Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart are no longer engaged. They had gotten engaged secretly early last year, and then they announced it in the summer. Mosshart seemed strangely perfect for Kelly – he was low-key, not a social media famewhore, a vegan chef and he has Helena Bonham Carter’s hair. But there was drama. Mostly on Kelly’s side. Entirely on Kelly’s side. There were stories about Kelly perhaps not really being as “sober” as she claimed, and possibly fooling around on Mosshart. Still, after those cheating rumors came out, Matthew and Kelly were still seen out and about together throughout December. And then they were over.
Bittersweet New Year. After two years together, TV personality Kelly Osbourne and vegan chef Matthew Mosshart have ended their engagement, Osbourne’s rep tells Us Weekly exclusively.
“Kelly Osbourne and Matthew Mosshart have decided to end their engagement,” says the rep in a statement. “The split is amicable and the pair continue to have nothing but the utmost respect for one another. Kelly is looking forward to a new year full of fresh beginnings. No further comments will be provided by all parties and we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don’t expect it.”
The couple met in the summer of 2011 at Kate Moss’s wedding before stepping out as a couple that December. They confirmed their engagement in July 2013 in a romantic Anguilla proposal.
At the time, Osbourne, 29, told Us of Mosshart, “I’ve never felt this close to another human being, ever. People say we’re co-dependent, but we just want to be together all the time.”
The Fashion Police star hasn’t directly spoken out about the breakup on social media, but on Jan. 8 she tweeted, “its all about perception sometimes the bad things that happen in life aren’t really bad at all especially when you learn something from it!”
The couple was last spotted out together on Dec. 12 at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Hollywood.
If they’re saying it’s amicable, then so be it. I tend to think Mosshart is a quiet guy and he wanted a quiet lifestyle and Kelly had a hard time giving up her (crack) drama. I mean, just take a look at that “statement”: “we request privacy, decorum and space from the press but don’t expect it.” Like Kelly is super-A-list and everyone is constantly in her business and like she doesn’t engage in stupid Twitter feuds every other month, putting herself and her drama out there for public consumption on a regular basis. I’m just saying… what guy really wants to put up with that on a daily basis?

They say with fame comes emotional stunting and you stay at the maturity level you had when fame hit. Well, she’s a mess of a person, but look at her background, who could possibly grow up in the circus she lived with and be well-adjusted? On top of which she was raised in LA surrounded by a pack of equally shallow navel-gazers so there you are. I don’t like her, she’s a nasty immature creature but it’s sad that her relationship didn’t work out. Relationships are hard enough even when you’re not into vapid fame-whorey-ness and Drama, Drama, Drama!!!
I dunno, Jack and the other sister who stays out of the limelight seem just fine to me.
Her background is not a good excuse considering that her sister is normal and most people don’t even know she exists. And she was raised by the exact same set of parents in the exact same surroundings. Their brother used to be a total mess but he seems relatively normal and likeable now.

I think most of these famous people suffer from stunted development. Working only on what keeps you famous really skews your life. Almost all of them seem immature and one dimensional, especially among the younger set.

I love that everyone loves his hair, because for me it is like looking in the mirror (minus the man face lol). I so desperately wanted it to be straight and “normal” when I was a teen, but now I love it. Given my name, I’ve always been a little resentful of the PIA acronym haha.
I read an article recently where they were at a party together and she was drunk and flirting shamelessly with other guys in front of her fiance, so I’m not surprised to read about them breaking up. Glad it was a long engagement, otherwise it’d be a divorce they’d be going through.

Awwwww. I love Fashion Police. And I think she is pretty good on it. She has opportunities to be bitchy sometimes and she sometimes surprises me with a bit of grace.
Actually, Kelly knows a lot about fashion. I would say out of all the hosts on that show, she is the one who truly understands the ins and outs of the fashion world. She knows what she’s talking about. I’m always impressed with what she has to say on the show. Just because people may not like Kelly’s own fashion style, doesn’t mean she is clueless.

@OK & @idk– I agree and happen to like her. I’m rooting for her. I don’t have or follow her on twitter or whatev but I like her on fashion police. She gives a different and fresh, younger, sometimes punkish perspective.
The only time I saw her catty on fashion police was when Christina Aguilera called her fat and it really bothered her so she slammed back when Aguilera went through her chunky faze. I thought she was fair to do it too.

I have no strong feel for the guy and know little to nothing about him because he doesn’t seem like a famewhore that tried to use his time with her to become a household name which actually says a lot about his character. All I know is that I just like his hair. As for Kelly, I don’t like her. No she was raised in England. She moved here with her family just before they started taping their reality show (she was around 15/16 I think). She went back and fourth living in both LA and UK for years. I think she is settled in LA now because of work.

Kelly Osborne is the daughter of one of the most famous front men in rock n roll history, so I doubt that her fiance is turned off by her attention hungry ways. He looks like a metal music fan, so I would not be surprised if he were getting close to Kelly to get to Ozzy.
