There are so many funny pieces about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s relationship, but I think one of my favorite parts is Kanye’s attempt to remake Kim into some kind of high-fashion girl. He’s tried to get his fashion designer friends to dress Kim, often to terrible results. At this point, I do believe that Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci is actively trolling Kim (probably because Tisci wants Kanye all to himself). So at some point, will Kanye admit that Kim doesn’t have the best style? Will he admit that she cannot dress herself at all? Will he admit that this fashion thing isn’t working out? Well, he won’t admit it publicly, but he’s freaking out a little bit privately:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West‘s daughter North is only a few months old, and the couple already has another baby: a secret kiddie clothing line! But what started as a fun project for the new parents has turned into a huge source of tension for the pair, and only RadarOnline.com has all the details of the fashion fight.
Shortly after Kim gave birth to “Nori” in June, “Kanye encouraged her to pursue her own baby clothes line,” an insider tells RadarOnline.com. “He thought it was a great way for her to be taken a little more seriously and cut the cord with her family. He wants her to establish a new career away from reality TV and this is how they think she can do it.”
So Kanye set up meetings for Kim with his fashionista friends like fashion editor Carine Roitfeld and Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, his BFF.
“Kim really threw herself into it because she loves fashion and also because it makes Kanye happy,” the source says. “She seems desperate for him to respect her and approve of her.”
But unfortunately for Kim, “control freak” Kanye won’t let her handle it on her own, the source claims.
“He opened doors for her where they were once shut, which is great,” according to the insider, “but now he’s giving her his two cents on everything and it’s driving Kim crazy. The truth of the matter is that he doesn’t think Kim has good style and he knows whatever she produces will be a direct reflection on him. He doesn’t trust her to do her own thing.”
West already made over his girlfriend months ago, famously throwing out the majority of clothes in her closet. Now, instead of looking to stores like Bebe and Sears for inspiration — both places the Kardashians have sold inexpensive clothing lines in the past — West wants Kardashian to focus on an “extremely high-end and expensive” look for the baby line, says the source. “He wants her to use Givenchy, Celine, and Lanvin as inspirations for her sketches.”
“Kim does, but she says she wants to use Nori as her ‘muse’ and translate her own favorite outfits into ones for the baby,” the source reveals. “So far, it’s just all kinds of wrong and Kanye is constantly correcting her on how to dress Nori.”
Pushed to her limit, Kardashian recently fought back, the source says.
“Kim joked to Kanye that he should give up music for a full-time job in fashion but it didn’t go over well,” the insider says. “Nobody, including Kim, speaks to Kanye like that, especially if they don’t want to see his temper. Kanye snapped at her over it.”
“Of course Kim just backed down after that,” the source sniffs. “And now she’s suddenly obsessed with creating minimal, fashion-forward outfits for kids. Which just happens to be exactly Kanye’s style.”
Currently designing custom-made clothes for Nori, Kim could make the transition to a full-blown fashion line over the next year, according to the source.
“Kim says she knows her image is pretty set, but she’s hoping that she can play off Nori to movie into high-fashion design circles,” the source explains. “Kanye’s already helping her to do that, but this would further erase her trashy past and make her even more money at the same time.”

Why doesn’t Kim want Yeezus to be great? Because seriously, the world needs a Kanye baby-clothes line.

I can’t stop laughing at this! Kim trying to explain her vision to Kanye who gets all huffy about how her style sucks…when in reality her style was so much better before she met him. (And it wasn’t exactly stellar so that’s saying something).

I seriously doubt he’s physically abusive. Emotionally abusive, quite likely, but it’s not something he’d recognize. I’d guess he’s hypercritical, along with being totally self-absorbed and narcissistic. And probably terrible in bed. I don’t think he’s in a sexual or romantic relationship with Tisci either, though. I think Kanye is not capable of a relationship with anything but his own reflection.

It pains me to say this but out of the 2 Kim has the best sense of style. She looked ok before she started dating Kanye and she looks like crap now that she wears what he tells her to wear.
Agreed! She might have always worn super tight and revealing clothes but they were never as bad of disasters as they have been since Kanya started dressing her. She wore lots of jewel tones which worked so well with her skin tone and now she’s always in black or drab neutrals.
This all just screams abusive relationship to me. Maybe not physically but to control every single thing your partner wears? Can you say control issues. I’m genuinely starting to feel sorry for her at this point. She’s that girl (we ALL had/have a friend like this) who always has to have a bf, falls in love at the drop of a hat and completely changes her life to how he likes.

Oh good god. Like this woman has ever really designed anything. All she does is says she likes this and that and then someone else does the design and she adds her name to it. The funny part of this is Kanye West is right, she is not the fashionista she thinks she is but then he isn’t the designer he thinks he is either! Maybe if this woman had finished high school and then went on to college she wouldn’t be so desperate to make him HAPPY and would just move on with her life regardless of his opinion. I was just passing through Sears on the way to the rest of the mall and saw that the whole Kardashian collection was on sale or clearance. Kanye probably doesn’t want to be tied to clothes that don’t sell.
At what point am I supposed to be so concerned with what my newborn is wearing? During the school run, where I take my seven year old to school and the babies never get out of the car? After the bath, when it’s too hot to put her in anything but a singlet? After she’s vomited on that singlet? The singlet after that? The several sizes too big tee shirt belonging to the toddler that I’m left with when every other singlet is dirty? When I’m ringing my husband to bring home more nappies? Maybe on Sunday, when we finally leave the house and get seen by public eyes, and I’m just so thrilled to have another pair of hands to hold her so that I can brush my hair and drink a cuppa in one sitting without it going cold?
All those singlets are at least second hand, too. She’s grown out of most of them in the time in took me to type this. The next ‘high end’ clothing I’m forking out for is for me, when I shed this baby weight. For the third time. And even then, I’ll probably Op Shop.
Seriously. I bought baby shower stuff for a friend and it was all 4-6 month old stuff because I went, “You’re going to sneeze and he’ll go from 9lbs to 15lbs.”
She didn’t believe me. All those cute ThinkGeek singlets didn’t last long.
I also buy “big” for baby showers. After the baby shower, the baby ends up with a wardrobe to die for because everyone buys newborn sizes. Eight weeks later, all the baby shower clothes are too small and baby has nothing to wear. So I buy for 4-6 months sizes. I also bring big trays of lasagna over when I visit the new mom @ home – that way she doesn’t have to cook dinner for a few days. I am very practical and do not buy “fashion forward” baby clothes.
I’m with you. Having my first in Dec and it’s all onesies (mostly from consignment stores unless grandma is buying). I hate wasting money on clothes covered in spit-up that she’ll wear for 2 seconds
Consignment is definitely the way to go. My problem is that the clothes are so cheap ($1-$2 for pants etc) that I buy too many and my daughter doesn’t wear them all before she gets to big for them. Hard not to go overboard.
Yesssss to all of this! When my son was little a friend handed down a pair of baby air Jordan’s that her son had only worn once. She paid $60 for them. I don’t spend that on my own shoes!
So true. They wind up out growing about half of what they have before even wearing it. You get so much stuff from family and friends, not to mention all the adorable baby clothes you buy yourself.

Meanwhile, Riccardo is ordered to teach Kim to sketch and he is telling her to trace a can of Spam to form a baby.
Every time I see one of these stories, I really believe that this is a real life parody of “Female Trouble”. (Although Divine was a woman with 100 times more class and style than Kim and she was just a rotten of a mother to her daughter Taffy as Kim would be North w/o any army of nannies. Kim is Dawn Davenport (with her cha cha heels) And Kanye and Ricardo are Donald and Donna Dasher).
The problem is her body can’t do high fashion.
All Kardashian and Kanye jokes aside, if the reports are true, this sounds like an abusive bullying relationship.
Kim must really love Kanye or she believes that she cannot do any better as far as fame and money goes in a boyfriend. Not to mention that Kris would never let her leave Kanye until the relationship is milked for all it’s worth.
With all the reports with Lamar and Kanye, shockingly Scott is turning out to be the douche-less more mature, responsible, loving, and respectful boyfriend and parent. You know there’s a problem when SCOTT is winning with these criterias.
IT’S ALL FOR THE SHOW! Kim being “bullied” by Kanye is part of the new storyline for next season (Blind Gossip). And now “appropriate” lead-in stories are being leaked by “sources close to the family”.
If you want to be entertained by the K klan, fine. But don’t ever believe that any of it is true. And Kris and Bruce’s “break up” is the other new story line for next season.
If it’s all for the show, I’ve gotta give Kim credit for being a hell of an actress and able to stay in character for very long periods of time. She’s looked unhappy for a very long time now. Of course, it might be something other than Kanye that’s making her that way (or pretending to be that way), but I wouldn’t want a relationship of any kind, real or fake, with him.

Okay, how many stories are the Kardashian family going to push out of “poor Kim”. While I in no way think Kanye is Mr. Nice or Polite, I doubt Kim is being bullied or pushed around by him. Fact is any guy that gets caught up in Kardashian web will be spun to be the bad guy.
These two are not a couple – they’ve been friends for years, hooked up for a while, she got pregnant – whether he was a willing participant is debatable, but I’m sure he loves his daughter, and wants to create some semblance of a family for her. Kanye’s real relationship is with Riccardo; Kim knows it, and is fine with it. These “controlling” stories are all part of PMK’s plans to bolster ratings for KUWTK, which is tanking – it’s all contrived.
YES!!!! The Kardashians aren’t stupid (when it comes to the press, that is) and they would be fighting this with leak after leak of ‘ahppy, happy’ stories if they didn’t like the way Kim and Kanye were being portrayed. And Riccardo hates Kim and loves Kanye, that much is clear from heinous outfit after heinous outfit he puts her in.

Earth to Kanye, the girl is totally untalented, and worse, downright stupid. Her career is what it is, and when the tv gig is over it will be over for her.
I’m not sure she is totally stupid as much as really uneducated which gets really boring. And as far as Kanye West thinking that getting her pregnant while married to another man is the way to clean up her image he is either as clueless as she or he thinks the tape and that little nugget will become old news. So no Kanye if that is indeed your goal, it’s going to take more than a baby line to clean up her image.

Kim has pretty good style on her own. She just doesn’t have a fashion-y body.
She’s got a great curvy body. But high fashion, couture stuff requires a straight up/down, flat body and zero chest.
She’s never going to pull off runway fashion they way a model (or someone with Kendall Jenner’s figure) would. I’m not sure Kanye, or Kim for that matter, recognize that.
This will be a disaster. Since nannies are taking care of Nori most of the time, Kim probably won’t understand the need to put snaps and zippers in onesies/dresses/pants, so they’re easy to get on and off a squirmy baby.
I was going to buy a Heidi Klum-designed footed onesie at TRU once but didn’t because it didn’t have any snaps or zippers to make it easier to get on/remove. There’s no way I could have gotten it on my kid.

If Kim is supposed to reflect Kanye and style then they need to try again. For Kanye and his mate Tisci to style Kim (allow her to be seen in public) like they have reflects terribly on them. How could you trust a designer who makes a woman look like that?

This would be funny if Kanye actually had fashion sense, but he has none. Kim’s style may not be high fashion art, but it’s commercial – girl knows her style and what her consumer market is, and has done quite well for herself. It’s not design wow but it sells. Kanye on the other hand, designs cringe worthy outfits he thinks of as art while the rest of us in the fashion industry (and everyone else) think he’s a joke. Kanye needs to get over himself already. I think she got caught up by his personna (talented, famous). But in the end of the day must be difficult to live with somebody like that. Even for her!!!! He seems to be a very difficult man to live with.

The thing is, she had style back in the day. It wasn’t high fashion or anything, but she knew what worked on her, she looked good, and the clothes were relatable. Nothing wrong with that. And then Kanye comes along and turns her into some high fashion Frankenstein. She has not looked her best since she’s been with him, and it’s because he has no good style advice for her. He should leave her to her own devices, she looks better that way.
