When I saw this news last night, I emailed Kaiser and CB with a half-joke: “Liam Hemsworth does NOT have a type.” The more I think about it, the more I believe it. The youngest Hemsworth was with Miley Cyrus for years, and we all know how that turned out. I shouldn’t bag on that pairing, which was actually sweet until they got engaged. Then Miley moved in one direction (rachet) while Liam stayed the same low-key, dopey guy he always was. When Liam and Miley were officially over (and I’m convinced they quietly split months before the actual announcement), Liam wasted no time turning tail. He went from being with a very famous girl to smooching Eiza Gonzalez, who was mainly interested in Liam for her own career boost. I’m pretty sure that was a mere fling, but Eiza basked in the glory for weeks.
Now Liam has moved on to a quieter, gentler sort of woman. He was spotted kissing Nina Dobrev in Atlanta on Friday evening. Liam is in town for Mockingjay shoots, and who knows why Nina was there. She dated Derek Hough last fall for about a month before they broke up. The last we heard from Nina, she was hooking up with ex Ian Somerhalder, but I guess that’s over now.
Celebuzz broke the story and has the photos of Liam and Nina chatting each other up the Corner Tavern. An onlooker said, “They were there together and were with a couple other friends. They were definitely acting couple-y. They stayed around two to three hours and Nina left before Liam, and as she was leaving they gave each other a good night kiss… [and] she ran off into a car service with her friend. The kisses were on the lips publicly outside of the bar… and it was three sensual kisses on the lips.” Not just kisses. “Sensual” kisses.
What do you think of this pairing? They’re both very pretty people. Nina seems quiet and shy, and Liam seems like a goofy and shy guy. Liam is hot but he doesn’t seem too bright. He’d be good for a hookup, but not for a relationship. Perhaps Nina feels differently?

Yep. Most of them rent places in my friend’s building. I’ve run into several of the actors – along with Walking Dead people – at bars, and they’re always nice to fans (which I’m not, but they’re gracious when folks approach them).
Were they actually at a Corner Tavern? I wonder if it was the Edgewood or Westside location. Probably Edgewood.

And to add to what someone said upthread, yeah, Nina has a pretty bad rap in Atlanta – she goes to the same gym as all my friends, and everyone – patrons and staff – say she’s pretty nasty. But the rest of the cast is delightful!
I can’t believe that she’s nasty, she comes off as super likable (not that I don’t believe you, there’s plenty of stuff on the internet that the rest of the cast hates her – still surprises me). Then again, she’s friends with Julianne Hough, who I find super dumb.

I agree. I think his thing with Miley actually makes him look like a nice guy, because he kept the end of their relationship on the downlow for HER career.
What I don’t understand is how sharing a car with January Jones means anything—especially since we know that Liam and Miley had been broken up for a while and playing coy (Miley, that is). It’s not like he and January were making out on their way TO the car, were grabbing on each other–they shared a limo ride. And haven’t been seen together since.
I know that January J. has a reputation–but that doesn’t mean she’s out screwing every guy that looks at her twice.

lol, yea, definiely doable, but neither are much more than a pretty face. As far as Liam, the douchiness factor doesn’t factor in if it’s not a full-on serious thing. All he takes is him doing the job where he’s meant to and uhhh….. well, I guess not going behind your back while you’re getting it on if that’s the arrangement.

He seems like normal would be a better match for him. He’s very tight with his family, a kinda quiet and normal dude, and Miley never seemed like a good match. I think most guys don’t way drama, immature and high maintenance, and she seems like she would be all three. I bet she needed constant reassurance and he just wanted to get laid regularly….
I agree, Josephine. Some people (men and women) seek the drama, I just don’t think that Liam is one of them. OTOH, Miley definitely likes the attention and the drama. They are just very different people and both will probably be happier with someone else. Also, I got to quit clicking on Miley posts when they broke up because there was no longer any chance of seeing pics of Liam and/or Chris so this has worked out really well for me 🙂
I was talking from a gossip perspective, not about what Liam would find exciting or boring. Liam dating Nina is boring to US, the observers, not to him. I have no idea what he’s into.

Yeah, I see your point. I don’t think that Liam minus Miley is as good for gossip. I do find him more interesting than the cliché that is Miley because, at least, with him there is some mystery about what he’s into. May turn out that he’s into surfing, smoking a bowl, and making whatever films comes his way. Is that particularly interesting? No but, at least, he has the possibility to be and/or become interesting, perhaps, particularly through his relationships.
Also, he and J.Law would be hot!

Yeah, I’ve passed Ian and Jason Momoa on Edgewood (Noni’s, usually) a bunch of times, and they’re usually not really swarmed. They’re just kind of drunk and chilling. I’ve never gone up to them, because I don’t watch Vampire Diaries and I’m plenty happy to just look at Jason Momoa, but my friends have and they’ve been really cool. A friend who sees Nina at the gym a lot said she’s not nice, but the same friend also used to live next to Ian and said he was great.
Walking Dead people sometimes go to The Albert and Diesel, and they’re known for being really nice, too.
