Last week, we learned that Hugh Grant had fathered a third child with a second woman. But the news was a bit trickier than that. The first baby-mama/ex-girlfriend that we knew about was Tinglan Hong. Tinglan gave birth first to daughter Tabitha in 2011, and then Tinglan and Hugh welcomed a second child, a son named Felix, in early 2013. Chronologically though, Felix was Hugh’s THIRD child. Because in between impregnating Tinglan for a second time, Hugh impregnated a woman named Anna Eberstein. Anna gave birth to their son three months before Tinglan gave birth to Felix.
Questions arose last week: why did we not find out about this kid until now? Well, first of all, Hugh does guard his privacy. There’s a good chance that Hugh would have preferred that we never know about any of this. But there’s also a chance that Hugh and Anna waited some time to confirm it so that all of the paternity tests could be completed. Although a paternity test – for a person of means, like Hugh – is relatively straightforward and it doesn’t explain why they waited more than a year to confirm it. Maybe Hugh still has some doubts though, because it certainly sounds like Anna’s family has some doubts:
As the news of Hugh Grant’s third child came to light, the family of his baby son with Swedish TV executive Anna Eberstein have said he looks nothing like the actor. Elizabeth Berggren, Anna’s aunt, told the Daily Mirror: ‘It’s funny, the baby does not look like him, he looks more like Anna’s mum when she was little.’
The 16-month old baby was born three months before Grant’s second child (by ex-lover Tinglan Hong) came into the world, and Elizabeth says Hugh has not visited them in Sweden yet.
‘We all love the baby to bits. Anna has brought him over many times to see us,’ Elizabeth said. ‘She is an excellent mother and we are thrilled Hugh is the father but he has not been to visit yet. We’d love it if he did and would give him a warm welcome.’
Anna, 35, and her son now live in £3 million luxury apartment close to Grant’s London home, giving him easy access to spend time with the boy.
Hugh, 53, fathered Tabitha Xaio with Tinglan in September 2011, after what he described as a ‘fleeting affair’ with the 33-year old, but in December 2012, they had their second child Felix.
Anna had originally left Hugh’s name off the birth certificate, but added it last December, more than year after the birth of his son. Grant visited the register office in person with his girlfriend to remedy the omission. This time, the little boy – who the Mail is not naming – was given Grant’s surname and his father was listed as Hugh John Mungo Grant, occupation ‘actor’.
In 2011, before Miss Eberstein became pregnant, they were pictured strolling around London dressed casually in jeans. About a month before their son was born, Miss Eberstein moved into a £2.69million mansion apartment bought for cash, and she is the sole owner.
It is unknown whether Miss Eberstein knew about Grant’s former partner Tinglan Hong, who also lives close by to his west London townhouse.
Would you get pregnant with Hugh Grant’s baby if it meant you got more than $3.5 million in cash to buy a house in London? Plus, you’ve got to imagine that he’s sending a monthly check as well. Here’s my question: did you have any idea that Hugh had that kind of money to throw around? I mean, he’s never lived hand-to-mouth. He’s always been posh and he came from a wealthy family, I believe. But he does, like, one movie every three years. How does he have millions of pounds to spread around to his assorted baby-mamas?
Anyway, I wouldn’t read too much into the whole “the baby doesn’t even look like him” thing. Most babies look like Don Rickles. It doesn’t necessarily follow that Don Rickles is the father!

Has Hugh ever heard of birth control? Maybe he wants all these kids, which, his choice, I guess. But two within three months of each other? That’s a bit too skeezy even for him.
I completely believe he can afford the baby mamas. Besides coming from money, he made a boatload in his heyday, and he’s probably banked it and invested well – no expensive addictions or flashy spending habits for him. He has enough of the toff in his blood to be conservative with the money, I think.
Time for a vasectomy
All of this is his business and he clearly prefers to keep his private life private.
As for the money question: He used to be one of the most in-demand actors so clearly he did alright (he probably got a share of the profits from those huge romcoms as well). He also told a story a couple of years ago about how he bought an Andy Warhol painting for 2 million GBP that turned out to be worth 13 million GBP. So…
LOL at the last quote (also, so true!!). I don’t know, maybe Hugh as been smart and saved a lot of his movie-money but, well, he seems to be posh when it comes to his lifestyle.. I wonder about that.
Has Hugh Grant never heard of sexually transmitted diseases?
He could be careful with his investments, and has made his money that way. You are right though, he doesn’t have anything like the HP kid’s money. I believe his Swedish baby-mama was his side-piece away from Tinglan (of course, they could have some agreement where he agreed to be “discreet” in some sort of open thing), he was very open about the second child and how great she and the baby were….but kept this baby and baby-mama hidden.
Are Hugh Grant, Jude Law, and Owen Wilson all trying to win a bet? It’s like they’re in a semi covert fertility competition.
Lololol.
Ha! That’s awesome.
This is all rather skeevy to me. And to think I used to find him so attractive.
Scandinavian features can be very dominant – I know from experience.
He should have procreated with Liz Hurley… Why did it with all these homely women? Especially Hong, there’s something cunning about her.
The baby looks like her side of the family? Well, she did provide one half of the baby’s genetic material, so…?
I am not surprised he has that kind of cash, either. I’d think he has a very good team that helped him invest, and that can make all the difference.
Hugh made a tonne of money during the 90s which he invested very well. Plus for a nano second, he co-owned a production company, Simian films, with Elizabeth Hurley that was super successful. When it was dissolved, they both pocketed a tonne of cash.
Edit: also wanted to add that unlike his compatriots during the 80s, he worked steadily on what he called euro-puds. These were European productions financed by various European partners, usually of classic or romance type films. He met Elizabeth on one of these productions. He didn’t seem to care about the quality of the productions, only that he was paid.
Until he made the decision to retire in the late 00s, He was working steadily and continuously since the 80s.
He can afford to raise three children successfully. I fail to see the fuss: it is not that they will be dependent on the state or tax-payer.
