I’m sad to say that this news comes as no surprise. Heidi Klum and her bodyguard boyfriend, Martin Kristen, have broken up after about a year and a half of official dating. The timeline of the relationship is a bit wonky. Seal and Heidi had a nasty end to their marriage in early 2012. Seal went on to say that they split because Heidi was banging her bodyguard (or in Seal’s words, because she “decid[ed] to fornicate with the help“).
Who knows when Heidi and Martin actually hooked up for the first time. All I know is that when Heidi and Seal ended their marriage, Martin was painted as a knight in shining armour. He was the one who physically restrained Seal when he allegedly pushed Heidi. When Martin and Heidi went official, we immediately heard reports that she was trying to make him over as he resisted. They lasted about a year before I started to grow suspicious of a split when Heidi went solo on her favorite holiday last year. Now Heidi has made an announcement to People:

After dating for a year and a half, the supermodel and her bodyguard boyfriend Martin Kirsten separated a few weeks ago, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.
Klum, 40, started dating Kirsten, 41, a few months after she filed for divorce from Seal after several years of marriage.
“Martin was there for her during a challenging time in her life and it was something she will always be grateful for,” says a friend close to Klum.

Kirsten and Klum are also ending their professional relationship.
“They are no longer working together,” another source close to Klum confirms to PEOPLE.
“Life is about timing. He was incredibly supportive and they were there for each other, but they’re moving on now,” adds the source. “They still have a great friendship.”

“Life is about timing….” Those words tell me either that Martin was a rebound or a jumpoff or both. I bet Seal is quietly enjoying this event, but it sounds like the relationship between Heidi and Martin simply ran its course. Perhaps a shift in the balance of power — from being an employee to being the guy who still gets a paycheck but now shares a bed with his boss — well maybe that was too big a change to last forever. It’s a bummer that Martin’s losing his job, but when you bang your boss, I guess you should be prepared for some fallout. Martin’s got plenty of experience, so hopefully an opportunity will soon come his way. Maybe Kate Gosselin is hiring?

Didn’t really see this lasting. With all the semi nude ‘selfies’ she post this past year I get the impression it’s all about me, me, me. I also thinks she’s one of those women that can’t live without a man in her life.
Still, I’m sure it’s hard on the kids. She needs to take a time out from hooking up with the help and focus on her children.
Someone in the industry told me Heidi has a terrible temper and that Martin was a pretty easy going guy. But my gut feeling is that you are right, Heidi is too much in love with herself to ever really love someone else.
Really? I once read an interview with an VS insider, I think it was someone of the people who make the wings, and he said Heidi was one of the best to work with. Gisele and Naomi ( shock) had a temper.

No surprise at all….I do feel bad for the kids, they seemed pretty close to Martin…I’m sure Heidi will have a new fella in 3…2….1…She is like Jlo….can’t be without a man for very long…
I was happy to hear she had someone to transition her out of a nasty divorce but I agree, she doesn’t seem to like being single.
Do we know for sure that their relationship was abusive, our was that just a claim from Heidi to counteract the cheating with the help rumours?
Even before the divorce there were some whispers of abusive behaviour on Seal’s part. And Seal did nothing with his actions to squash that — in fact most of his actions continued to support those claims. But there have been whispers for years — even before Heidi.
Those poor kids have to deal with her messy love life. Your bodyguard is now Dad kids, Dad is now fired and you can’t see him again.
So now he’s ripped out of the kids’ lives because Mommy can’t be without a man. Maybe she should focus on them instead of looking for the next hook-up. It’s nothing new. There’s a lot of women out there who put a man before their kids.

I agree. I think it’s a very snobby, offensive remark, implying that someone who works for a living is inferior and that she is shamed or brought down by her association with him. I thought less of him for saying it at all, and even less for saying it publicly.
And to hear it with his British accent gives it a platinum touch.

Wasn’t there a blind about them somewhere? I know blinds are generally crap but if I remember correctly this one seemed to be pretty spot-on. As for the two of them dating, I didn’t care about it when it started and I don’t care now that it’s ended.

I still loved her with Seal. Seal was touring after they split. He is so amazing. The opening songs in NY at The Beacon below. He had Macey Gray opening for him. He’s such a showman with great songs and plus doing his Soul II Covers. I loved his rendition of Backstabber live. I used to love the clips of Heidi in the front row with some of the kids watching him perform. She seemed so in love.

Seal had it wrong. Technically she committed adultery with the help. Fornication specifically refers to sex between two unmarried persons. It was still a good, snarky comment from Seal though!
He was the rebound guy. No surprise they broke up. They lasted too long in my opinion

Personally, I loved Heidi & Seal together. I always rooted for them. I think Seal was very protective of Heidi & the kids & worshiped the ground they walked on. I generally like to give my fellow women support, but in this instance I put the blame firmly in Heidi’s lap. Heidi’s always looking for the next love/lover — grass is always greener concept.
Agree. Loved them together. I always thought Heidi put out the abuse story to counteract the fallout from her her hookup with the bodyguard. I could be wrong, just my opinion.
Most people don’t use abuse as just a story. Plus, there were comments even before about Seal possibly being abusive. Not saying he is but it’s worth a double take.
Agree as well. Seal was there for her when her when her plans to trap a billionaire with a “surprise” pregnancy didn’t pan out. She went on to have 3 more kids with Seal. Every interview she have she talked about how awesome Seal was and how he was the only one for her and their love was sensational. She did those stupid vowel renewal every year. Then when she decided she wanted to bang the help she used the convenient excuse that Seal was abusive. I don’t believe her. Heidi is low class to date the body guard that was entrusted to their family. It is a betrays on both her and that user’s part if another level.
It seem like they had an understanding of a sort.. He helped her in her time of need while he fornicate for free..

Martin seemed to be a really stand up guy. I think Heidi ultimately wants a flashy guy; Martin was too pedestrian for her. Her children seemed to love him.
