Michael Fassbender likes to dance. We’re always hearing stories about him dancing his ginger off at premiere parties, and occasionally there are brilliant photos of The Bender dancing with The Batch (sidenote: when I write a torrid romance novel, it will be called The Bender & The Batch). So what happens when Dancing Fassy joins forces with a old-school song-and-dance man like Hugh Jackman? Something wonderful. And something sort of sketchy.
Actors Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender reportedly danced around to “Blurred Lines” in between takes for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The 45-year-old actor told The Sun, “Michael was particularly enamored with the video to “Blurred Lines”.”
He added, “We’d strut about. I used to play the song in between takes on the X-Men set. It was a lot of fun. Everyone would just go into character and we’d be strutting around. It was identical to the video but we’d be mutants.”
It wasn’t just dancing either, Jackman added that they would sing along to the huge Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams hit, “I didn’t need to take the high bits. You’d be surprised what talented singers Michael and James [McAvoy] are. They could get up there.”
I would have preferred if Hugh and Michael were slow-dancing to “These Arms of Mine” just because that would have been… perfection. Will you take this? Or is it dumb because it’s stupid “Blurred Lines”? You have to remember, when they were filming X-Men: Days of Future Past, “Blurred Lines” was super-popular and we weren’t intimately familiar with Robin Thicke’s skeeze.

I say EWWWW.
One gal’s EWWWW is another gal’s YUMMM.
I’ll take McAvoy and Jackman singing and moving to whatever.
+1 Mia!
I’ll take McAvoy and Fassbender moving to whatever instead ;).
What??? Aren’t they both blokes?!???
It’s just the song. (Insert long anecdote that would bore everyone to tears so I’ll leave it at that). The song is an agent of taint.
“agent of taint”…holy crow, you made me laugh with that one!
No doubt bout it, it’s a crap song, but for some reason it has the power to make men all around the world get up and dance/flail. I’m sure there was much mickey-taking between scenes and Robin Thicke would be the perfect piece of fluff to have some fun to.
I’ve only heard Blurred Lines all the way through once, and that was because I was at a party and it would have been rude to walk away on my dance partner.
I need to see a video or it didn’t happen.
I’m hoping there’ll be a video on the DVD “outtakes” or extras.
PLEASE LET THE VIDEO APPEAR!! 🙂
I came here to say just that. Video please!
Exactly. We need video for, uh, proof. Need.
It’s an awful song but it is sooooo catchy and it was EVERYWHERE for awhile.
I can’t stop my love for Fassy. He just gets me.
So….no video?
I hope it was to this vid… Lol

Who was the hottest bitch in the place?
LOL Fassbender is such a weird dancer, he doesn’t follow the rhythm but he enjoys himself so much that it makes up for it.
The lyrics to Blurred Lines is exactly how I imagine Fassbender spits game at women. Eww.
The song was mediocre at best, and don’t get me started on the video. Completely vapid and sexist. But if wolverine is playing a naked girl part, I can see where that might be of interest. See, I can be as scuzzy as robin thicke.
I just love the fact that they were having FUN.
Stupid song but I’d dance my ginger off with Fassy’s ginger everywhere and anywhere. He would probably run in the opposite direction as fast as he can if the occasion ever arises, but who cares. Damn, he looks so hot all earnest and stuff in the last picture.
I’ve still never heard this Blurred Lines song, as I shelter myself with headphones and don’t listen to the radio. Still, if I’ve got the gist, people have been dancing to awful, pervy songs forever. They’re just more ubiquitous now that we’ve got such excellent ways of spreading them around the globe.
That being said, I’m all for in-costume mutants shakin’ it in between scenes. I think a Fassy-McAvoy-Jackman danceoff sounds epic, and I would like to judge.
That picture of ‘Bender & The Batch’ (great name, btw!) is one of the greatest things around! I think I need to tape it to a bottle of wine and keep it with the emergency kit – I’d have to restock a lot, but so be it!
