Ah, this takes me back to the good old days when Lindsay Lohan was “living” in a hotel room at the Chateau Marmont, only she was broke so it was a big conspiracy as to HOW she managed to live at the Marmont. It was a mystery until we discovered that Terry Richardson keeps a room there permanently and he pretty much worked out some kind of “trade” with LL. The whole time, Terry kept taking cracked-out photos of LL looking like she was high as a kite.
Anyway, these are new Terry Richardson photos of the Cracken, courtesy of Terry’s Diary. I guess they were taken in NYC? He says that she was at his studio. I can only imagine what kind of cracked-out shenanigans went down. If anyone deserves a good Lohan crack-jacking, it’s Terry Richardson. I hope she stole everything that wasn’t nailed down.
Otherwise, I’m kind of suffering from Cracken Exhaustion. LL sat down with Ellen DeGeneres last week and the interview made news, but LL didn’t say anything groundbreaking or anything. She claimed that she talks to Oprah every day. She claims that she’s super-sober and she claims that Wilmer Valderrama broke her heart. One interesting story: Lindsay has apparently been telling people that she could have had a part in The Avengers. Rii-ight. MTV surmises that LL might have been in discussion for the part that went to Cobie Smulders? Unless Marvel was going to recast Scarlett Johansson with a ginger crack monster?
Oh, and LL is still broke-ass-broke too – Page Six says her credit cards were declined while trying to make a $300 purchase.

Well according to the NY Post, Lindsay had a credit card purchase of $300 declined but a “friend” (Uncle Terry?) buy the item for her. The story was denied by Lindsay’s reps.
If she cannot afford $300 how can she afford a SOHO apartment? Did Oprah pay the rent for a year on that apartment, I figure it was only during filming.

I don’t doubt LL has gone and wasted her money on crack shenanigans, but credit cards get declined all the time for no good reason. I saw it happen a lot as a cashier. Credit card companies do random audits. And, of course, if you are showing unusual spending habits, they will often shut down your card temporarily. Just wanted to clear that up since it’s in no way a clear sign someone is broke.
I’m sure Lilo is “broke,” I just think she is “hollywood broke” and not broke broke.
I cannot see that happening for a $300 charge, maybe for a $5K charge plus IIRC this happened to her before.
You’re right msw, if you make multiple purchases in a short period of time it can trigger some fraud warning and your card will get denied. It happened to me once when I was out at a bead show using the card with multiple vendors and then hit Walmart to pick up groceries on the way home. It’s probably a good thing it does happen even if it’s a little embarrassing at the time. That’s the way card thief rings work, they hit stores fast. I’ve had 3 cards that needed to be replaced since last August for attempted fraud transactions and it’s a major pain.
But I think that’s normal people finance issues, Lilo has had stories about her cards getting denied at boutiques before. I’d be willing to bet she’s broke broke but still trying to maintain her old lifestyle.
Yes, I very rarely use credit cards, a couple times a year, and they always flag me because any activity is unusual for me. I’m sure that’s not the case with her though. She’s broke and a known grifter. I’d decline anything coming from her. No pity left.
But what “hollywood broke” usually means is that someone IS broke-broke, but there is an institution or sketchy person that is willing to lend them money at huge interest rates, in hopes that they will eventually earn money again. Michael Jackson racked up vast amounts of debt this way. Sometimes being granted a line of credit is just being given rope to h@ng yourself.
That being said, you are right that sometimes credit cards can be denied for reasons other than being over the limit. If a card company sees any purchases that are “unusual” (charges in a different area, non-typical stores, etc), they do frequently place holds on the card.
another website said that she tried not one, but TWO different credit cards and both were denied. Someone in her entourage ended up paying.
Nick, I saw it all the time on little purchases around ten bucks. It is absolutely not limited to multi thousand dollar purchases. Its happened to me and my spouse a and I have A+ credit and cash in the bank.
It can happen to anyone at any time.
When I think of Hwood broke, I think of Tori and Dean broke. Broke broke is not being able to buy groceries because your car needed a repair. I don’t know LL’s situation but she is not brokeif she is indulging herself. It doesn’t mean can’t afford a luxury apartment and fur coats at the same time.
According to what I’ve seen on her docu-series, Oprah’s producers gave her an advance on her pay for the deposits required to obtain her apartment. She really was that broke, as she obviously had no savings of her own to get an apartment herself. She probably still is, considering she was (is?) also paying a personal assistant, a sober coach, a personal driver, and a life-training coach (four people who are her paid employees on this show). I can see why she keeps going through money. Even if she’s not spending it on drugs/drinking (debatable) she still has an awful lot of daily help that she pays for, and that apartment can’t be cheap. Factor in taxes and that million bucks from Oprah probably went fast. She really needs to downsize, but she clearly does not understand that concept or think it applies to her.
How can young people aspire to “fame” when they see this spectacle?
Young people think they will FIGURE it out and nothing like this can happen to them… yeah yeah and I have a bridge I can sell you. Surround yourself with a bunch of fools and this is the outcome (family fools included)
Lindsay…….. There will always be someone prettier, younger and more talented. She’s had more chances and help than anyone else ever got. She’s an entitled, spoiled, ungrateful woman. She’s wasting her talent when she’s not working? What planet is she from? Your credit card was declined? Get a job!!
People think money and fame will solve their problems but they don’t, more money does indeed mean more problems and fame is not all its cracked up to be from my point of view. I’ll take obscurity any day.

I have to say that watching Lohan in her OWN show is incredibly frustrating. Why do the people Oprah hired to watch her allow her to spew the bs? She needs to hear the reason why she’s not getting acting roles- she’s not worth the drama & others have taken her place. At some point, I think we all need to acknowledge that the two (maybe three?) good performances the Cracken gave as a child actor are all there is. I’m resigned to enjoying those like that was a different person. She is not that person, did not grow as an actor and is a waste of our regrets.
I’ve seen parts of the show Oprah has about Lindsay , her apartment is trashed she has clothes all over the place and no furniture not even her bed just a mattress to sleep on. She seems very lazy and self in titled . I could not live in that clutter and she seems fine with it. She could of got some of these things in place before she got out of rehab. Half asser!!
I think in the past the home she had rehabbed for the one show (and then bailed on) was shown. I think it was her bedroom and it was pretty much the same way.

Lilo may be ”friendly” with the owner but they most definitely make her bill – she’s put that hotel through so many crack shenanigans over the last decade there’s no question that she absolutely pushed past any leeway she would have gotten. In fact she was banned not that long ago (was it last summer?) until she paid her bill. They’ve done it before when her bills get ridiculous, because they know she wants to come back. They know you can’t jus give a Lohan something for free because they’ll strip you clean like locusts (remember the Carvel debacle?).
She peaked at Mean Girls and that was 10 years ago. So I really don’t get all these people saying oh she is so talented. What’s the last thing she did work wise that makes people think that?
I had a case of the wide-awakes the other night and, lo and behold, The Canyons was on. Could not pass up that opportunity and let me tell you, that movie is golden. Golden. I expected the other actors to be terrible (they were) and I expected LL to be not great. She exceeded my expectations. Plain and simple, girl cannot act. I could literally see the wheels turning as she tried to manufacture whatever emotion was called for in a given scene. Whatever natural charm and unfettered ‘acting ability’ she had as a child is completely gone. If she were smart (she’s not) she would start trying to get work behind the scenes on film production, because aside from stunt casting, I see zero future for her as an actress.
Yes. There are so many young talented actresses around, whyyyyy does anyone waste nostalgia on this talentless hag?! Rhetorical.
So I’ve been watching her Oprah show, and she is completely entitled and delusional. She has people running around doing all sorts of things for her that she could be doing for herself, and she has every single thing she could ever need or want to stay sober. Like she literally has a team there helping her stay on track. If she falls off the wagon, it is all on her.
That being said, I am not sure she can help any of this. She doesn’t seem to know any other way to live, without a team of paid “friends” and helpers around. She has clearly always been coddled, probably as far back as she can remember. I don’t think she comes across as mean or nasty, surprisingly. She just comes across as extremely self-important and entitled, which is only further exacerbated by all of these people constantly at her beck and call. I don’t even think she realizes it, because this is how she has always lived, with someone taking care of things for her.
She seems to be more self-aware about her issues, though, than I thought she’d be. The sad thing is that I think she believes it when she says she wants to be sober, but she also admits there is always that pull for her to start up with the drugs/drink again. She is clearly conflicted, which I think is sad, because even though you’d think she’d hit her bottom by now (I mean, she’s broke and no one wants to work with her) she clearly still has not. I don’t know what it is going to take for her, honestly. You can see glimpses of the fun person she is/was at times, it’s a shame really. I can’t even muster up any meanness about her anymore.
