And what better way for her to get free publicity about it than to use Bart Simpson’s voice? Everyone will have an opinion, and people are talking about it. Well played, Scientologists.
However, Bart–and the voice–would be a registered Trade Mark, would they not? Wouldn’t the creators of the Simpsons (or whoever owned the trademark) be able to sue her?
She’ll always be that bitchy sister from Twilight Zone: The Movie to me. In my mind, she is *not* Bart Simpson. I love him too much!
I’ve been waiting for this to happen ever since I found out Nancy Cartwright was a Scientologist. It was only a matter of time, and I’m a little surprised it took this long for her to whore out such a shining beacon of pop culture for her “religion”.
That’s why I stopped watching the show and turned on Family Guy.
that aint right.
theres no need to drag bart into this fuckery.
At least it happened now when The Simpsons is but a pale shadow of its previously great self.
Who owns the likeness to Bart Simpson? Her, Fox or Matt G?
What vdantev said. Haven’t watched The Simpsons in years, and knowing that a part of it is being used as cult propaganda, I’ll just avoid it even more.
My guess is that they’ll sue, but with all the money that the celebs give the “church,” it’ll probably easily be settled out of court. Much cheaper than trying to pay for the publicity it’s getting, perhaps.
