Here are some photos of Karl Urban and Michael Ealy in Vancouver a few days ago. They’re starring in a new TV show called Almost Human, which should not be confused with the SyFy show Being Human (I’ve already made that mistake and I had geared myself up for a huge argument about unnecessary remakes, but I’ll put a pin in that and save it for another time).

Almost Human’s tagline: “In a not-so-distant future, human cops and androids partner up to protect and serve.” Sounds kind of dumb, but maybe it will work. That being said, I’m guessing that a lot of American fan-girls are happy about Karl Urban coming to TV soon enough. Urban plays the human cop, Michael Ealy plays the robot cop. Lily Taylor is in it too, which is a big plus – but is she enough to get me to watch the damn thing? I like Karl Urban too, and I think he’s sexy. But I’d rather see him do a more by-the-books police procedural rather than some sci-fi thing.

As for Michael Ealy – I confess that I’ve only seen him in one thing, The Good Wife, where his character was incredibly underdeveloped and underutilized. That’s not on him, although I was happy when he left the show. Since we seem to talk about ages more often lately, Michael is 41 years old, and Karl is 42. Yep, I can see that for both of them.

I will give them this – it looks like they’re having a good time together.
