Miley Cyrus had ‘extreme’ allergic reaction: ‘Shut the f— up & let me heal’

Miley Cyrus

This is Miley Cyrus’ latest sad selfie from a hospital bed. Earlier this week, I discussed Miley’s allergic reaction to antibiotics that landed her in an ambulance. This has been a rough month for Miley, who is on tour but also dealing with the death of her dog, Floyd. I’m troubled by the internet buzzings about Miley making this whole thing up. People have said that an “allergic reaction” must be the new “exhaustion.” Is society really that jaded? Not every celebrity is a Lohan.

According to the official statement issued by Miley’s team, she suffered a sinus infection and was prescribed Cephalexin (an antibiotic). She experienced an “extreme allergic reaction.” Miley has a rash over her entire body. She will be hospitalized anywhere from 5 to 27 days, and several tour dates have been rescheduled. Miley is said to be “devastated about missing shows.” She’s also very upset that people are smirking at her medical emergency. Miley wants everyone to “shut the f— up and let me heal.” Really:

Miley Cyrus

Has Miley been partying on tour? Definitely. Has she been smoking pot and popping Molly. Certainly. Has she lost sleep and indulged more than usual after Floyd’s death? Probably. None of that makes any difference to what she’s experiencing. She had a sinus infection. She took prescription medicine and nearly died as a result. Give the girl a break already.

I do feel really bad for her, and i believe the statement that was released.
But can she please live out the remainder of her hospital stay without these pathetic selfies? And without the “poor me” tweets?
I’ve been laid up in the hospital in a bad way, too. Everyone knows it sucks and is very hard. But I can just see her taking this to the next level with over sharing and sad crying cats every day. Enough!!!!
Is just her generation though. Nothing is really happening, good or bad, unless it’s on social media 24/7. Exhausting.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Exactly.

    • mimif says:

Totally, you beat me to it.

    • Dani2 says:

+1 to everything. I really do wish her well but the hospital selfies are a little too much now.

    • EXACTLY—if I need to heal, then I’m not going to be tweeting every two seconds, posting pictures of me in my hospital bed.

      • FLORC says:

Or reading what people are saying. She like a lot of people need to step away from the social media. It’s not healthy.

      • Dommy Dearest says:

Exactly. Miley needs to shut the eff up. The more she wants to act like this the more one) people are going to talk and two) people are actually going to really believe it wasn’t an allergic reaction (I still don’t just due to my skepticism with celebrities in general but some do). From what I’ve seen of people that do have a reaction such as that, they aren’t posting selfies or monitoring their twitter or other social media.

    • blue marie says:

      my thoughts exactly

    • Crank says:

I’ve had reactions too, so I believe her, but yes she needs to get off social media and heal. A girl I knew was too sick to go to class for a few weeks, but she posted pictures so much on Facebook that nobody believed her, including some of her teachers. I know she was really sick, but the idiot wouldn’t stop taking selfies and tweeting every effing moment of her day….this is just normal idiotic teenage stuff now. If you’re sick, gotta let the entire world know when you peed and what you ate.

    • Esmom says:

It’s not just generational, I know more than a few Gen Xers who are posting pics and updates about themselves multiple times a day, oversharing beyond belief. I seriously think, with a couple of them, that they can’t enjoy anything unless they get the validation they now apparently need from all their “friends” and “followers.” I think those with a predisposition towards narcissism and/or egocentrism are a bad mix with social media, no matter how old they are.

    • Jag says:

I’ve had a bad reaction to Cephalexin (sp?) and it’s not fun. Totally agree with you that the sympathy starts waning with every “poor me” tweet and selfie, though. If she’s really feeling so bad, then she should be resting – not fake lamenting over missing her tour dates.

    • Hiddles forever says:

I am allergic to several medicines and once I had an anaphylactic shock that nearly killed me.
I think that can happen to everyone, Miley included.
Although I don’t know what kind of allergic reaction she had, I guess that if she wants to heal properly and as soon as possible, staying out of social medias would be a good idea.
Mens sana in corpore sano, Miley. Fans can wait.

    • Lucinda says:

I was in the hospital a couple years ago for a very serious flare-up of my chronic illness. I was away from my husband and my kids, on lots of drugs, and lonely. Very lonely. For me, Facebook was my connection to the rest of the world and I checked it far more while in the hospital than I do in real life. I had friends who were up in the wee hours when the nurses woke me and I couldn’t go back to sleep whom I could chat with. So while I wish she would post so many pictures, I do actually understand why she is on social media.

    • Upshot says:

      You said it well.

And sulpha drugs like this are harsh. Many ppl have strong or strange allergic reactions to them, including myself. Was prescribed Keflex for a sinus infection, too. Within 3 days of taking as prescribed, my tongue turned GREEN! The top if my tongue was greenish and I had the most awful taste of having a metal spoon, a bit rusty even, in my mouth. Had a few other weird symptoms of allergy but that was what caused me to stop taking it (as well as the Dr. saying yes, please stop taking it, you’re having a bad reaction.)

I can’t wrap my head around an allergic reaction lasting so long as a month? But I know many antibios can cause reactions that only start to show weeks or even a few months AFTER having taken it, so who knows.

Either way? ITA re over sharing nowadays (dating myself here…), as well as I can’t imagine how exhausting her schedule must be.

      • Pharmacist says:

Ummm. Your tongue turned green because you were letting the caps sit on your tongue for too long. The metallic taste is normal and not an allergic reaction. Cephalexin is not a sulfa drug. It is a cephalosporin. Sulfa allergy has nothing to do with this. I want to know why she was given keflex for a sinus infection. The only reason to do it is a. shortage of amoxicillin/augmentin (never going to happen), b. rare strain of bacteria that was obtained by culture (nobody cultures sinus infections unless they persist against multiple antibiotics), c. she is allergic to penicillins – in which case she is also allergic to similar cephalosporins – cephalexin being one that is highly cross-reactive. It’s good to see so many teenagers with their medical degrees making definitive diagnosis on the interwwebz though.

      • Upshot says:

Calm down, self proclaimed web pharma.
        Happy Easter! LOLL

I did not let the drug sit on my tongue. They had such an awful smell I gulped them down in one fell swoop, followed with plenty more h2o. So that’s a line of crap, to start with. They passed my tongue in a swoosh of water and air, sir. (Ma’am?;)

Teenager? 😀 Thank you! Haven’t been carded in awhile. And perhaps my real life Dr., as opposed to your web pedigree here, is a moron, but since we had gone through a couple of other antibios w/no results, he switched to this. I was told it’s a sulfa drug. I’m actually much too comfy and lazy this afternoon to bother reading up on it, myself, so if you say it’s not, hell, it’s not.

Keep on spreading that seething anger thing, web pharmacist, and have a good one.

      • BestJess says:

There was no anger in pharmacists comment that I saw, certainly not seething anger. Just because someone corrects you it doesn’t mean they’re angry.

  2. Shijel says:

An allergic reaction to Amoxicillin landed me in the hospital for a week. I was covered in red rash as well. The doctor brought in a whole unit of interns because apparently I was such an interesting case. It blew a donkey’s backside.
I believe her and wish that people would get off her case.

    • Anon says:

That is the exact same reaction I get from all penicillins Shijel! Head to toe full body rash that feels like a crazy intense sunburn. Sad thing is, I found out about my allergy when I was in the hospital already recovering from a car accident which left me with a fractured femur. As if my body wasn’t already in enough pain…

    • kri says:

It’s not uncommon to have reactions to antibiotics-people think that because they are supposed to kill infections that they cannot hurt you. They are powerful drugs that can actually kill you if you have a bad enough reaction. That being said, I think Miley might benefit from some real rest in a real hospital. Maybe slowing her roll a tad is a good thing. I have to say I admire her. At least she works hard, and she really seems to love performing and her fans.

    • Jenna says:

Been there too and I do think folks are being nuts about thinking its funny. This kind of reactions and interreactions are scary all the way around. That being said, I confess. When I’m seriously ill? If anyone even thought about taking my photo or thought I should text constant details or updates, they would need their head read. That is, AFTER they had it removed from where I had shoved it. Sleep, don’t tweet Miley. Sleep don’t tweet.

I will say that I’m in mild stunned wonderment if the tweets ARE from her 100%, the girl must have tolerance levels off the chart. The last bad antibiotic reaction I had I was in the hospital, an intern told my mom she had no clue what she was talking about, “no one is allergic to that, not really” PUSHED past her, and dumped it into my iv. Only thing I would say, as the next three days I would be unconscious, as my hand turned bright red and the line of ‘oh hell, she was right’ visibly started up the arm was a singsong “you’re in trouuuubbbbblllee now!” Before passing out. And I’m an amazonian built gal, not a tiny little thing like Miley. Bad reactions, rash and more and she is, more or less, typing coherent sentences? That’s kinda impressive in a messed up way.

      • Johnny Depp says:

people like you do not get it. It is not the reaction that is stirring all of this, or it shouldn’t be anyway. It is the fact she has a sinus infection. It seems most likely that she got the infection from doing coke. If you were ever young, did the whole crazy partying thing, and played hard you would understand the reality. I think it is well deserved that people slam her because she does nothing to deserve otherwise. I did not expect people to feel bad for me when things caught up to me from partying at that age so why should anyone give a rats arse about her issues?

  3. mimif says:

Here’s a thought sweetie, turn the phone off and let yourself heal.

  4. Leigh says:

Losing her dog to a coyote attack is horrific and as a dog owner I can empathize. But I have very little sympathy for people who don’t take care of themselves and make a spectacle out of every little thing in their lives…

  5. The Original Mia says:

Heal, Miley and stop the selfies and social media updates.

  6. aims says:

I agree. Sure she’s been whooping it up on the road, but she did have a reaction to medication. That sucks and maybe it will slow her down a little bit and make her think.

  7. T.C. says:

Sorry but 27 days in addition to time already spent in hospital sounds closer to 30 day inpatient rehab than allergic reaction treatment. Once you stop taking the medicine that gave you the rash , it starts going away. Doesn’t take a month. They send you home because there are sicker people who need the bed and doctor’s attention.

    • daisy says:

My thoughts exactly. Plus they don’t want you catching whatever else people in the hospital have so they get you out as soon as possible. She has enough money to have a private nurse on call once she’s out of the hospital. The lady doth protest too much, me thinks.

    • aquarius64 says:

Putting it out there that the “allergic reaction” can last up to 27 days only fuels speculation that it’s a drug overdue prompting rehab.

    • Belle Epoch says:

T.C. You got it right. My MIO was covered from head to toe with horrible flaming red rashes from sulfa reaction and they sent her home to take Aveeno baths. Her story is BS

    • sighs says:

Actually, that’s not true. I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic that did not abate when I quit the med, and now has turned into a major autoimmune disorder. My friend had a reaction, also to an antibiotic, and she had a persistent rash for almost a year. She was on 5 antihistamines simultaneously for months and had to slowly wean off.
So I don’t really know how the doctor can give it a timetable, but you really just never know with reactions. They affect everyone differently. I agree about them not keeping you in the hospital, though. Unless you’re anaphylactic, which she obviously is not.

      • PunkyMomma says:

Thank you, sighs. I took an antibiotic called levaquin. It bifurcated my Achilles’ tendon and left me with tendinitis in both shoulders. I was in agony for weeks and the damage to my Achilles never repaired properly. There was no recovery timetable.

      • sighs says:

That sounds painful, punky. I think that was the same one my friend took. I think I’ll be staying away from that one. Heard too many bad stories.

      • Tammy says:

She had an anaphylaxic reaction to the antibiotic…she passed out and her team rushed her to the hospital.. stop doubting just because its Miley.

      • Sighs says:

Errr… I wasn’t doubting because it was Miley. I haven’t really delved too much into the specific information about her reaction. It just didnt really look from all her pictures to be as serious as that. I’m not doggin on Miley. I think I was actually defending her. Don’t get your panties in a
        twist.

      • Hiddles forever says:

With an anaphylactic shock I was kept 4 days at the hospital. And I had that after a surgery.
Then, despite I was barely able to walk I was kicked out of the hospital and sent home with my mum, where I stayed for four weeks before going back to work.

27 days in a hospital for an allergic reactions can’t be possible.

      • mac says:

It sounds like serum sickness which is an immune reaction to the antibiotics. It causes a horrible itchy rash and deep tissue/bone ache. And it lasts anywhere from a few days to 6 weeks. Could also be Henoch–Schönlein purpura or as mentioned by another poster, Stevens johnson syndrome.
She isn’t my favourite celeb but if she is suffering from any of the above things then she has my sympathy

    • bluhare says:

Yup; I wonder if that’s not more like it.

    • Tammy says:

Sorry but you’re wrong. A severe allergic reaction can last that long even after you stop taking the medication…some even die from taking antibiotics due to be allergic to antibiotics. Now if you had said her partying, along with the allergic reaction, might be prolonging her stay, I’d be more in agreement with you.

    • hmmm says:

      Yeah, I don’t believe her.

    • Sjs sucks says:

My daughter was in the ICU for 30 days a severe allergic reaction called Stevens-Johnson syndrome look it up and know what your talking about before bashing someone. You get flue like symptoms red eyes etc before the rash or sometimes at the same time. You burn from the inside out! It is horrible to watch! Skin blisters and sloughs. Go to Stevens Johnson foundation and learn about it!

      • Nina W says:

Miley doesn’t have that, her selfies show her skin is just fine, no need to go overboard on the defense. I has in hospital for only two days for major heart surgery, 30 days IS very hard to understand if true.

    • John says:

Yes, 27 days is *awfully* specific. Keflex is one of the most benign antibiotics there are; it’s given to people who have no tolerance for/severe allergies to other antibiotics.
I think there’s something else going on, too.

    • Edith says:

Coincidentally, 27 days is the approximate length of time of an anti-HIV treatment course. Her boyfriend (Will.Made.It) looks like a walking disease, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Why else would her friends be calling him a “murderer” on Twitter?

  8. aquarius64 says:

When celebs put out an image they are hard partiers and drug users, they shouldn’t be surprised that people will assume hospitalization = OD and/or rehab. I guess Miley’s team realized that, hence the statement. Promoters for her tour were probably getting nervous too – concert venue may decide to cancel out =loss of revenue.

    • QQ says:

      THISsssss!!

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

      Excellent points

    • Stef Leppard says:

THIS! While I am giving her the benefit of the doubt and believing her allergic reaction story, she should not be acting all hurt and surprised that people are giving her side-eye. You can’t have your cake and snort it too, Miley! Or something…

    • lucy2 says:

That was my thinking too – I believe her this time, but that is the party drug image she’s created for herself, so it’s only natural that people assume it’s related. Plus it’s hardly the first time a celebrity was hospitalized for one thing and called it something else.

    • Dommy Dearest says:

      Honestly that’s why I don’t believe her.

    • homegrrrl says:

“I snort coc! i love molly! watch me take a hit of a joint on televsion! Look at me wee wrinkled arse in plastic panties” then it’s

“I’m in the hospitol because I’m soooooooo sensitive to anti-biotics. My system is sooooo clean”

Hopefully she’s in the hospitiol for acute szhizophrenia!!

      • BestJess says:

You don’t need to have a pure system to get an allergic reaction. You can be a massive crack head and still get a dangerous reaction to antibiotics.

  9. Cora says:

The reason people are jaded is because publicists have used allergies to medication as a code word for drug overdose in the past. Remember when Charlie Sheen had that epic meltdown in NYC when he went crazy on a hooker and she had to lock herself in the bathroom until the police arrived? His publicist at the time tried to explain it away by saying Charlie had “an allergic reaction to medication”. LOL!!! I’ve heard other publicists trot this one out, too, when it was obvious to everyone their client had a meltdown due to drug abuse or overdose. It really has become the new “exhaustion” in PR.

Now don’t get me wrong, I believe Miley had a real medical emergency and I believe her version of events. I’m just explaining why people were initially skeptical.

    • bluhare says:

I think she had a medical emergency too. I wouldn’t be surprised to find it morphed into something else.

    • John says:

And Piven’s sushi allergy/mercury poisoning that cause him to drop out of Speed the Plow on Broadway.
      *eyeroll*

  10. daisy says:

She can’t turn off Twitter. She’s addicted alright — to fame and attention. What scares her most is the thought that we might forget about her. How can we miss you if you won’t go away.

  11. Miffy says:

    She’s such a gracious patient.

Who is she talking to that’s preventing her from healing? Good girl, Miley. Stop tweeting and sleep. Twit.

  12. I’m side eyeing the way she got sick—-she has had other people’s nasty, dirty thongs in her mouth, at least ONCE….that’s disgusting, and I bet it’s not the only time she’s done that–just the first time WE heard of it. Add that with her inability to brush her tongue (or whatever that white gunky crap was on her tongue), and drugs—I’m not surprised at anything.

    • Algernon says:

Okay, so you had an allergic reaction to antibiotics. That happens, many people are allergic to antibiotics and you don’t know if you are until you’re on some and have a reaction. Fair enough.

But how much does the lifestyle, and I’m not even talking about the daily grind of a massive tour, but specifically the drinking and the drugs, contribute to your state? Maybe you wouldn’t have had the sinus infection in the first place if you weren’t assaulting your immune system with that sh-t all the time. It’s all connected.

      • Tammy says:

Not entirely true. I have had very severe sinus infections because I am allergic to my pets, not due to drug or alcohol uses… now I have ran my system down from drinking and battled a major cold for 2 months plus. But each and every one of my sinus infections were caused by allergic reactions to my pets and they were bacterial…i.e. needed to be treated by antibiotics. Now my viral infections…flu…virus…colds…yes, can be caused by drinking.

      • Jaded says:

I’m sure the non-stop party lifestyle contributed to her initial illness. You can’t put your body through that kind of stress without it catching up to you.

  13. Elisabeth says:

Why does this child live her whole life out in the open, expose herself in every single social media she can get a username for, then get pissed off when the whole world has an opinion on what she is screaming out to them? If you want silence, turn the phone off, turn the computer off and go to sleep.

  14. TG says:

Anyone who is tweeting and/or instagramming selfies and informing the world of their medical conditions is not entitled to whine and complain about the public. Shut up Miley and stop killing your dogs. Stop acquiring pets unless you are going to provide a safe environment for them. Worthless twit.

  15. InVain says:

I had a severe allergic reaction when I was younger to a commonly prescribed antibiotic…so I understand. My joints blew up to the size of softballs (at about 4 yrs. old) and I couldn’t walk on my own, or correctly, for well over a week. It was horrifying for my parents and me (mostly confusion for me)….so I can definitely sympathize. BUT I DO AGREE with the above posts that are questioning the amount of time that she could spend in the hospital….5 to 27 days? Hmm…27 days??

    • swack says:

The reason most people get released from a hospital in a reasonable amount of time is because the insurance won’t pay for it. Look at the celebs staying up to a week or two after having a baby (insurance for most of us covers 2 day normal delivery and 4 days for a c-section). They can afford to pay for the stay. So I imagine (and I could be wrong) that if the doctors tell her she can go home and she decides to stay then she’ll be footing the bill. Also, the antibiotic they gave her is one that is handed out on a regular basis – Keflex (more commonly known by this name). Every orthopaedic surgery I had, I went home with Keflex as the antibiotic of choice. Kind of scary!

      • John says:

Hospitals are not hotels, they need the beds to treat other patients, you can’t just check in and decide you want to stay, no matter how much money you have.
And Keflex is a popular antibiotic because it has a very low rejection rate. Folks who are allergic to other antibiotics are prescribed it.
        Not believing her.

      • Nina W says:

I agree with John, hospitals are not hotels, they need beds for patients which is why they want to kick everybody out as soon as possible. Yes, insurance plays into how long a person stays but the hospital itself does not want to house anybody without good reason. They want the beds for sick people who need them not celebs or rich people.

    • Trashaddict says:

This. It’s like when your kid is lying and they make up something more specific in a weak attempt to make it sound more authentic. What the hell textbook did this 5-27 days BS come from? Nobody’s disputing that people can have horrible allergic reactions. Just that this scenario is fishy.

  16. Elizabeth says:

She wanted people to buy into her new “adult” rockstar image. What did she expect when she went to the hospital? Sympathy from America? I believe that she is actually sick, but she wanted her image, she needs to deal with it.

  17. Talie says:

I had a reaction to the same antibiotic she was taking — it’s pretty common, from what I hear. Although, it turned me red! My tongue also swelled a bit. Scary.

I just took Benadryl though, granted I’m not a multi-millionaire superstar — so no one cared about rushing me to the hospital! My symptoms subsided in about 3 hours.

  18. Dani says:

Isn’t there a movie with Sandra Bullock about her going to rehab for 28 days? Very possible Miley is receiving similar treatment.

  19. aenflex says:

Never realized how misaligned her lower jaw is.

  20. Marigold says:

    27 days. Hmm…

    Color me skeptical.

  21. Dash says:

I love that the “official statement” is a screen grab of the notes section on an iphone. No wonder journalists aren’t using it.

  22. Mel M says:

Totally annoying. All she wants is sympathy because she cannot function without getting attention 24/7. She posts a pictures and then when people stop talking about it she posts another. Of course no one is going to take her seriously when she doesn’t seem to want to take the time off to heal. She’s like those people that mope around because they want you to ask them what’s wrong.

  23. Sugar1 says:

No Miley you STFU & let you heal & leave us alone.

  24. Jane says:

She’s bawling her head off because in the hospital they will not let her drink, smoke weed, take Molly, party all hours, and make out with every man she sees. She actually has to act like a respectable human being, not a spoiled brat. That is why she is no miserable. There are people literally on their death beds who are complaining less than she is. A good friend of mine has been out of work on FMLA since January because her father is fighting Leukemia. She said that her father has complained only once since being diagnosed, and that was when he went through extremely painful tests. He’s lost all his hair, lost over 40 pounds, went through chemo, stem cell transplant, had dozen or pints of blood transfusions and he is not acting like a baby.

Grow up, Miley. You want to perform so that people can support your histrionic personality disorder. Put your big girl panties on and stop belly-aching. There are people in this world far worse off than you.

Save the drama for someone who cares.

    • Jaded says:

      +1000000

    • Dommy Dearest says:

      + EVERYTHING

Your comment is the best comment I’ve ever seen. And well wishes for your friend and her dad!

      • Jane says:

Thank you! Your words are very kind.

Last I heard my friend wrote he has taken a turn for the worst. His stem cell transplant is being rejected by his T Cells even though the transplant was considered to be an excellent match.

If he doesn’t make it through Easter, it will literally break my friend. 🙁 So worried about her. 🙁

    • Christin says:

Kids fighting life threatening illnesses typically wouldn’t be this attention seeking. A little boy in our area spent more than two years in a hospital hundreds of miles from his home. And he inspired all those around him instead of whining and seeking attention. Unfortunately, he lost his battle months after finally receiving his organ transplants. He was 8 years old.

I can’t sympathize with this one, either.

      • Jaded says:

Exactly. This is what happens when parents who have no moral compass and only focus on becoming famous and making a ton of money raise children.

Miley’s mother clearly lives her life through her daughter because she had neither the talent nor the drive to create anything worthwhile in her life other than following bands and marrying a star. So it goes without saying that Miley has been given no moral compass and has been given total free reign over her life to attain these same goals. So she equates feminism with strutting around half naked and faux masturbating on stage. She equates success with being photographed by a known pervert and sexual predator – Terry Richardson. Her hunger for being in the spotlight has been encouraged and praised by her parents as something worthwhile. Meanwhile, children and young adults all over the world are suffering life-threatening illnesses, poverty, rape, lack of education, and all Miley can do is tweet self-pitying photos and tell everyone to leave her alone and f*ck off.

What a pitiable, pathetic creature she is and what horrible parents she has that have created this black hole of narcissism.

Lying in bed. Not laying. I know I’m
    an asshole.

  26. Delta Juliet says:

OK, I obviously don’t know everything. BUT I too had a very severe allergic reaction to antibiotics. I was also pregnant at the time. I’m talking full body rash (red and raised), blood pressure climbing, throat swelling, the works. The beginning of anaphylactic shock. And pregnant.
They kept me in the ER for a few hours, gave me Prednisone and Benadryl, monitored me for awhile and one my blood pressure normalized and I could breathe they sent me home. That day.
Obviously every case is different, but this seems really…odd.
Also, if she doesn’t want attention she could very easily stay offline. Idiot.

This is for all of you commenting that you doubt Miley Cyrus had a severe allergic reaction to taking antibiotics: http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/drug-allergy/basics/symptoms/con-20033346

    • Diana says:

I don’t know if it’s so much that people doubt that she had an allergic reaction to a drug. I think people are questioning the supposed severity of it that could keep her in the hospital for up to a month. I’m a nurse, and the people I have have seen that come in with a “severe” allergic reaction, have ended up in the ICU intubated and on a vent. Obviously not all, but quite a few. I kinda tend to think that she might be in the hospital going through medical detox, but who knows. Her people are going to spin the story the way they want. As far as her not wanting people to talk about her, since when did she care about any negative attention? All attention is good attention to her. She would die if people forgot about her.

    • John says:

Linking to a page that speaks generally of “Many allergic reactions [that] start within minutes of taking a drug” does nothing to convince me, sorry. Her people can Google symptoms, too, and there is no mention of antibiotics in that link.

  28. Katie says:

She could start by not posting the selfies and by taking a break from social media…

  29. Jaded says:

There was a blind item about a huge argument in a ‘certain’ family after the famous daughter’s dog was snatched by a coyote (why would anyone in their right head let a tiny dog out unsupervised in coyote country?) The mother immediately went out and bought another dog to try and take the place of old coyote-bait. The daughter initially was fine with the new dog but had a melt-down and made mother take it back. Mother and daughter then go on a tequila and pot binge to drown their sorrows, Dad freaks out and yells at mother to stop coddling daughter and teach her to act more responsibly. Family brawl ensues.

From what I can gather, Tish enables Miley almost as much as Dina does with Lindsay. She’s living vicariously through her daughter. Tish was a notorious groupie before she snagged Billy Ray so not the best role model to teach a daughter maturity and responsibility. So clearly Miley’s been playing hard and fast for a long time, touring, drugging, drinking, burning the candle at both ends. She gets sick but keeps up the lifestyle and gets sicker, requiring antibiotics which she turns out to be allergic to. In a perfect world this might be the signal to her to slow it down, but she won’t as is evidenced by the constant stream of selfies she’s sending out to the world, then crapping on the world to leave her the f*ck alone.

Her parents, and more specifically the mother, are to blame for inflicting this little monster on the world – if Miley’s world is starting to melt down now it’s entirely her parents’ fault.

    • Christin says:

It surprises me that few mention the parental influence. They managed to clamp down the groupie stories, so I’m not sure how many are aware of that alleged history. I’m just surprised there hasn’t been a pregnancy yet.

I am an Emergency nurse. While I do believe Miley did, most likely, have a reaction to her antibiotics, these symptoms are usually aggressively treated in ED, they resolve, and patient is discharged with prescriptions. THAT DAY.The only time we admit for something like this is if everything we try fails or patient doesn’t respond to interventions and patient status declines, as in patient airway becomes unstable and we need to place a tube in to help with ventilations. Nobody gets admitted for up to 27 days for a rash, unless it’s infected and patient is systemically too unstable to be discharged. Obviously, that is not the case here, thanks to all her pictures and updates. Rashes can be treated at home. Also, Cephalexin is NOT the drug of choice that is used to treat to treat sinus infection. There are least three other antibiotics I can think of that are much more effective. So, unless she has alot of drug allergies, she needs a new primary care doctor or stop going to urgent care. I believe she had a true medical emergency, I am questioning the admission. There is DEFINITELY something else going on that nobody is mentioning.

    • mel says:

THANK YOU! I have chronic sinus problems, and have for most of my life. I have several drug allergies – including antibiotics. I have had the joy of an “extreme allergic reaction” to one (Biaxin) to the point of needing an emergency tracheotomy, and my heart stopped. I was in the hospital TWO DAYS…not “5 to 27”. Trust me, the last thing I wanted to do was have pics taken of me.

I call bull on her story.

  31. Mae says:

I’m worried the sinus could be from using drugs! Very common to get sinus infections from that and a withdrawal could be what she’s suffering! I hope she get healthy and her family helps her!

    • girl using brain says:

My first thought as well. Back in the day (OK, the 80’s when I was a teenager) a “sinus infection” really meant “coke problem”.

      • Emily C. says:

Uh… I used to get sinus infections constantly as a teenager and still get them sometimes. Assuming someone has a drug problem because they get a sinus infection is way out of bounds. They’re bad enough without having that nonsense piled on top.

And the financial impact begins: Cyrus was scheduled to perform in Nashville, TN today, Louisville, KY on 4/19 and Philadelphia, PA on 4/21. All three were cancelled and rescheduled for various dates in August; original tickets will be honored. The problem is – what if some of these concert-goers can’t make the August dates for various reasons, such as pre-planned and pre-paid vacations? I think some are going to be asking for refunds because I can’t see people and families chucking vacation plans to see Miley twerk. If her allergic reaction is really a cover for recuperation for partying hard on tour, they are a lot of people that are angry at her for messing with the money.

  33. Emily C. says:

She has never gotten in trouble for anything, either. She’s dim, the way she treats little people is problematic at best, but there’s no reason to doubt her here.

  34. rose says:

i hope she just goes away, so we never have to look at her stupid rude self again. ever.

    seriously tired of her.

  35. aquarius64 says:

The latest tweet from the Twerk Jerk:

    http://www.gossipcop.com/miley-cyrus-oxygen-mask-duck-picture/

So she’s really that ill huh? Where is her PR team?

    • megsie says:

good to know she’s feeling well enough to slap on some eyeliner and keep up with the selfies.

  36. She's stupid says:

    Uhhhhh……

So where’s the RASH???? We know it’s not on her face. We KNOW this little fool would take a photo and post it if she really had any rash.

  37. Lucky Charm says:

Not making excuses, just an observation. Perhaps the reason she’s posting & tweeting constantly is because she’s bored as hell doing nothing else all day. I have friends on FB that post 24/7 it seems like, just because they are bored and laid up or sick in bed.

I read the statement, and it said “between 5 to 27 days”. Everyone seems to focus on just 27 days, so it must be rehab. Did her lifestyle contribute to her getting a sinus infection in the first place? Probably. Does that mean she didn’t really have an allergic reaction and is covering up a stint in rehab? Not likely. Is she annoying? Yes, but I believe her.

  38. Becky says:

I had an extreme allergic reaction to sulfa drugs. It was so bad that I not only had a rash and hives, but I also had a very high fever, my throat swelled shut, and I had fluid in my lungs. It does not take 27 days to heal from this. They give you IV norepinephrine and benadryl. When the symptoms go away, they send you home. Either her sinus infection is much worse, or they are keeping her in the hospital for another reason like exhaustion.

  39. Jeriann says:

In all honesty you people have no clue as to what you are talking about. This is all because she is a celebrity, if this were any of us then the media should catch more of this sort of reaction, and not bash her all b/c she is famous and wants a pitty party? when I DO NOT think that is the case here! I was in her situation back in 2011 & social media was my way of being able to talk to others since I couldnt with my own voice, I couldn’t talk at all. You wouldn’t judge me if I posted anything, why judge her, it’s not her fault! Yes she’s famous, but does that give us the reason to comment all negative BS- seriously people she hasnt posted that much! Can I just ask TRAMA lady why you’re even a nurse? I think you need to pick up a new profession, the medical field is clearly not for you, it’s people like you that almost killed me! Her diagnosis isn’t even out in the open yet, so maybe y’all should wait before questioning her motives, did u ever think of how bored people are when lying in a hospital bed!? I have been given cephalexin for sinus related issues before, there could be a specific reason why they would give it to her! I’m glad she’s posting, it shows us that she’s prob not as serious as I would think she would be for having rashes! I had a rash on my chest that turned into 3rd degree burns, burning about 80% of my body. I wouldn’t have been that bad if the first 3x I went to the hospital they had kept me, but of course nurses like you send them home until there is seriously something wrong then it’s too late. I’m glad she caught it early! I was in a COMA for 3 weeks, ICU/hospital for a month all together, turned out I had Stevens Johnson Syndrome/Toxic Epidermal Neucrolysis, did u ever think that could be what she has? I think that she does because of how long thy said she may be in the hospital, which is how long she should be there, 5-27 days is ACCURATE for this type of illness/reaction, your skin starts to slither like a snake, you scar/burn like an actual burn patient, except this is from the inside out! They said it’s rare if I live past the first week b/c of how fast it progressed. They told me SJS is worse b/c they can’t treat it like they usually would, only steroids and keep you as comfortable as possible until you come through again, I have been in recovery for two years already and it does not get any easier either. What about all these slutty photos people post, maybe those are for attention too, everyone is guilty of just that hypocrites, I don’t think this an attention seeking matter, so please keep your harsh comments to yourself, this is also social media & look at what all of you are doing! Don’t judge what you do not know, and educate before you medicate- sjsupport.com ! Please I think you all should wait before judging anyone, this could take up to a week or two before it gets full affect and her updates may dwindle the more serious they get! Keep all this in mind before you judge what you DO NOT understand, b/c you aren’t her, you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors, this is just as well CYBERBULLYING- just saying! Miley is a human being too you know!!?
