the booking lineup, she told producers she refuses to come face to face with her Scientology enemy – and asked them to make sure they’re never on the set at the same time. She doesn’t even want the pressure of knowing Kirstie’s in the audience. Anxious to avoid explosions, producers pledged they’ll do everything they can to accommodate Leah’s wishes.”

[From The National Enquirer, print edition, October 7, 20130]

I don’t blame Leah for wanting to keep Kirstie off the show. Kirstie would have sat in the audience glaring at her and willing her to trip up, like Professor Quirrell casting a spell on Harry Potter’s broom during a Quidditch match. That is some witchy hair if I ever saw it.

    Who is Kirstie Alley in this world anyway? As if her opinions on Rimini or anything matters. Alley is a bitter, nasty woman who spends her life on Twitter like an 8th grade mean girl.

  2. Surgeryhugs says:

    big fat meanie is all i can say

    • emmie_a says:

      …and you’re just as mean for calling her fat.

      But yes, she is mean. And who does she think she is that she would have any say in DWTS-related decisions??

    • itstrue says:

      Oh geez, she is fat, but no one would mention it if she were super sweet. Sometimes when you’re an asshole it makes your weight or your face more of a liability.

    • m says:

      Doesn’t the “big an fat” refer to the size of her meanness (sic), rather than her body?

      Like when kids call each other “big fat liars” … I always thought it referred to the size of the lie, even skinny kids are called it.

    • Jacqueline says:

      Oh, Jesus. Get over it already. She is fat and lies about her dress size. Sometimes the truth just hurts. Kirstie has been a loud-mouthed asshole for a long time. You open yourself up for sniping when you represent yourself that way. And if she shed all the weight, if be calling her a skinny bitch. So there.

  3. brin says:

    She should feel betrayed by her hair stylist.

  4. Organic says:

    How does she keep other Scientology minions from turning up though? Its not like she can present photos of all the cult members she knows.

  5. DanaG says:

    Like DWTS care about Kirstie Alley. It wasn’t her show and she got the best deal out of it. Leah is doing the right thing and I hope she wins! I wonder if CofS is giving it’s members access to a phone so they can vote for anyone but Leah. Wouldn’t put anything past them. Kirstie needs to back off this shows what she really is and it isn’t pretty.

    • ncmagnolia says:

      SRSLY!! Narcissistic much, Kirstie?

      I’m sure the producers of DWTS are like, “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, K”. Pffft.

    • Decloo says:

      The CO$ will definitely work the system to try to get Leah off of DWTS. I’m quite sure they have mobilized their phone banks just as they did when Kirstie was on the show. If Leah were to hint at this while on the show she could get a crazy amount of sympathy votes from anti-cultists. It might be a real showdown.

  6. Andrea1 says:

    Can I just say something pls don’t throw rocks at Me!
    What’s So special about Leah leaving CoS everyone is making her look like a hero. If she left fine but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t aware of all the shady things they have been doing all these years! I don’t give her a pass for leaving because there is nothing special about her leaving.. They know what CoS has been doing all these years which doesn’t make them innocent altogether when they leave fine but that doesn’t turn them into heroes
    That’s my opinion anyway.

    • Kiddo says:

      She was born into it, so, Stockholm Syndrome?

    • SamiHami says:

      Andrea, the difference with Remini is that she was raised in Co$; she was raised by a family of scientologists. That had to make the decision to leave much more difficult. And considering how they’ve treated other former members, it seemed quite courageous to me. It had to be frightening for her.

    • Andrea1 says:

      Thanks now I get it. I didn’t know she was born into it.. Kudos to her for summoning up the courage to leave..

    • emmie_a says:

      Her entire life evolved around Scientology. It was a huge decision to leave because she risked losing her entire circle of family and friends, in addition to her entire set of beliefs. She had been brainwashed her entire life to think, act, believe as a Scientologist would. I’d say to walk away from that was a brave move.

    • AnnE says:

      Leah was born into Scientology. Leah`s downfall with Scientology and why they turned on her, making her and her families lives miserable was because she DID speak up for anyone who chose to leave and did not follow orders to disconnect from them. Google Paul Haggis, Leah deliberately maintained contact with him when he left, even though they were never close friends but she wasn`t going to be told who to be friends with. She isn`t the bad guy, Kyrstie Alley is, a juvenile mean girl, she has done the same thing when others left the cult.

    • Bridget says:

      Read Marty Rathbun’s blog to get an idea of the stuff they pull on blown members. Scary, scary stuff. Stalking, intimidation, kidnapping, murder – the CO$ has no boundaries, no morals.

    • Shady says:

      Also they DON’T know what’s really going on because they are forbidden from looking at church criticism in the media. And the e-meter will find out if they disobey. Leah was so hardcore second generation that she was even in the sea org. I have a lot of hope that other celebs will leave, but I think Kirstie, jenna elfman, the travoltas and of course TC are going down with the ship.

      Kirstie tweeted the other day that there are 10 million scientologists worldwide, which shows how in the dark these people are. The stats and censuses show that the numbers are closer to 20-40 thousand, and it’s probably closer to the 20

  7. anne says:

    Kristie is such a nobody, though.

  8. Kiddo says:

    How would Kirstie be able to sit in the audience and yet comply with the shunning rules?

    • Charlotte says:

      She would be there to intimidate, if she ever went, and that is most definitely Co$ approved. They can inflict ‘fair game’ on Leah in any way they see fit. Leah would know, just as everyone else in Co$ would, that Kirstie being there has nothing to do with supporting her former friend. Plus, Kirstie could play it off as support to the press and plead incredulity if any negativity was spouted about it.
      Leah ‘declared war’ by leaving, and she is playing the game so brilliantly. She’s being very subversive and baby-stepping her Co$ downfall. Celebitchy didn’t cover it, but Leah was papped carrying a copy of Marc Headley’s ‘Blown For Good’ whilst leaving rehearsals the other week. That is HUGE; That’s like publicly slapping David Miscavige whilst spitting in his face and saying ‘your move, beyotch!’
      The Underground Bunker is where everybody who has even the mildest interest in this should be headed. Shiz is getting REAL. I am so freakin’ excited by Co$’s imminent downfall!!!

  9. Deedee says:

    I couldn’t even finish this story. If this is true, then these ladies are just juvenile. Just a reminder ladies, you’re not in high school anymore.

    • TinyTurtle says:

      Not quite high school

      Kirsty is part of a cult that MURDERS people for leaving. So it’s much more sinister than just mean girling.

  10. Nev says:

    High school.

  11. Chicagogurl says:

    Ages ago my ex had the cutest sweetest great aunt Lorraine. She was frickin adorable and hilarious. Looks like smaller betty white. Pinching 20 something mens butts talk about how she hadn’t felt something that hard in 30 years. Anywho, she had a big heart and gave to all these charities and was a member of Red Cross for 50 years, etc. I told her once she was very pretty and she said that as you age you better be more beautiful on this inside because it seems to seep out onto your face. I tend to agree and think Kirstie is probably just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

  12. RHONYC says:

    “If producers of the show were to ask Kirstie to appear on the show or in the audience this season, she would absolutely decline,”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    like any of those male dancers would take on her monstrous hooves again! 😀
  13. Brittney says:
    Loving the Quidditch analogy… that’s exactly how it would go down, too. After all, Hubbard did write that “suppressive persons” may be “deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist … May be tricked, sued, or lied to, or destroyed.”
    Ugh. This whole thing just makes me livid. How are these cretons (sorry, clears) still getting a government blessing?! HOW?!?!
    • gg says:
      PAYOLA, inside people, PAYOLA, severe intimidation tactics, the list goes on. Money talks, unfortunately.
      But whenever a $cilon opens their mouth, 7th grade shite comes out. They don’t educate their people.
    • Bridget says:
      Don’t forget that the FBI investigation was accidentally blown when Going Clear was published. They WERE actually trying to do something, but it’s not like the public is suppised to know about a secret investigation.
  14. Bridget says:
    The CO$ PR policy never ceases to amaze me in its ham-fistedness. They can’t just keep their traps shut and be polite. Kirstie is such a great example ofthis, she’s constantly trying to say that she’s persecuted because of her religion and loves to threaten lawsuits (which never materialize).
    And can anyone really picture Leah Remini being scared of seeing Kirstie Alley? I can’t exactly picture that Brooklyn girl running from a fight.
  15. Juliette says:
    I find it incredibly egotistical that KA thinks she’s so important that she would have any say on who appears on DWTS. I don’t watch the show ever, but am now soley because of Leah. I’m really rooting for her and think she’s a cool, down to earth woman.
    Kirstie is irrelevant & this is obviously an attempt to keep her name in the press. Probably shilling for her new show that will be cancelled after the first season.
    She’s horrible & a fraudster. She just had to pay out two massive settlements in relation to her Organic Liaison diet program.
    Couple that will all of her bullying, everyone should just ignore the rantings of a lunatic IMO.
  16. KellyinSeattle says:
    I just have to say I am the biggest King of Queens fan…love Leah AND Kevin James! Don’t care about Kirstie Alley.
  17. Dorothy says:
    I don’t know Leah or Katie Holmes or much about them but I admire them tremendously for choosing to leave Scientology. I have seen a friend go through it and it is VERY unpleasant and really is frightening for those who are celebs and try to leave. (And if you are in Scientology and it is helping you and you are choosing to stay and being kind to those who do not – fine, that’s your business, not mine so not judging you) but again leaving it can be brutal so I do admire Katie especially (she really with her family’s help pulled off the impossile!) and Leah as too. (Liked her in King of Queens and seems really funny and likable but the whole Jennifer Lopez BFF thing puts me off her, because although not as bad as Gwyniie level of ego, Jenifer IS a diva too, so wouldn’t be surprised if Leah was too. Either way good luck Leah (and Katie). Kirstie, don’t care for and I think Scientology is really hurting their already BAD rep with all their little snipes (and yes some threats) at those who leave…Kirstie being perfect example of it.
  18. CatJ says:
    I used to visit with an ex-Scientologist, who was 84, on oxygen all the time, and, just lived quietly with her dog. 50 years ago, she was in the Sea Org, and pawned her wedding rings for “lessons” in LA.
    She had been out of the cult for years, but, still, until the day she died this August, they harassed her by calling her on the phone, acting like wrong numbers, at least ten times a day.
    Pour old soul!
