Mindy Project being renewed is the best news I’ve heard today!!! Whoopi! Not to be confused with the star – just my expression of enthusiasm. I like the Following so I’m happy about that – but no where near as happy as I am for Mindy. And how about Hulu? It says Mindy does well on DVR but Hulu sorta has the same benefit (my wonderful hubby wrangled the 1st season for me since it wasn’t on Netflix).
Yay for Mindy and for Brooklyn 99! Those are my top two right now.
I didn’t laugh once during the Adam and Eve bit…man I the only one who didn’t think it was funny? Being naked didn’t make it funnier to me either. (This has nothing to do with religion preferences btw, I just thought it was seriously unfunny)
It was more a parody of Girls and how Lena is alwaya naked. I found it funny.oI’m warmng up to her.
Me too. I liked the Scandal sketch because of the sort of naive “civilian eye” commenting super-spy Scandal stuff. And beyond the naked parody, the idea of a girl discovering life and a new world (NYC or Eden) did translate to the Eve bit. So it didn’t feel like they just forced the character type in without thought.

I enjoyed the Scandal and the Adam & Eve skit. I was on the fence about the intro. I was mildly entertained by the green card couple.
Lena was pretty good, but I never thought she would be bad. She can be funny. So, yay for Lena’s SNL. I’m a big enough person to give her credit.
Still can’t stand the smug little entitled twit, though. Born on third, thought she hit a triple, as the saying goes.
I didn’t think she was bad but I’m not sure I would say she was good. The only skit I found funny enough to be good was the Weekly update bit. Other than that, I told my husband that SNL is rarely funny to me but on the rare occasion it is, it’s really funny. I guess that’s what keeps it going all these years. It strikes gold just often enough.
How have we not talked about Lindsay Lohan’s documentary today? I’ve been waiting all morning. BOO.

Lena wasn’t bad on SNL, but I still don’t find her very likable.
I am so happy about Mindy and especially Brooklyn 99! Both are good shows and I’m glad they’re getting another chance.

It’s definitely Affleck. He is a well known alcoholic and Lainey hinted that she would bring something up about him.
But Affleck went to the Oscar after parties with Jennifer.
@Momzy , he went to the Vanity Fair party with her, but was on his own for the later parties. Plus Batman versus Superman has been pushed back (none of RDJ’s movies have) and multiple sources have mentioned Ben having an injury. Blinds can and should be taken with a grain of salt but this is 100% talking about Affleck.
I think it’s Ben…I know blinds are usually BS, but Ben was looking strung out in some of those Oscars pics and some pics of him as of late….He also went to the parties alone…
She wasn’t bad, people have been ragging on SNL but there were many stretches in the 80s and 90s when it was subpar, to say the least. Hosts are dependent on the material they are given. On a side note, the band The National, was I’m sorry completely forgettable; another sad comment on the state of rock – hipsters or quasi-hipsters or whatever they are called simply cannot rock – give me INXS, 80s U2, Queen or Zeppelin over this meh stuff.

I’m not American. I’ve mainly seen clips and skits of SNL episodes primarily from the 2000s and the vast majority of the sketches are just terrible. I just don’t understand how the show is so popular in the US because it’s incredibly cringeworthy and badly written TV. I get that it’s live but there’s so much bad timing, lame anvilicious jokes and so many jokes that rely on OTT facial expressions and repeating the same thing over and over again until it’s just no longer funny. This clip made me grin once or twice so I would consider it one of the better episodes but most are plain bad. I watched a couple of the Jennifer Lawrence SNL clips, figuring it would be funny like she is, and it was just painful and cringeworthy.
I’m guessing they have terrible writers? For example, I’ve found Kristen Wiig very funny in feature films but the SNL clips I’ve seen with her are awful!

I am not American and I have accused that for not finding SNL very funny.
There have been bits and pieces which have made me laugh over the years, but generally I just find the sketches somewhat boring and/or a waste of a good talent on actors side.

About Lainey’s blind, i also think it’s Ben Affleck … It can’t be RDJ, none of his movies has been pushed back unlike Ben with Batman vs Superman.
From the way Lainey wrote that, its seems that he is a victim. There is always someone making an excuse for him. Always.
The Lainey blind has to be about Ben, the only big movie pushed back from filming recently has been Batman v Superman with Ben as Batman.

Saw the middle/end of her on SNL and she was pretty funny! I know a lot of ppl don’t like her but being in the demographic she writes for (18-25) I guiltily really enjoy GIRLS and her other work/writing. She was on the Graham Norton Show w/ Idris a bit ago and she was SO FUNNY/weird/awkward/hilarious! Idk… I like her but i easily see why others don’t.
